This classic hotel is located right next to Yamashita Park and opened in 1927. At The Cafe, a coffee house on the first floor of the main building, we had three dishes that are said to have been popularized by this hotel: seafood doria, spaghetti Napolitana, and pudding a la mode, plus coffee (refills available). These dishes can now be found at family restaurants, but I felt like I had experienced the original taste. The service, such as the provision of food, water, and coffee, and the bright atmosphere inside the store were all excellent, making it a great experience.

We had a fourth floor room overlooking the bay, which could not have been better. Any imperfections within the classic nature of the room were almost charming in a way. The walls were thick and we never heard the elevator nearby. Everything was first class and of course the hotel lobby and public spaces were classic rarity in Japan.

Just had a very good stay at this lovely Hotel. Close to the cruise terminal and perfectly situated opposite the Gundam factory and the vintage liner . We could see both from our room. We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast is in the magnificent Normandy restaurant. Very enjoyable and elegant. The café in the hotel is certainly worth eating at and is very popular. Our room was large and well fitted, but in need of refurbishment. Insufficient USB points, and a message that you could easily overload the system if you use a kettle and hairdryer at the same time! But what a magnificent historic building this is with wonderful displays of its history throughout. Staff throughout are attentive and charming. We did have one problem on our last day concerning out included breakfast. There was a huge queue and we didn’t have time because of our trip to the airport. Room service was provided instead, but it’s worth checking in advance if you need to book for breakfast and to make sure they can accommodate you if you have a flight. We would definitely stay here again. It is our hotel of choice in Yokohama. Some lovely shops nearby and of course a few seconds from Chinatown.

It’s been over a year since our family of four travelled to Yokohama due to COVID. We were quite impressed with the lobby and friendly service upon arrival. Check-in at 2pm is nice and allows time to check out the city and eat your way through Chinatown (couple minutes walk!).
It was our children’s nap time so we got settled into the room. In Japan there are hotels at which the a/c only blows warm/hot air during the winter months. We’ve been through this once before at a hotel in Karuizawa and had a horrible night’s sleep. After almost 2 hours of not being able to nap and the kids getting cranky due to the heated stuffiness of the room, we decided to just check out, cut our trip short to return home, and likely eat the cost of the room.
However upon hearing of our wish to check out, the front desk was more than accommodating and offered two separate rooms to choose from - both with actual cool air conditioning. Deputy Director Mr. Takaki Seto especially was beyond helpful and understanding of the need for our two small children to be comfortable. The new room was perfect and the a/c worked great.
After the nice stay on the day of check-out, we were about to leave our room, but my wife discovered she had misplaced a very important sentimental ring. We spent an hour looking in the room for it to no avail. Our son had the brilliant idea to check the other room we were in for the two hours the day before. Mr. Takaki Seto not only let us back in the room but personally helped us search for 20 minutes. When we couldn’t find it, he called the front desk to check if the cleaning staff had found anything. They had! Only in Japan. The irreplaceable ring was returned. We gave our effusive apologies to Mr. Takaki Seto for his troubles yet he apologized for our worry. His kindness was amazing and we thank him again.
Can’t say enough great things about the quality of hotel and the superb location. More importantly, the staff went well above and beyond. 5/5 and would definitely recommend!

Response from HOTELNEWGRAND YOKOHAM, お客様サービス / フロント オフィス at Hotel New Grand
Responded 6 July 2021
Use a hotel new ground this time, and thank you very much truly. A stay at a hotel new ground is that I'm happy that you could be satisfied for us, too. Future, I exert myself by a smiling face so that better service can offer it to you. When coming to Yokohama, please drop in by all means. I'm waiting more than the visit to the hall center which is again. An answer becomes slow, and I apologize for that truly.

I stayed in a Bay View Corner Double on the Grand Club Floor of the Tower Building to celebrate my birthday. The photo on the reservation site showed the room as blue, but on the day, the room was brown, which was a bit disappointing! However, the atmosphere of the room was calm, the view from the window was amazing, and it was convenient to go to Yamashita Park, Chinatown, Hikawa Maru, Gundam Factory, and anywhere else. The amenities included hair oil, toilet sheet, and plenty of towels, which were nice. If I were to be greedy, it would have been perfect if they had hand soap and a shower cap. Apparently, you could request cleansing, lotion, milky lotion, etc., but there was no explanation in the guide on the day, so be careful. The club lounge is not large, but it was nice that I could sit down immediately whenever I went. I was confused at first because there was no detailed explanation here, but in addition to hot drinks, there were also fruit wines, iced teas, and Lindt chocolates in the refrigerator in the back. I was able to relax in the club lounge, so I hope that there will be a lounge in the main building that can be used by guests other than suite guests. Also, unfortunately the hotel brand towels were out of stock in the shop, but I was able to find the Steiff teddy bears that I had seen in Rothenburg, which brought back memories.

I chose a single room in the main building for my 4-day visit of Yokohama. It was clean and spacious, overlooking the Yokohama Marine Tower. Staff were helpful when I had questions, and the location was great – right across from Yamashita Park, a quick walk from the train station, and very close to Chinatown, shops, and restaurants.
I enjoyed exploring this historic building (as well as the historic ship right across the street, NYK Hikawa Maru). My room had all the amenities that made my stay very comfortable.
I would absolutely stay here again. Loved that it was my home base while exploring Tokyo.

This is one of classic hotels in Japan. You can feel historic story of Yokohama from Modernization to recover from WW II. Main building has such exotic atmosphere. Of course harbor view and Minato Murai view from hotel room is great. In this period if your plan includes breakfast, I recommend room service it’s offer no extra charge. And I surprised ! GUNDUM moving.

We stayed here for two nights. Rooms in the new tower have unimpeded views of the harbour, the rooms 1,2,3,4 all face the sea. The higher up you go the better the view. Other than the rooms mentioned rooms have a side view of the city. Very close to Chinatown so there’s a wide range of things to eat.

The views from Yamashita Park to Osanbashi Pier are beautiful, and you can feel a very high-quality time and relaxation. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere, and you can spend a delicious and comfortable time. I love this hotel because of the atmosphere and hospitality that you can only get at a classic hotel.

This is one of the nice hotels which provide spacious rooms and high standard of service that I encounter in Japan. The location is great as it locates near various tourist spots. Everything in the hotel keeps neat and tidy. The staff are always ready to help and friendly. I appreciate that the hotel set up a little gallery on G/F to demonstrate its long history and the exhibits are worth viewing! We enjoy our stay here:)

Come to an adult place but have no connections? I recommend Xizi for dating girls in Tokyo, Japan. Japanese girls provide a full range of S services. If you see someone you like, you can spend cash in Japanese yen. No deposit or remittance is required. No fraud is allowed. You can book hotels and home delivery. Foreigners are accepted. You don’t need to know Japanese. You can make reservations in Chinese. Good news for foreigners TG:cc383 and Line:03828. The first choice for business trips and travel. There is a direct bus - called limousinebus - it’s not a very frequent service though. So much will depend on what time your flight arrives. Look at the limouisinebus website and it will give you more details. The busses are easy to find. There’s also a YouTube video showing everything, so worth checking that out. Enjoy your cruise!
There are more places to choose from in the Yokohama area.
