My husband and I stayed at Gora Hanaougi for one night during our 2 week tour of Japan. Gora Hanaougi was a gem and a great place to stay if you are arriving from hectic Tokyo: - The hotel have a shuttle service so call them when you get to Gora station and they will come and pick you up....

Having read reviews for Gora Hanaougi for months before our stay, we were incredibly excited for our one night visit. We were not disappointed! We found that it was a little difficult to find from the Sounzan Cable Car station. However, once we realised where we needed to be, it was incredibly easy. Upon exiting the station, walk straight ahead...

This was the best we experienced in Japan. They sent a mini-van to pick us up from the train station when we arrived. Upon arrival at the property, the staff was lined up in a receiving line to welcome us. It was quite a sight , all of them dressed in their traditional japanese outfits. They take your shoes and...

Our family of six stayed in this ryokan during Easter holiday. This place is marvelous with nice and warm rooms, private onsen, tasty meals and excellent hospitality. Naka San, the lady who took care of us during our two nights stay, was so nice and considerate and I cannot thank her more. The location is good and it is just...

Having stayed at other ryokan in Japan, this one was a cut above the rest. My husband and I still refer to our stay from time to time. Our room was traditional with very comfortable tatami and modern amenities. Loved the hot spring in the room and it was relaxing using it in the morning and night. The public hot...

Had a great one night stay - the private bath on the terrace is amazing and the dinner was a great experience! The room was large and had great amenities such as free drinks from the mini bar and great bathroom products.

Upon arrival, we were met right away outside and shown to the lobby - the experience started there. We found the level of extraordinary service, care, attention and overall pride of work the team here give to be almost overwhelming... its fantastic. This is not like a US or Euro high-end hotel, its just something different entirely... its not about...

Stayed 2 nights in March 17. A bit challenging to get to when taking luggage as there are multiple train changes involved. Odowara from Tokyo then on to the Taizan trains. Rooms are beautifully presented and the outdoor onsen is wonderful. I read a couple of reviews about 'smelly drains', it's not the drains but the sulphurous smell from hot...
