Let me tell you, most foreigners who are giving good ratings to this place on Trip Advisors are obviously not familiar with Japan and the quality of its accomodations. The place is old, barely clean, needs SERIOUS renovations. The price asked is a rip off. My Japanese BF hated the place the minute we entered, and I was as well... More

Nice host and beautiful surroundings! Free coffee and ice cream is a big plus. The rooms were tidy, cosy and spacious. The host were nice and helpful. The onsen were very hot and cleansing. We have nothing to complain about, we would have stayed one more night if we could.

We stayed here as a honeymoon couple for about five days as part of a longer Japan trip. The accommodation is modest, but very comfortable. We were treated to fantastic mountainside views from our room. Free access to the onsen was great and it really helped relax after busy full days sightseeing around Hakone. The staff were very helpful and... More

The owner of the hotel is a very king and helpful man. He showed us around when we arrived and helped us order delivery meal for that evening. The rooms are cozy and clean. The beds are really comfortable and we had no other complaints. The onsen is nice hot and relaxing. It was my first Onsen and i am... More

I definitely recommend staying here. The staff is courteous, friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious, there's a balcony and an open roof top with breathtaking views. There aren't a lot of restaurants around - something you shouldn't expect in Hakone, you're there for the greenery and nature - which this hotel has awesome solutions for: they work with 3... More

We needed a place to stay one night during a short visit to the Hakone area and this seemed to fit the bill and wallet. We were a group of 5 adults that fit comfortably in 2 different rooms though once the futons were laid out things grew tight (no surprise there). The rooms had basic amenities like a traditional... We only stayed there 1 night by arriving at about 4:30 and left before 10 the next day. Agreed no more with the other reviewer about no futon setup, uncomfortable sleep, strict meal times, shared bathroom, etc. A pretty basic ryokan but good enough for a short stay. The traditional Japanese styled room door was too old for easy locking/unlocking.... More

I stayed there 2 nights with my wife and baby. It is a ryokan of a certain age, it actually reminded me of my university dorm. Shared bathroom. Common dining area except that it has a shared bathroom with an onsen bath. The futon are not the thick one you get in upscale ryokan (I slept like a log in... More

The reception was nice and the amenities very good for the price. Everything was very clean and the Onsen (24hr hot spring free for guests) was very relaxing. The reception was very nice, and we could all tell he was trying his absolute best to make the stay as enjoyable as possible despite him being understaffed due to extenuating circumstances.... More
