The good aspect was the very spacious room, two twin beds plus facility to accommodate 3 or even 4 tatami mats in the living space - exceptional during our 3 weeks in Japan. However, the A/C was out of order, fortunately did not matter too much. We just about accepted the breakfast buffet (largely Japanese) quality, but the vast restaurant...

I would have give 5 points if the hotel would have new carpet and fresh paint. This is mainly due to cigarette smoke. I don't mind the 70-ties style; it's a style, but this strong cigarette smell was over powering in the corridors and also in our room. Hotel had designated areas for smoking. Although we did not see people...

My first experience in Japanese Spring Hotel, and I find it very pricy! It is a big hotel, so don't expect too much Japanese style face-to-face service. The facilities looks a bit old in the room, but the food quality of buffet is quite good.

Rather drab decor but clean and comfy. We had a large Japanese Western room that was spacious and well priced. Wish the hotel had its own shuttle to and from the station as it is right at the farthest end of the route and the bus was frequently full. This creates anxiety about whether you will be able to get...

Checked in for a night's stay on 30th nov. Was assigned the western - japanese room. Room was a bit old and worn out but the onsen or hotspring made the trip worthwhile. The buffet dinner was a delicious spread while the breakfast was just ok. Nevertheless, it was a great experience as the surroundings of the hotel was beautiful.

This was our first onsen experience and we absolutely enjoyed it overall and highly recommend, however here are some points that might be helpful, not necessarily negative or positive, just useful to know especially as a family with young children (age 3 and 5! First the room was excellent - very large, tatami mat area and table etc, small lounge...

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Okada. We went to relax, get away from the city and enjoy the hot springs, and that's exactly what we got! The hotel was very clean, and the room was really big! We got a 1 bedroom with a living room and a tatami room. We reserved the dinner to be served in...

This hotel was part of a tour we booked and was labeled as offering a Japanese dinner and Japanese style room. There are certainly better places for this experience. The Japanese style room was adequately equipped, but air-conditioning was hardly working, the room had a very bad smell and both shower and WC were very small. The Japanese dinner was...

The hotel is about 10 minutes by bus from Hakone-Yumoto station, you can transfer with one of the onsen bus line (100 Yen bus) and the bus drops you right in front of the hotel. The room we book is very large tatami style room with a living room and a separate room, room attendant prepares your futon mattress every...

The rooms had tatami mats, low table with legless chairs and futons that were arranged in the evening, which all were a nice experience (but the second night I helped myself to two mattresses...), but the common areas had seen better days and could use a makeover. The dinnerbuffet was plentiful, and I got some new favourites. If you stay...
