I would describe this property as a perfect onsen resort. We were pleasantly surprised by the luxury of the room space, cleanliness, facilities and the private onsen bath area. A sumptuous Shabu Shabu dinner (included in the room package) was served at either 6pm or 7pm, and the seating was organised by room number. After dinner, we took a stroll...

We have spend a night at the property enjoying the in-room onsen with outdoor temperature of average 10degc, even though the shower is completely outdoor together with the onsen, it is bearable even at that temperature. The onsen is big enough for two pax to get in and huge for one pax, onsen temp is very comfortable probably about 40...

This is our second stay at Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu. The first time was in mid 2014 and the food wasn't to our liking but having a private hot spring in the room was very enjoyable. This time around, we made reservations a little late so most other resorts were either too expensive or did not have a private hot spring...

I traveled with a friend who unfortunately had a small tattoo on the chest and couldn't go to the public bathroom because of it (tattoos are a big no-no in Onsens). That being said, we were extremely pleasantly surprised that there was a Hot Source Stone Bath in our room's balcony! For such a price, I must say I was...

This place was wonderful. Not too difficult to get to from Hakone-Yumoto station. It was a direct bus then a 1-2min walk up a slight slope. One thing to note, the buses weren't as punctual or as reliable as the trains. We arrived before our check-in time and left our luggage to go sight-seeing. Our luggage was already in our...

We stayed 2 nights at Ichinoyo Royokan... It exceeded all our expectations in quality, friendliness, cleanness, food quality and price... I strongly recommend this little gem to all travellers. Extremely good breakfast and dinner served at the premisses. In addition to communal baths, there is a private one that can be booked free of charge... Our room was facing towards...

We traveled by bus from Odawara Station. Though it was a long trip from Tokyo, it is easy to look for directions. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. We stayed in two rooms, one each night, because it was fully booked. I found that Building B, which is supposed to be more expensive, is not...

The hotel is cozy and an experience of japanese Living with sleeping On the floor, no chairs and the onsen in the room is amazing. Showering outside is Fun but a little cold and a dip in the onsen afterworth helps a lot! When we were there, the volcanic activity was High, so some of the activities in the area...

Stayed a night here with 2 others and would highly recommend for those who are looking for a ryokan experience that won't burn a hole in the pocket. For the price we paid, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and facilities provided. ROOM - We had the corner Type-A Japanese room (Large size) which was big enough...

Loved the room with it's own private onsen. Being a woman that is slightly larger in Japan can make one feel embarrassed. I have wanted to go to an onsen since we got to Japan 3.5 years ago but have always been afraid to. This was the perfect solution. The food was awesome too.
