Extra perks include free visits to Public Onsen within the airport, however need to walk through the terminal for about 5 mins.
Hotel is quite dated but well maintained.
The only improvement is if breakfast Buffett can start a little early (5.30am) instead of 6am to accommodate for early flights it will be great.
The hotel entrance is conveniently located in arrivals, with both stairs and an elevator to to the hotel lobby on floor 3. The lobby was grand, especially for an older airport hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have an onsen, but it can't be used if you have tattoos.
The room itself was roomy, with a well stocked bathroom with all necessities, washlet toilet which was warm at night, a table (which we used to eat a dinner of Lawson's onigiri), a mini fridge, and an electric kettle.
Star attraction was the breakfast. We are vegan and expected to not be able to eat anything here. Instead, all items were well marked with allergen information. We had a Japanese style breakfast with rice, natto, pickles, boiled spinach, and miso soup.
Clean, efficient, excellent buffet breakfast, and free access to wonderfully comfortable onsen bath on the roof of the building. Helpful staff even was willing to store my suitcase for me for the rest of the day after I checked out until I could pick it up again in the late evening.
If you're looking for gorgeous views or something, that's not here, and it's a half hour train ride to Sapporo, but if you have a late flight and just want to step out of the baggage claim and go to a hotel, this is your solution!
The hotel claims there is air conditioning, this is lying. The hotel itself has air conditioning but the rooms do not. Given that the Japanese like to heat indoor spaces to tropical levels in winter, the result is disgustingly hot rooms and nothing you can do about it. The staff were polite and apologetic but the best they could give me was a fan that only stays on for a couple of hours. So I had to wake up in a puddle of sweat every 2 hours at night to turn it back on again. Worst hotel experience of my life.
See photo of the hotel information in the room. This is not air conditioning.
The only issue we had was a random alarm going off early in the morning, which we never set (must've been the previous customer).
to explore, from food to crafts and gifts.
The hotelroom is of decent size and provides all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is also good and finally all staff are very friendly and helpful. In fact we decided to stay in the same hotel again on our last night in Hokkaido before we fly home.
Because it is actually in the airport there is plenty of shopping areas, and up stairs there are a large number of restaurants, and a Food Hall with great views of the airside. Check in for JAL flights is a two minute walk from the hotel. It’s a pity all airport hotels don’t have this.
