the hotel is about a 7 minute walk from the train station. the museum , castle and garden were an easy walk from the hotel. the price was a bit steep compared to other hotels we stayed in during our visit to japan ( but perhaps this is because we booked rather last minute?). the breakfast buffet had 4 types... This was the second of three hotels that I stayed at during my trip to Japan. The only negative that I can say was that the absence of a room safe was an irritant. Other that that I found that the front desk staff were efficient, the room, as usual, tiny but perfectly adequate, the breakfasts featured freshly baked breads... More

I spent about 10 days at this hotel, it was overall good. Clean, reasonable price and central, great for walking around. I moved around so I stayed for a few days, travelled then returned. I found some rooms a little hot and dry (winter heating), but I requested a humidifier and all was good. The one problem was that a... More

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the JR station, easy to find and very close to the castle and the gardens. The rooms are standard japanese hotel rooms, so small compact but everything you need is there, including of course everything you need to make tea! Furthermore the breakfast in the place is great, fresh croissants and pastries with... More

Having survived other cheap hotels in Japan, you come to expect windows facing another wall or even another room. But this one was different. I actually got a room facing the street with a decent view of the surrounding cityscape. Only a few blocks away from the main railway station, there are many restaurants and several supermarkets nearby. A covered... More

Okayama Washington Hotel Plaza (OWHP) is like the place where it's located: no real need to be here, but if you are here it won't hurt you. To start with Okayama itself: lies conveniently on the Shinkansen line and is a good base to go to not so easy to access places like Naoshima (Chi Chu Art museum is an... More

We decided last minute to visit Okayama, and we very happy with the decision we made. Hotel is budget, but adequate for a nights stay. We visited the Castle and the gardens. The gardens are a must see, they are beautiful. Would recommend if your looking for a no fuss hotel.

Great hotel just a block from JR station (mostly underground walkways/shops to get there. (Great helpful english-fluent lady in the Tourist Info office under the station). We were en route to Naoshima Island and just needed an overnight in Okayama so this was perfect. It seems to be a business hotel as we were the only euro couple at breakfast... More

It is located near the JR train station and the main attraction (the castle). Surrounding has a lot of convenience stores and restaurants. At night, it is a bit noisy. My major complaint is the air conditioner. It has no temperature control. I was cooked one night as it keep releasing the heat. The room is small but acceptable. The... More

Given the price, this is a great hotel in Okayama. Just a few minutes walk from east east of Okayama Station, Okayama Washington hotel is not too far away from Okayama Station and Okayama Prefectural Museum. My favourite is their tasty pastries and their boiled eggs. You can also get soup from its automated machine just like how you press... More
