This place has good decorations and photo shooting spots. There are also restaurants, shops and hotel inside this square. It provides car parking area and outdoor compound which has small ponds. Inside those ponds, there are plenty of fishes and tortoises. We didn't stay at the hotel so I don't know about the hotel. We can easily access to this area even we don't stay at the hotel. We went there for day trip.

Thank you for your favorable reception for Kurashiki Ivy Square. Also, as you commented on the location of the facility, it is adjacent to the "Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area". It is said that the hotel was not used this time, so please stay at the hotel next time you come to Kurashiki. We are waiting for you from all the staff.

We had booked a twin deluxe room, upon arrival it turned out that these rooms were opposite of a wing that is under renovation. Upon request to get a room away from the noise, we got an upgrade to a brand new family room, very spacious with a sitting area, 4 beds, and beautifil bathroom and seperate toilet. The hotel is around the corner form the historical district, which is quite large and plenty of shops, cafe’s and restaurants. During the day quite some local tourists, becoming quite at night. The railway station is a 10 minute walk, and Kurashiki is actually a good basis to explore places like Okayama and Naoshima. We did not use the hotel restaurant bcause there are plenty of more local place around, also to have a small breakfast rather than a hotel buffet.

We stayed at the Ivy Square , Kurashiki , In late April . Located in a revamped 19 thC cotton mill, this hotel is extraordinary . The decor is historic & intriguing ,& there is a museum showing the history of the building . The room we had was very comfortable , spacious & really well equipped, with what appeared to be a brand new bathroom , it was spotlessly clean ... we looked out into.a tranquil courtyard, with trees & shrubs... & joy ... we could open a window 😀 Staff were, without exception. Thoughfull & attentive, even delivering an English language edition of the Japan times to us ( we hadn’t asked ) Breakfast was a buffet, with choices of both Japanese & western dishes .... was well organised, well presented & delicious ... Oishi !!! We highly recommend Ivy Square & will definitely stay again when er re- visit Kurashiki .

Kurashiki is a nice place to relax & the Ivy Square has many of the necessary ingredients to achieve this. We were upgraded to a family room but have also seen the double rooms which also look spacious. Situated on what was the site of a cotton mill there is plenty of room to spread out. The reception area is large but none the less, very welcoming. There is a museum telling the story of the cotton mill. The staff are welcoming & at best speak halting English. The hotel is undergoing renovation & our room is as far away as possible from the construction zone. Everything in our room looks new & pristine.

Common areas wonderful. Beautiful exterior. The breakfast buffet was superior. Room was small and a little tired. The good news is that there is what looks like a major renovation of a separate wing. My supposition is that once that renovation is complete, the new wing will be opened and the wing I stayed in will be closed and renovated. But once again, that is just my supposition.
