The standard rooms are large condominiums with a living room, Japanese style tatami room, bedroom, and kitchen. They are in need of serious refurbishment. Carpets are dirty, and our living room ceiling had a leak with water dripping onto the carpet throughout our 4 night stay. The views from all rooms are amazing as the hotel sits on the top of a hill. We had a minor problem with our kitchen. It was clear they had just plugged in the refrigerator just before our arrival as it was not yet cold. As a result some of our food went bad. It wasn't until the next day that it was cold.

Be warned that they do not provide any kind a bell service, you're expected to bring all of your belongings to your room by yourself (extremely difficult when it's just you and a 3 year old). Also, if you plan on using the kitchen, it's best to reserve cookware and dishes in advance (¥1,100 each per stay) as they are limited. Another thing to note is that I would not recommend coming here by train, as the station is quite far from the hotel. Shops and restaurants too. Lastly, the beds are very firm and uncomfortable. Something to consider if you're a sensitive sleeper.

I would highly recommend staying here if you can find a rate of ¥10,000 or less per night. Otherwise look for someplace else.

The hotel building is made on an elevated location, so from the rooms there is a good view of the ocean in the distance. Most rooms are facing the ocean side I believe, but better to check. The hotel is big, but not massive and inconvenient. Plenty of parking space so would recommend coming by car. Quiet and peaceful and not too crowded, but maybe that depends on the season.
Actually the rooms are more like small apartments with small (but usable) kitchens. Room/apartment size can be chosen to fit the number in your party, but quite spacious (for Japan). A bit old but clean with daily cleaning services like any hotels.

Hello,

All rooms here have sea view, and are very spacious, I stayed at a 90 sq m size room with kitchenette. Nice ofuro and rotenburo, sauna, not much around like restaurants etc other than this place. However do see my review of the Thai restaurant nearby.

Cheers!

Loved staying at this hotel in Ito. There was a view from every room of our suite, including the bathroom, which had a fabulous bathtub. Super tasty room service, and we were able to order out for sushi delivery with a restaurant that had a partnership with the hotel. Super convenient and no need to leave! Did I mention the ocean views? Full kitchen? We could have stayed indefinitely. Extremely helpful concierge assisted in getting us to all the tourist sites we wanted to visit. Also loved the indoor pool, onsen and beer vending machines. Can't say enough good things about our stay in Ito at this posh hotel!

We are a party of 8 golfers from Singapore who stayed over at this hotel for 5 nights.

The room that we stayed is big with 2 bedrooms, one with 2 single western beds, another with tatami layout futon mattresses. I would classify the room to be more of an apartment. It has a luxurious layout consisting of a living area with sofa and tv, a dining area, a kitchen, a shower room and a separate WC.

Breakfast spread is reasonably good with a mixture of local Japanese dishes and some Western servings too. It has both an indoor and outdoor onsen. If you do not want to be in warmer temperature onsen, try using the outdoor onsen. I find the outdoor onsen temperature just right and at the same time get to enjoy the nice outdoor scenery.

The most memorable stay there was made possible by an English speaking front desk lady staff by the name of Mukae(I hope I spell her name correctly). For the nights that we stayed, she actually helped us arrange our golf bookings at some of the beautiful golf courses in the mountains. This was despite the fact that we usually gets back in the night and she accommodated us with our requests to call up the golf courses to book and re-schedule our earlier bookings It was especially helpful since we do not speak Japanese. She also recommended a few nice Japanese restaurants near the hotel and help us make reservations and help us pre-order. We arrived at the restaurants with no hassle of wondering what to order and just enjoy the good food.

Thanks to Mukae, we had an wonderful time In Izukogen and got to enjoy the nice sushi, sashimi, fresh fishes from the nice restaurants there.

This is one of my favorite places to stay and just take it easy for a few days. Village Izukogen (member of the Villa Fontaine Hotel Group) is located excellently on the top of a hill in the area called "Izu Kogen" quite close to Ito City.

I've stayed in a few different types of rooms throughout the year, for example a regular 2LDK room at a middle floor, the "Top Floor Upgrade Room" and also one time at the top-of-the-line "Premium Suite". Now, the Premium Suite is completely amazing, with a huge 43 sqm living room, a separate dining room, kitchen, and three bed rooms, but the price is also quite steep.Check the vacancy/price calendar to find low season deals - sometimes they rent it out for half the price, and if you are 3 families splitting the cost it suddenly becomes worth it. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows with balcony has an incredible view - don't miss watching the sunrise from the balcony, it's a must!

Except the rooms, the hotel also boasts a very nice onsen (hot springs) with separate pools for women and men - both have also an outside section from where you can sit in the steaming water and watch the sun rise, since the bath is basically open 24 hrs a day.

To be honest, other than the rooms and the hot springs, the hotel doesn't offer much more, other than a very quiet and serene environment. The hotel restaurant is average at best, so I would honestly not opt for one of the packages including dinner that the hotel also offers.

Overall, this is an amazing place for bathing in hot springs, breathing clean air, taking it very very slowly, and just letting your body relax. (Now there are of course a few sights nearby to look at as well, it's not like your completely stranded in the middle of nowhere.).

Stayed here for 2 nights on our last visit to the Izu Peninsular.. this property is situated on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, on a hill top so it offers you splendid views of the sea!

Check in staff were really helpful and excellent and spoke very good English so there was no problems communicating with them. Checking in was fast and seamless.

Without a car, I think this place would be really inaccessible but if you are intending to drive, it’s not a problem at all. We used this as a base to visit Shuzenji and even went all the way to the western coast and back.. takes just slightly over an hour to drive from the east to the west.

Breakfast was good. Mainly Japanese style breakfast but good variety. Onsen was decent.. little bit tired looking but still refreshing once u jump into the hot spa. Swimming pool was heated and with a very attentive life guard watching over u.

Room suites were large.. just like an apartment size and comfortable enough for a family of 4-6. Love this property and will come back again!!

One of the reasons we travelled to Japan was experience the Japanese way of living. There's no better way but to get immersed and that is thru this ryokan hotel in Izu. Looks like all rooms in this hotel was with a view of the ocean, and ours had a very comfortable living room, dining room and a service kitchen. We had two bedrooms with conventional beds but we did not sleep on them. We tried the room with the tatami mat and slept on futons. We had a very comfortable sleep considering that the spring weather was very conducive to relaxing!

Dinner was delectable. We enjoyed the sashimi and the shabu-shabu!

Hotel Village Izukogen is a very nice place to experience the onsen. After a tiring day, it was nice to retreat to their indoor onsen. Even my son who swore that he would never go naked was enticed to try it!!! Very clean place and the shampoo/body wash in the bath area were very poised! I love the scent. I tried the outdoor onsen even on a very cold night but it really warmed my heart and being to just have experienced it coupled with a very beautiful spring evening backdrop. I'm loving the onsen experience that my husband and I tried it in the comfort of our own bathroom in the room the following day.

A spacious 4-room apartment! Big living room! Quiet and relax! Have staff that speak reasonable English and Mandarin at reception, helpful!
The kaseiki dinner is of high quality, wagyu beef, lobster, fish and Japanese side dishes are exquistely presented.
The buffet breakfast has western and Japanese traditional cuisine, nice!
The onsen experience is great, our first! Not too crowded. The outdoor pool is lovely at night with nature view of far mountain sihouette.
Overall, a very pleasant 2D/1N stay
