Korakuen is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Atami. Lots of fun. It is a big hotel with lots of space to move around and enjoy. It is a clean, comfortable and well-maintained hotel. We stayed in the new tower. Our room did not fave the ocean but we enjoyed it; new, clean and comfortable.
The hotel has an onsen in the main tower that is just for hotel guests. It is really nice. They also have a spa downstairs that is open to public and guest for an extra cost. We didn’t go in as our daughter is 6 and not allowed to go in most of the baths. It looks great though.
The restaurant is really good. Modern and nice selection of food. It was buffet style for dinner and breakfast.
Service at Korakuen is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back if the chance arises. Nice location in Atami. Highly recommend it.

The pool is on the upper floors, from which you can look out to the open sea and at night the distant city lights. Truly beautiful and soothing.
Other facilities are of very high standards, though nothing unusual or spectacular.

We stayed at Korakuen a second time. It was a pleasure to stay again. Our room was in the new wing, very nice and comfortable with a great sea view and view of Atami. The staff here are just great. We used the Fuua spa facility. It is a great place with many floors of "relax space". Good for chilling out for the day. The onsen was good with a nice infinity style bath. You can use the restaurant as well via the spa.
The dinner and breakfast buffet are really good. They have their own craft beer which is worth a try.
The fifth floor of the main building has another onsen. It is also very nice, open early and late.
The hotel is large and enjoyable. Great access to Atami waterfront, just a few minutes walk.
Highly recommend Korakuen.

this hotel is not close to the city center but it's a good hotel to getaway. the dinner and breakfast buffet were nice. The room is spacious and comfortable. There is a ropeway next to the hotel for sight seeing and i would recommend to stay there if you visit atami.

If you stay at this hotel, I suggest you go to the Spa. My family enjoy there a whole day. Great Onsen. The room has a great view, too! The food was decent. I like that they offer special/local beers.

We booked 2 nights in this hotel.
The reception and service was good.
We picked a room with tatami in the main building which was nice and clean despite the fact that the hotel is not fresh anymore.
The hotel is huge and has a lot of services in particular for small children (the room had a kit with futon, plates, wipes, game center, small amusement park, etc for kids). The hotel is so big and there are so many group tours that you do not really feel on holidays.
The dinner was included in the price. We ate at the Japanese restaurant, the food was traditional and very fresh.
The weak point of this hotel is that it is far away from eveything, not within walking distance from the center and the train station so you have to take a bus or taxi to get there.

It’s ok. I would not come here for a romantic time, but if you have active kids, you might want to choose this place. It’s nothing special.

Good
Every room has a view...even the worst room.
You could be at the hotel from a Tokyo Station platform in 1 hour.
View from onsen is good.
Not enough English speaking staff, but they tried hard.
Futons were good quality.
Activities for kids and a lot of space for kids to run around.

Bad
Traffic in Atami is terrible.
Atami is a big tourist trap with expensive, but good fresh food.
Buffet was not big, but decent. If you like tuna sashimi, you would be happy.

I never intend to come to Atami again, but if I was in the neighborhood with kids, I would stay here.

Our first impression of Atami Korakuen was how the well-heeled hotel guests were all packed in a minibus that ferried them from the Atami JR station to the hotel. Services at the front desk was impeccable. We were ushered to our hotel room and made as comfortable as possible. There were many highlights during our one night stay- the Fireworks at the bay was fantastic. My wife keep exclaimed - enough! this is too much...cos the more than half hour display was so sense-numbing. There was enough to occupy us in our short stay. The dinner and breakfast buffet was wonderful. The onsen was well maintained and supplied with spa treatment applicants. The walk along the marina bay that is near the hotel was also invigorating given the cold winter wind blowing from the sea. The market near the station was also well stocked. We actually made time to queue up for the lovely fishcakes. Well worth our stay and visit.

We stayed 3 days at Atami Korakuen.
The hotel has a very convenient free shuttle service to Atami JR station.
Our room, on the 15th floor, was large and with a beautiful view on the city.
Onsen facilities are spacious and clean, with sauna. Massage service is good, albeit on the expensive side.
Dinner buffet was extremely good: I particularly liked the tempura, not oily at all. But all the selection of fish was delicious.
Breakfast buffet was a little short on "continental" choices.
All in all, a great and relaxing stay.
