Both the room and onsen face directly to the sea.
The room is spacious and clean.
Both the dinner and breakfast are fine.
It is about 10 - 15 minutes walk from JR station, but there is a bus stop just outside the hotel, so it is convenience to visit other area in Atami. They also have shuttle bus to JR station in the morning.

i like the onsen thou its a pity it was rainin so I didnt get to see any sea views but I really hope they improve on room cleanliness. I found vivid toothpaste stains on the washroom basins with bits of moustache hair here n there around the basin, meanin dat they didnt clean the bathroom properly which grossed me out a bit.

I stayed here on an overnight business trip with business associates. It is a traditional Japanese Onsen (hot springs) hotel, with traditional tatami rooms, where bedding is kept in the cupboard and brought out by the staff and laid on the floor for you whilst you are having dinner. Rooms were large, all had direct ocean views and balconies, in room safe, shower and toilet. There was no bath but it is expected that guests use the hotels hot springs for this purpose.

The free to use hot spring baths were on the 7th floor, with separate baths for ladies and men. There are change rooms with large pigeon holes for your belongings. Japan is a very honest country so there is no need to worry about theft. The Japanese all get in the hot springs totally naked, so if you are not shy this is the way to go. Otherwise you can go in your bathing suit. It is customary to wash your body from head to toe before you get in the hot spring baths so don't forget to do this. This hotel has open air rooftop baths with stunning views of the ocean, something not to be missed.

Dinner and breakfast were included, with the dinner being a traditional Japanese Kaiseki menu consisting of about 10 small courses of a mixture of local seafoods, vegetable dishes and desert. Breakfast was a substantial hot & cold buffet offering both western and Japanese selections.

The hotel has a shuttle service from the Atami Train Station, but it is walking distance if you don't mind a few slopes. If you want a Japanese hot springs hotel experience this is a good little hotel with very reasonable prices.

Overall Atami is a pretty seaside town that was very popular about 20 years ago, it has a small grey sandy beach directly in front of the main township, but most of the coastline is rocky. It is 40 minutes on the bullet train from Tokyo and a lovely little town for an overnight trip.

We came to see the blooming Jacaranda Trees with the deep blue flowers. KKR Hotel Atami is a little off from the main strip but an easy to walk downtown. (Also quiet at night) It is on a hill and from the 5th floor there is nothing between you and the Sweeping Ocean! Wonderful View!
And the Natural Hot Spring Bath, both indoor and outdoor have the same sweeping views of the ocean. The Outdoor Bath, called "Seiki no Yu"- bath under the twinkling Stars, has some Zen Rock Gardens around it--quite relaxing. We stayed in the modern bedroom which was smallish, but clean and had everything we needed.
We had the summertime Half-Board Plan which included an amazing array of Japanese dishes for dinner, beautifully decorated and delicious.
Free Parking was in the Courtyard, the Entrance was a little hard to find, but everyone was helpful. We will stay again.

Had a great time here. Stayed in a Japanese style room (tatami mats and futons) facing the ocean. Spectacular view.

Given yutaka on arrival, which you can wear around the hotel. The baths on the top floor are great, looking out over the ocean with a choice of indoor and outdoor baths.

Dinner in the hotel was a wonderful meal, lots of little dishes with rice cooked at the table, and food constantly being brought to you.

Breakfast was good too, with plenty of choice.

Friendly service, and easy to reach from Atami station.

It was our third stay in this hotel. The KKR hotel is somewhat dated, like many similar facilities that were built during the Japanese bubble economy. Satisfaction depends on the rate you pay, but overall you will get a relatively spacious and clean Japanese or western style room with a great view of the sea and Hatsushima islands. One of the most important factors determining the rating of such hotels is the Japanese Onsen and its natural hot spring water, and KKR does quite well in this regard. The indoor, and outdoor onsen are clean, not too small and pleasant with a great view. The breakfast buffer had nothing extraordinary but it was quite adequate. Free parking was available on site, but another advantage of the hotel is its walking distance proximity to JR Atami station which can be accessed by Shinkansen bullet trains within 45 minutes from Tokyo. The dinner course was quite nice, but it ultimately depends on the price you pay. We arranged with the local fishermen for a fishing trip in the sea, and the front desk provided useful information about that. Overall, the facility is a good 3 star hotel.

Was in another traditional ryokan the day before KKR, so KKR pales in comparison. Only advantage is the fantastic sea view. We booked the package including 2 meals. Dinner was a lot of food - they even include a small pot of sukiyaki. But the abalone & lobster sashima was a small portion. Abalone was a little too hard too.
The room we booked were tatami style, again, as comparison, wasn't as big, & has no bath, only shower. But it seems quite new & clean.
Hotel has public onsen, but it's not available for private bookings, unlike some other hotels.
Hotel willingly picks us up from another hotel the night before, & provides transport in the morning to Atami train station.
KKR is more a hotel than a ryokan, even though it has both Western & Japanese rooms. If you're looking for good sea view, this is a good hotel. But if you want to try a traditional ryokan, there are many out there that offers better choices.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the traditional Japanese dinner is an extra plus!

Only stay for a night and we were a bit late for dinner, only found the dinner average quality, breakfast is nice but we need to run for shinkansen so didn't really eat much. Room is big and spacious but you can tell there are some ages. Room is clean and it come with very nice sea view.

We had a great family reunion here. The hotel has dramatic views of the ocean an even includes an outdoor bath overlooking the ocean. We stayed in the cottage which was spacious and pleasant. The decor was a little dated and could do with a little renovation especially the outdoor bath. The food and service were exceptional overall that made the stay a memorable one.
