We love R&C and stay at their properties all over the world. We arrived from Kyoto by train and used the shuttle bus which was convenient. We were met on arrival and shown to a waiting area for check in. Once the Japanese guests were...More
We spent only 1 night in this luxurious and quiet onset about a half an hour drive outside of Matsumoto.
Our suite was beautiful and had its own Onsen almost touching the trees outside.
There are three public bathing areas of which the deep pool...More
I really loved this Ryokan. We stayed here two nights. I loved our room with the views of the woods. I am so glad we had our own semi-open bath, as it was lovely to sit in our own onsen and hear to the sound...More
We spent one night at Myojinkan. This was our second ryokan stay and it was definitely more luxurious than our first.
The ryokan is located 30 minutes drive from the station in the hills away from town. We caught the free shuttle from the station....More
My husband and I stayed in the Iyashi-style room during our honeymoon in November. Our only regret is not staying more than one night to experience everything Tobira Onsen Myojinkan had to offer.
First, we appreciated the planning emails we received. Even though we did...More

No sign, but we were contacted by the hotel a couple of days before our arrival, and between some questions from them they've attached a map of where you need to meet the van. It's just outside the station and he can has the name of the hotel, so pretty easy to find. If they don't get in contact, I would email them to ask for the map. Enjoy

Yes, there is a very good possibility that there will be snow. I cannot give you a specific room number, however you want to book a Seiryuan Type room. When you make your reservation, which should be now as the ryokan is very popular, specify that you want an outside, open-air bath so that you can hear the passing river. You can only hear the river from outside as most of the rooms windows do not open, which is unfortunate. You can hear the river, but not see it. All rooms basically have the same, hill-facing, view. Pray for snow, it's beautiful.
BTW, there is also a private lounge open from 15:00 - 19:00. It is only available to frequent guests and it's quite pleasant. Complimentary wine and champagne is served. It is my understanding that other guests can gain access at a special rate. You should inquire when you make your reservation.
