It is natural that the location is excellent near Kanazawa Station, the underground parking lot is large, and the restaurants in the building are also substantial. I especially like the many side dishes on small plates for breakfast, the chef's omelet service, and a wide selection of desserts.

We had a fabulous three nights at the Hotel Nikko Kanazawa in February 2023, staying in a Double Comfort room. As the name suggests, it was comfortable with a fabulous view over the station and beyond. The hotel is really good value and tremendously well located being connected with an undercover walkway to the amazing Kanazawa Station.

The hotel's concierge was so helpful to us. Since we were in town for only a few days and had twice previously stayed at the Nikko, we new that the good restaurants would be booked out - so we corresponded in advance with the concierge by email. Over several emails we narrowed down where we would like to go, which they booked for us. On arrival (and without prompting) they gave us all the details we needed to get to our booking. After checking in, they had other suggestions for us.

The range and quality of the breakfast buffet is very good, as is the Skyline bar for a late night drink.

The Nikko is also within walking distance not only of the station, but also the fabulous Omicho Market and the restaurants and bars surrounding it.

We had a great view of Kanazawa and the sea beyond. The hotel is literally across the street from Kanazawa station. The room was decent size (we reserved a 2 twin bed room which was larger than the queen bed room). There was a hot water kettle as well as tea and single serve coffee. The room was a little dated but it was clean and the sheets/duvet were white. Breakfast was more varied that we had expected with many choices.

Very elegant and refined modern high rise hotel across from the impressive Kanazawa main train station and shopping mall. Comfortable room, good beds and fantastic shower - instant hot water and blasting water pressure! Japanese breakfast is in a lovely setting with a garden courtyard. Only flaw is the excessive number of teeny tiny plastic toiletries - disappointing to see such unnecessary waste. Management should be encouraged to install large refillable dispensers instead for soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Easy fix and much better for the environment!

The Nikko Hotel Kanazawa is located under 5 brief minutes walk from the train . Station.

It is absolutely beautiful and the customer service is most excellent.

I was on the 21st floor and my view was outstanding. I could see all the way to the ocean.

Check in / Out : total breeze
Fast and efficient since I did not pre pay, upon check out o settled my bill. And if you have been following the yen, this worked out to my absolute favor

Room : comfort double.
It came with all the comforts they promised.
I loved that I could stream Netflix when I was unwinding at night.
The pillow and mattress suited me fine

Restaurant : I had the opportunity to enjoy 3 breakfasts at the hotel and on one day I was offered the option to eat at the Japanese restaurant for Japanese breakfast. I could not believe my luck. The set menu was absolutely decadent and divine. I was even served Fugu (blow fish ) this blew me away. Get it ? Hahah. All honesty it was spectacular and just shows you the caliber of this hotel.

I also enjoyed their sky lounge for some heavy snacks and cocktails overlooking beautiful Kanazawa. It’s so peaceful.

The lobby is also so very inviting with extremely comfortable sofas and chairs.

This hotel spoiled me I’m truly happy
Thank you

Decent hotel rooms, but basics of hospitality are lacking, if you want a drink at the bar with your friends you get chased away if it hadn’t been planned in advanced, we tried 3 bars today for a drink from 4pm and couldn’t even get a beer, returned back at 9pm to be told the only bar is full when there are 4 chairs visibly available. shouldn’t be this difficult to get a beer in a hotel and enjoy some down time. Sitting in room bleak.

Nice hotel located a 5 minute walk from Kanazawa train station (and from where the city Loop buses depart ). The room size was slightly above average by Japanese standards. The TV was mounted on the side wall to the bed, rather than at the foot, which made for awkward viewing. Multiple restaurants on-site although we ate only breakfast in the hotel, it was very good. We used the Takkyubin luggage service via the Bell Desk and everything worked perfectly. Recommended.

This hotel is rated as the second best hotel in Kanazawa. That's absurd, as it was a big letdown.

Like many hotels in Japan, the hotel doesn't use fitted sheets, so sheets come off the bed during the night. The elevator doesn't work well, and you need to push the button for your floor 20+ times to get it to work, every single time. We somehow ended up in a smoking room which was terrible but admittedly our fault as it seems we didn't check while we made the booking. Connecting to the Wifi is an ordeal, it takes 10+ minutes to do it, and all the hotel staff had to say about it is that "it often does that".

There is no gym at the hotel, which again is pretty common in Japan.

All in all, you end up paying way too much for what you get. I have to believe there are way better options available.

Second stay at this hotel, went back after a good first time. However, my second stay was not so good. Booked a Comfort Double Room, got upgraded to the Luxe floor double room (which basically means a higher floor with a different layout). Sadly, the Luxe room has your bathroom sink right next to your bed which I found quite strange. If you forgot your towel, you had to walk wet through your room to grab one. Apart from the interesting layout, the rooms seem to be more susceptible to neighboring noises. Lots of banging, bumping, slamming was coming from both sides which made it the worst sleep on my vacation. Recommend don't go for the 22sq rooms, they suck.

The hotel room is very big; location is excellent. Service was top notch. The staff at concierge was very helpful to advise on restaurants and the bus pass. The Japanese breakfast was of high quality! We had great experience here and will definitely stay here again next time we visit Kanazawa!

Would love to help you with this question, unfortunately only stopped over night and did not need to use the laundry, check our their individual web page and it would mention whether they had laundry or not. A lot of the hotels in Japan have laundry facilities which are coin operated.

Hi Robert We used their laundry service and found the prices reasonable, but can’t remember exact cost. Hand in before 10.00 am to receive back same day between 5.00 and 6.00 pm.

Japanese hotels usually go by age + bed plan. - Children above 12 years old pay full price. - Children 12 years and below with their own bed pay full (sometimes discounted) price. - Children 12 years and below sharing bed stay free of charge. The email of the reservations desk at the hotel is found right at the bottom of the home page. Tried to include it here, but it is not allowed. Hope it helps.
