第二次世界大戦でも空襲に見舞われずに済み、江戸時代がそのまま随所に残ったままの奇跡の城下町「金沢」。最近では、工芸都市とか、創造都市としても、その存在感を世界に向けて顕在化させている。
そんな金沢の街のど真ん中に位置しながら、何故か清閑な環境にあるという…、まことに不思議な奇跡の宿と云っても良いでしょう。…よくぞ、こんな場所にこんな不思議な宿が残っていたものだ…。誰もが感じ入ってしまうようなタイムスリップ感覚いっぱいの町家建ての宿です。旅館という外観ではなくて、普通の旧い江戸時代から続く小ぶりの武家屋敷といった感じです。
それでいて、歩いて100m程度で金沢市役所、金沢21世紀美術館、金沢城公園、片町、香林坊、竪町などへ、容易に行けてしまいます。金沢をじっくり堪能するには、これ以上に好立地の宿は多分ないだろう…、と想われます。しかも素泊まりで3,500円(…いや確か、素泊まりしかなかったか、…)という、信じられないような泊まり料金です。
宿で出迎えてくれるのは、笑顔の素敵な細身のスタイルgooの女将さん!! 更に時々顔を会わせることのある、こちらもたまらなく笑顔の素敵な長身の息子さん。?? そして、日昼にお手伝いに来ている知人のお姉さん。!? の３人です。 おっと、忘れていました。誰よりも先に出迎えてくれる愛猫が２匹(存在感たっぷりで)いらっしゃいました。
この宿の自慢は、前(と後ろ)にある分厚い土塀に囲まれた和の庭。特に前庭には、樹齢300年以上とも云われる「赤松の古木」がみごとな枝ぶりを見せています。
お風呂やトイレの水回りは、最近全面改修をされたそうで、ポプリなどもさりげなく置かれていて、とってもきれいでおしゃれに管理されていました。
特に女性数人の仲良しグループなどで連泊するには、もううってつけの宿だなぁ…、と感じました。!!

観光にも適したロケーションを有しており、とてもリーズナブルで、『ただ金沢に泊まる』ということに関して言うと、十分と言える。ただし、ひと様のお家・・・。いろいろと制限はあり、自由気ままに！というわけにはいかない。素泊まりだが、門限がある。タオルは借りられるが、入浴できる時間も限られる。昔ながらの民家であり、鍵はなく、薄い引き戸や壁に防音は施されてはいない。廊下を歩けば軋み、音を立てずに扉を開けたり階段を昇降することは不可能。他の宿泊者や家人への心配りが必要であり、規律正しく、静かに過ごせるひと向き。よい見方をすれば、風情があり、金沢旅行の情緒にどっぷりと浸れる、と言える。ただし、猫アレルギーの方は、やめた方が良い。

散歩気分で、21世紀美術館、金沢城に兼六園にも長町、ひがし、にし、主計茶屋街、どこでも行けちゃう最高の立地条件。足で稼げば満足度100％、心地よい疲労感が知的好奇心を刺激する。
お値打ちな宿泊費なので連泊して、金沢の隅から隅までみてみよう。
学生に戻ったみたいで、旅館ではなく下宿っていう感じが懐かしい。
