Encircled by all the must-see spots of Kanazawa (a.k.a. "little Kyoto"), Kaname Inn Tatemachi is only a few minutes' walk from everything you could want in a trip to this "City of Gold." Additionally, the beautifully structured Kanazawa Station readily and regularly connects to the best of the Hokuriku countryside; Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and the many Noto and Kaga onsens tucked away in the mountainous landscape are all an easy day-trip away. On top of all this, restaurants of all flavors surround the centuries-old shopping promenade of Tatemachi Street on which we reside. And at night, the street softens and glows, providing a welcome return from the bustling nightlife in the downtown Katamachi district, and a restful slumber in a private, zen-like space for your Japan adventures, making our location one of the best you could get during your Kanazawa stay.

Detailed Reviews
My stay here was amazing, specially to all the friendly staff, every one of them. They went above and beyond offering their help when i needed to sort some things out here in Japan. They even helped me out to practice my awful japanese language every time we spoke. I greatly recommend the bar/restaurant downstairs. High quality food and drinks with a nice atmosphere and music.
Location is right in front of the walking street, so it's not noisy at all and within walking distance to many of the main places you would like to visit.
Thanks for making my stay a memorable one and being able to enjoy this beautiful city!

I can't thank enough the team of Kaname Inn Tatemachi during my stay. Haruki san, Hiroki san, Ted san, Ayumi, etc. and of course the one and only brilliant Hiroshi san- the owner, took such great care of us, that I will never forget their generosity, efficiency , professionalism and kind hearts. My stay felt like family, the level of hospitality friendliness is simply amazing. The food at Kaname Inn Music bar downstairs is delicious- i loved it, their Chef is so good!! The hotel is very comfortable, well thought on little details, everything is in very supreme solid quality condition, very clean, the mattress is very comfortable, rooms are soundproof, i had such a good sleep and rest there, it is a very quiet neibourghhood. i absolutely loved my stay. I am grateful and will remember everyone with smile and warm feeling. Also i have to say there is something special in atmosphere of Tatemachi street, its special, something magical in the ambience. You will not regret if you choose to stay there. I also think that Kanazawa and Kaname inn deserves to be supported during Covid times. Kaname Inn is a private business, where the team works hard to be better every single day. Guests are treated with personal approach on a name basis. Such a highlight of my stay in Japan. Unforgettable. Thank you guys!!

The hotel has a very nice design, looks very new and modern. The location is the centre of the city - the area has a very good vibe. Downstairs there is a cocktail bar, with some nice music always played on LP and the speakers there.. worth to check it out.
The rooms are very clean with big windows and nice view.
The staff is very friendly, there is always a person who speaks English, they are always willing to give some recommendations where to go and just basically everyone there looks like cool people!
If you're lucky, sometimes the do live music concerts in their terrace!

Really enjoyed the 2-night stay. The music bar is just fabulous and worth relaxing every evening after long day touring or before heading out for dinner. Mainly music between 60’s -80’s.
Staff was super cool and kept us on our toes hitting restaurants, sites, and bars. We want to come back.

An amazing two night stay! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also discovered their local tea blend of Kaga-Bocha plus chamomile. Ended up purchasing some for gifts. Would love to come back again! Can’t forget the bar attached: Kanazawa Music Bar. Fantastic DJ that played a plethora of records and had truly inspirational local craft mixed drinks!

We had our room on the top floor with a fantastic view over Kanazawa. It was more like an appartment with kitchen and living room. Modern design an nice tech features. The staff was super friendly and recommended two good restaurants close by. The music bar on the groundfloor is pricey but cool. We would stay here again anytime. thank you!

The hotel is in an area of shops and restaurants. A bit far from thr Station especially if you have heavy luggage (like i did).
But the place really makes up for it. BIG rooms, especially for Japan, very clean, neat and well, but simply appointed. water
And tea in the room, fridge waiting to be filled out.
The personel is great, everyone was really nice and helpful.
The great win is the bar, that opens at 4pm everyday. They have a great collection of Japanese alcohol, their own cocktails and a very knowledgablr bartender.
The music is also very good and adds a lot to the ambience. Would 10/10 recommend,

The music bar is great.
The tea and water were good.
Staff recommendations were nice, even though I didn`t use them.
Top floor tub was big.
(-)
The sofa was dirty. It`s the first thing you notice when you enter the room.
The blankets are too thick for summer.
No Prime or Netflix capability that I could use, even on my own account.

Kaname Inn was Recommended by a friend who lives and runs his own small inn in Kyoto and is very particular. We were so happy my friend and I that we chose this property.
Located on a pedestrian thoroughfare with great little shops and restaurants on either side. Took Taxi from train station.. not expensive 10-15 mins approx. best drop off point is McDonald’s Tatamachi as it is pedestrian mainly mall. Drivers all know it. Short walk from here.
I was on 7th floor facing street, corner room loved as could open window. Bit of noise from music playing in its record bar below but it was so good I loved it. Could only hear with window open.
Super clean rooms which is essential. Modern and minimal furniture. White and bright. We liked the change after weeks of Ryokans and traditional accom.
Comfy pillows, doonas, mattress a touch firmer but used to this in Japan.
Front desk were truly exceptional in their level of assistance. Rachel, Karen .. just everyone, Thankyou. Made bookings for us ninja temple, got in for next day, restaurant and gave brilliant suggestions booked taxi For return to station front door pick up.
Didn’t like breakfast first morn as others have said so we just walked and found a fabulous French patisserie about ten mins walk away near river and samurai district .. so many restaurants everywhere of all types. But from 1 November they have changed their breakfast .. it was fantastic!!! So we had two mornings of this highlighting local produce..Set meal. Healthy. I loved that. Little menu with descriptions of where produce came from. A great change. Felt really at home here. Travelling solo ?? Great spot as the record bar is so welcoming and a great friendly place to chat to other travellers. Just book it! Hope this review helps .. click helpful if it does so I know I’m targeting right info to help travellers. I love using TripAdvisor’s reviews so want to also give back to the community. Kaname Inn was a really good find. Location is great to walk to the castle and art centre, everywhere else can be reached via the loop buses. Plenty of shops nearby. Loved the spacious feel. I was on the 7th floor - loved the natural light. It’s very minimalist and my room had no tv. But the bed was comfy, it was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly.

A good question, but I don't know.
We do not have a laundromat on premises, but there is a nearby coin laundromat about 5 minutes' walk away.
We will give you a Map directions from Kaname Inn to the laundromat, located on the first floor of the Fujita Bldg when you arrived.
Normally on the weekdays, Japanese style plate is served with steamed rice and miso soup and on Saturdays and Sundays, buffet style breakfast is served. Ask the front staff which style it's going to be. Also, Twice a month, at Kaname Bar down the street, American style brunch is available. Check the schedule with the front desk staff.
