Detailed Reviews
If, like us, you are seeking local character then this hotel is ideal. If you want luxury and spacious rooms, this is not for you. The highlights include the central position, the friendly and helpful staff and the cozy little bar area with home made interesting drinks. The rooms are definitely small and you may struggle if you have big bags although one of our couples did manage with two ski bags! How much time are you planning on spending in the room? We were there two nights and our days were busy sightseeing. The bar serves some very interesting drinks; homemade plum wine, a complimentary spiced hot chocolate and a ginger highball for example. We came in one night to the wonderful aroma of the ginger cooking. The hotel does not officially serve breakfast but they do a very good coffee and you can get a ‘toast set’ which includes coffee, toast and spreads and a small bowl of yoghurt with nuts. There is also quite a choice of biscuits and also cake. The staff speak sufficient English and helped with directions, booking restaurants, booking the Ninja temple tour. It’s only a 5 minute walk to the castle and then onto the Kenrokuen gardens. It’s a 15 minute walk to the station but if you don’t want to drag your bags, hop on a bus and get off at the Market stop. The hotel is very close to the market and general shopping area. We were very happy with our stay there as we find the more luxury hotel to be characterless- we could be anywhere.

+1
We chose this hotel as it was situated centrally for everything that we wanted to see, and found that it was a perfect location. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and their restaurant tips were just brilliant. The room itself was on the small side, but this seems typical of Japanese hotels. Nevertheless, it was a comfortable night’s sleep and the room was well equipped. Unfortunately the walls were quite thin which meant we could hear a lot from neighbouring rooms, and we also had the smell of cigarette smoke wafting in each morning of our stay. Overall, it was very adequate for our needs with the added bonus of a good cup of coffee.

Good coffee shop playing 24 hour jazz music. Tight fit in rooms for 2 people. Hanging spaces are brackets on walls and snug fit, pre-fabricated moulded bathroom. Daily clean of rooms is efficient. Supplies are kept up of pyjamas, toiletries, teabags. No luxury, good basics and clean.

All the staff at this hotel are wonderful, from the receptionists to the cleaners. I would particularly like to mention Yurika who is outstanding - her beautiful smile will make everyone happy! I felt more welcomed here than anywhere else I have ever stayed. Every time I came back to the hotel I was greeted with a genuine warm welcome. I always felt at home.
The hotel is small and cosy (in a good way). There is a cute bar/cafe in the entrance way. The hotel and it's rooms are immaculately clean. My room, even though it was small, had all the facilities that I could need - ensuite bathroom/toilet, TV (with access to Youtube), hair dryer, towels, pajames, slippers, etc.
The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting the Omicho fish market, the castle ground and gardens, and a short walk to the two Chaya districts.

Me and my wife stayed at Hotel Pacific for 4D/3N and had a very good stay. The rooms are very cozy with very good light seeping in from the windows. There is a cafe downstairs at the small lobby that is very cute and a water refilling station. What really worked for us additionally was the fact that it was close to Omicho market (~150 mtrs) and Kanazawa castle (~700 mtrs). It is also very close to the bus stop and is convenient to get to Kanazawa station by bus (only a stop or two away). The staff is really helpful and helped us during our stay. We would highly recommend staying here at this hotel considering the good value, cleanliness and would look forward to staying here in future as well.

A fabulous hotel in a great location just a 15 minute walk from the train / bus station, and easily walkable to everything else including the fabulous market next door! Great rooms which are immaculately clean, great staff, very reasonably priced, and good breakfast and coffee (both not included). Why would you stay anywhere else?

This hotel was very cute! It’s a close walk to most major sites (the market, Kenroku-en). We also really enjoyed the coffee in the lobby. While the room is small, it’s quiet, clean and comfortable for two people. Overall, we thought this was a great value!

We stayed there for 5 nights as 2 couples. The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes walk in straight line from the train station, and is just above the fish market.
The hotel lobby is a small coffee shop - and unfortunately we did not visit.
The rooms are small - but it's the average in all japan - so it's not a big deal. There is a washing machine and a dryer - just like everywhere in japan it did not work good for our clothes - (you put the freshener and the detergent at the same time on top of your clothes and the dryer doesn't really do anything - and we put our clothes thrice through it).
The hotel room has a mini fridge and a seven eleven and familymart close by - which is nice for a room dinner/breakfast.
The location all in all and the price payed per night is very fair - we almost didn't use public transportation at all.
another great thing - the free JRPASS buss from the train station stops next to the fish market, so you can enjoy it for free to move around.
the hotel supports the suitcase sending service-which was really comfortable.
Will stay again on our next trip for sure :D

I think it's overpriced for what it is and the rooms aren't as nice as they look on the photos. The reception area has been renovated nicely but the rest is just a low quality old apartment building which has been cleaned up. Our room was tiny. The walls were so thin that I got woken up in the morning by the alarm of the room next door. The location is only OK - it's a long walk to both Kenrokuen and the modern art museum which are the main attractions of Kanazawa. You can stay in a nicer room in a business hotel for less.

Yes, it is quiet
畳のお部屋は3階になります。
The tatami room is on the 3rd floor.
I took a cab to the hotel on arrival. It was less than 10 minutes to drive - no traffic. Affordable, with cabs queued right outside the train station. Gave the driver the address in Japanese and didn't have any problems. In hindsight I could have walked, and did walk back for my departure. However it was dark on arrival and it had been a long travel day - I didn't regret the cab. The walk back was about 20 mins and very easy, flat walk with 22" luggage.
They will definitely take your luggage - we had the same dilemma - it was no problem! Enjoy Kanazawa!
