WiFi is available but the signal was very weak in our room.
The lady in reception spoke quite good English and she was very helpful with suggestions of places to visit and getting around.
We had a great stay here. I would thoroughly recommend it, and also Kanazawa as a place to visit.
The location is excellent, 3 minutes from the train/bus station.
Comfortable room for a reasonable price; very good breakfast for just 800 Y (she made a veggie breakfast for me and a normal one for my daughter).
Unlike traditional ryokans, which often leak a lot in wintertime, the rooms are well isolated and have own airco/heating.
Wifi does work in the room (our room was on 3rd floor).
The sento bath is a real pleasure after walking a lot in the city.
I'd select the same inn if I come back to Kanazawa
WIFI in common area but not in room.
Nice breakfast for additional cost. In house Onsen!
It was easy and convenient. The hosts did not give us any advice about what to see and do - We relied on the local information booth at the train station (very close!)
There is also a cute little grocery store with a variety of offerings nearby that we went to a couple of times.
Unfortunately the building is a bit non-descript (but then again, most buildings in Japan are) and the rooms could do with a bit of renovation. They are still, though, more than worth their price.
The proprietress deserves a mention, too. She invited us to have a dinner at the staff/family table after offering us a glass of wine. She speaks also some english, but it helps if you speak Japanese (like I did!). Even a little amount of Japanese helps the communication.
The owner was so kind and friendly, she even lent me bicylce for free.
The only negatives were that the rooms were not that big and because the building is relatively new, you could hear the other guests if they were being noisy.
At 3,800 this place is great value.
"The western style rooms we saw were quite small - the tatami room we had was much bigger and more fun. If you are worried about sleeping on futons you can always ask for additional layers, but the experience of sleeping Japanese style in a lovely tatami room is definitely worth trying."Read full review
