This hotel is located within Kanazawa station, so it's a very convenient if you want to travel by either trains or buses.

There are a lot of eateries nearby and places for shopping as well.

The main drawback was the bed and pillows. I got body ache and headache after two days staying there.

So conveniently located at Kanazawa Station. Can access from 1st floor right after arriving off train. We had wet weather so was very glad we chose this hotel. Quiet and very comfortable and lots of restaurants, 7 11, Starbucks, etc. Also, buses outside. You can buy day pass for 800 yen. There is a circular bus loop around city that gives you access to lots of sights. Goes from 7 bus stop. You can also use pass on local buses.

Our wonderful travel agent, Ari Westmoreland with IACE Travel, arranged nights at several of the Via Inn Hotels---Kanazawa, Nagoya and Shin-Osaka. The hotels are very nice with Beautyrest mattresses and very convenient to Japan Rail stations. The hotels are quiet and the Shin-Osaka breakfasts are great. The price is very reasonable.

If you're coming from another city to Kanazawa and want a convenient and affordable location, Via Inn is your best bet. If this is your first trip to the city and you're not sure of how to get around, this hotel is basically fool proof.

Located within the Kanazawa station, the hotel is easy to find, with lots of food and shopping options just a few steps away.

The room is a standard business hotel, and is a decent size by Japanese standards. Choose the room configuration that has the table and bench setup. It's slightly bigger than the standard table-against-window setup. And it's great for eating bentos and watching TV.

There's a convenience store and shopping centre on the ground floor, a super market in the building connected to the hotel and plenty of food options.

Only tiny grouse (if you can even call it that) is how the lift works. You enter on the ground floor, the reception is on the 3rd, and hotel rooms are on the higher floors. Doesn't matter which button you press, the lift will always take you to the reception floor.

Staff are polite, speak English and will keep your luggage for you.

Good stay.

I didn’t understand from the map that it’s in the station so I looked for it outside. But it’s right at the exit of the gates, very comfortable to travel. And just outside the station you find the bus taking you to the sights, you can buy a 24h pass for 500 yen at the tourist office. The lobby is on the third floor, the staff is kind in spite of speaking very basic English. The room was small, like everywhere in Japan, but clean and quiet. The pillow was very hard, I had to sleep without it. The bathroom is small but new and clean. No shower cap, no hair dryer. Breakfast is at a bar of the station, not special. WiFi is good.

If you are travelling in Japan by public transport, this is a superb hotel choice.
It is right within the impressive Kanazawa station with its private entrance. The lobby is on level 3 and the rooms are on floors above. Quiet, clean and nice. You won't feel the business of the station below you.
Great access to many restaurants and shops within the station, also the shipping mall Forus.
You won't miss the train or bus.

Situated inside JR Kanazawa Station, Via Inn is super convenient for transport.
There are loads of shops and restaurants inside the station as well, even a super market downstairs at 2F. Hotel room is small but adequate, perfect for a short stay.
Only downside I found is that breakfast choices are very limited. There are a few cafes open early but that's about it. Can't even find a Sukiya nearby.

Hotel is right inside Kanazawa Station - extremely convenient. Prices are ok.. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a convenient location. No breakfast is provided in the hotel but you can buy a breakfast coupon from them and go to a near-by café/restaurant for breakfast. Wi-Fi is only available in the hotel lobby.

A very basic one. But when taking into account the price and convenience, I consider this hotel deserves a Very Good rating.

When I stayed here for three days in the first week of 2013 with snow fall throughout out. Because the hotel is right above the JR station and in front of the well equipped bus teminal, I didn't encountered much problem with the cold weather. I could travel easily and conveniently to different places around the city and enjoy the many eateries available by the station. The landmark market was also at walking distance from the station. When the weather was better, I enjoyed the walk pretty much.

The big thing going for the hotel is that it is lierally above the train station, in the same complex. The entrance is on the same level as the tourist office. The hotel itself is just a general Japanese business hotel. That means no English channels on the TV and strict check-in and check-out times. The room we had seemed quite worn, by Japanese standards, but the rate wasn't high.
If, like us, you are just staying one night and spending minimal time in the room then it is very handy.
