We enjoyed our stay at the Kanazawa New Grand Premier. Our room was larger than expected, clean with comfy beds and excellent amenities. The location was close to shopping, the Kanazawa Castle, and restaurants. We were especially pleased with the breakfast, which had lots of Western as well as Japanese, choices including fresh fruit and yogurt (hard to come by elsewhere!) , attractively presented.

This was a lovely hotel with decent sized rooms - bigger than most in Japan. Our room had a little sitting area, which was quite nice. It was in a good location within walking distance of many sights. They had US-style washcloths, which we loved! There was decent shelf space for toiletries in the bathroom and a good number of towel bars and hooks, but the toilet paper was terrible – some of the worst we’ve encountered anywhere – a lot like tissue paper. They provide daily housekeeping service – another positive. The staff was very friendly, but there was not much English spoken amongst them. Breakfast was just OK, but was certainly sufficient. Overall, it was very nice and we’d stay again.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and it was very god overall. Good size room with 2 large beds, closet and all the amenities. The location was great, near everything and you could walk to almost every sight. Right across from the Oyama Jinja Shrine, a short walk to the Kanazawa Castle, Kenrouken Garden, Omi-cho Market, shopping district and other attractions like the Naga-machi district and other places. Good breakfast both Japanese and Western style. I certainly would recommend it to friends and relatives.

Room Tip: Ask for 2 beds instead of a double bed. I think they are slightly larger rooms.

We had a really great time. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly, pleasant and helpful. The location is amazing, close to many sights, shopping and restaurants. We also loved the decor of the hotel, very charming. The room was spacious and had a very nice bathroom. Would definitely stay there again!

Hotel is clean. Rooms ok. We stayed in room 1051 and it smelled bad. Could not get another room. The breakfast is ok the eggs are always runny. For the price it ok. I guess its just ok. Our room had a bat tub.

The New Grand Hotel Premier is conveniently located in Kanazawa, right next door to its sister hotel The Kanazawa Grand. Nice sized rooms. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. No restaurant or bar. They are both located next door in the Grand.

A better facility than most in this class, conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and areas of interest. The sleeping rooms were slightly larger than the first two facilities of the tour. Hotel staff command of English fair.

This hotel is in a good location, but other than that, we did not enjoy our stay here. As you enter the room, you get a strong smell that smelled like a dead mouse. Luckily, once in the room the smell went away. We had dropped something accidentally behind a piece of furniture and when we pulled the furniture away from the wall to retrieve it, there was a lot of garbage on the floor.

The room was a decent size by Japanese standards, but the air conditioning did not work, the TV was tiny with only 3 Japanese channels, the shower had a 1/2 curtain and the folding hair dryer did not stay open. The soundproofing was poor and there was no safe. We should have changed rooms but didn't feel like moving after we settled in. Others were also complaining of the air conditioning.

Breakfasts were both Western and Japanese and adequate.

Location is brilliant, in the centre of Kanazawas main attractions. It is difficult to complain about facilities, but it was not as good as the other hotels where we stayed in Japan. The room was good. Probably our main disappointment was service, the only place where no one helped us with luggage, and reception were little help as to where to go. We went to the bar on the top floor of the main hotel. A superb view, but competent rather than friendly service, and very expensive.
We did not wish to eat in the hotel, nor did we want sushi, a very definite speciality of Kanazawa. We found a Japenese bar called Ryo in a street by the canal nearby and had an excellent and very inexpensive meal.

Large comfortable room with a reasonable view. Friendly helpful staff who were able to point us in the right direction for dinner. Close to all the sights. Free WiFi and a wide range for breakfast. The twin room was slightly larger than our neighbours' double but both had all the amenities expected in Japanese hotels.
