Bar has not been open since Covid but is still advertised. Hot rooms with no control over temperature. Buffet breakfast was stone cold. Lounge area was also closed . Good location which they failed to capitalise on

Discovered this hotel - a great find. Location is directly across from the castle, restaurants and market within walking distance - train station is a long walk but OK without luggage.
Staff were very friendly, we speak very little Japanese - they were very helpful.
A great city for cycling, old samurai area etc.

A pleasant and reasonable hotel, near most of the sights one may wish to visit on a short trip to Kanazawa. Bright and spacious entrance hall, and friendly staff with excellent suggestions. Europeans may wish to avoid the Asian breakfast, but the French menus in the evening, at the Ibis Restaurant, are "par excellence", and a welcome break from Japanese food. The multi-course dinners are served in French style throughout.

The KKR Kanazawa is across the street from Kanazawa Castle Park and a short walk from Kenrokuen, one of the top three gardens in Japan. Neither the park or garden could possibly disappoint and the hotel was wonderful. They have a fabulous buffet breakfast and the rooms are nice. Be sure to specify a Western style room as the Japanese style rooms can be quite small. The staff were very pleasant, but that goes without saying in Japan. There were some nice restaurants nearby; we are vegan so were delighted to eat the Los Angeles cafe one block away. The proprietor there has a brother that owns a cafe in LA, hence the name. Kanazawa was the best part of our trip to Japan, lots of things to see like the market, many temples and shrines, and plenty of art and culture. When we go back to Japan we will stay here again.

The KKR Hotel is in an excellent location directly across from the castle and a short walk to the famous garden and covered market. It is spacious in an American sort of way with big windows, a lobby cafe, two restaurants (the tatami Japanese restaurant was very relaxing and excellent), and an accommodating desk staff willing to perform concierge-type services. The rate structure seemed a bit confusing.

Stayed here as part of a Wendy Wu Japan uncovered tour. The beds were the best we’d stayed in, nearly a double size each, and the room was spacious with a sitting area and TV. The bathroom was in comparison small and the bath was very small. Breakfast was basic for western food but a large selection of Japanese food. Great location for Kanazawa Castle park which is just opposite the hotel.

I really enjoyed the hotel here. It was basic in amenities but very clean and the staff was really nice. I even forgot a clothing item there and they shipped it to me! It was very close to the beautiful garden and palace and to several great sushi places! I would return for a good rate....

I stayed for 2 days in Kanazawa and really liked the hotel. Well allocated in frobt of the palace and also close to the gardens, you can not ask for more.
I forgot a watch in the room and when i contacted them, they offered to send it wherever i wanted. I asked to be sent to a friends house in Tokio and the did. Really proffessional and helpfull.
I will repeat hotel for sure when i come back to kanazawa.

This is a hotel with a very good location very close to the castle and Kenroku-en gardens
The room was tiny, we had to stack the furniture just to be able to get to the beds. Absolutely no room to open a suitcase
Breakfast was poor with way too many people for the size of the restaurant
So many empty plates and a scrum for coffee
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

We made the reservation last minute through a hotel booking site so didn't expect a fantastic room. However, the broom cupboards at the rear of the hotel are truly, truly awful. Stained and worn chairs, chipped headboards, chunks out of wall, damaged bathroom door - all showing a lack of interest. A total difference to anywhere else we have stayed in Japan. Obviously the owners are making a large profit from tour companies and see absolutely no need to spend any money on this establishment.
We had dinner at the hotel which was overpriced and mediocre. The staff were pleasant but the restaurant, like the rest of the hotel needed refurbishment and lacked any atmosphere. As others have observed breakfast OK, just that.
The two stars are for the nice staff, especially the cleaning staff who make such a great job of servicing the rooms against all odds and the barman who makes an excellent Gin and Tonic.
