Typical Japanesse Ryokan and unique. Is a little apart from Takayama but they have the bus stop at only 1 minute from the Ryokan (real).
I totally recommend it, quite and very clean. They have breakfast and lunch (with previous reservation) and its own Onsen!...More

I can definitely recommend Ryokan Murayama. The accommodation we had was great, two spacious rooms, an excellent bathroom. One of the rooms had an elegant display set up with some earthenware.
The rooms were spotless.

About market I don`t know, but ryokan Murayama is worth to visit. You should order japanese style dinner a day in advance. It will be tasty, with many different dishes and not expensive.
