Big old American-style Sheraton type Hotel on the outskirts of Nagoya. Noisy to the front, quiet to the castle side. But for the same type of room you pay extra to the castle side of rooms.(30US$!) Free gym and pool access only when one becomes a member of the Sheraton Club. Had to pay 1000 Yen extra to enter small...

Thank you very much for staying at The Westin Nagoya Castle. As you pointed out, the Library Cafe on the 8th floor is not available for guests staying at Standard room. We offer the access for guests who stay at Superior room or higher, and charge 1,000 yen for their companions. We apologize for inconveniences, but we hope you could...

It's been a disappointing stay for me as I have still have high expectation of Westin brand in general despite reading negative comments regarding room upgrade here. Needless to say, those reviews are very true as I have experienced it myself tonight. I have 2 rooms on the same night, one booked as part of group tour and another one...

Thank you very much for staying at The Westin Nagoya Castle. We regret that the room assignment didn’t meet your satisfaction on your stay this time. The room upgrade depends on the room availability on that day. Thank you again for your valued feedback. We hope to welcome you again when you visit Nagoya in the future. Sincerely,

This hotel is almost 50 years old and the investments for necessary upgrades have been kept at a minimum. Some rooms provide nice views of the castle. We had three double rooms for single use. None of them was really quiet. Only one of the floors is a dedicated non-smoking floor. We signed up for Starwood memberships and got into...

Don't expect a five-star hotel. Except the lobby I didn't find anything worth five stars. The location is kind of remote and the room is furnished quite unpractical. The TV is on the right side of your bed about 1 m above your head. Just to name one detail. Considering a price of ¥15,000 per night excluding breakfast I would...

The staff in this hotel did their best to make me feel completely uncomfortable. I'm really surprised that this is part of the Starwood group. The standards are really poor. The hotel lists among its amenities an indoor pool, spa and fitness centre. This is not true. These are in a nearby building across the road, outside of the hotel,...

Thank you very much for staying at The Westin Nagoya Castle. We also appreciate for using our fitness club and restaurant. However, we deeply apologize for delivering you an insufficient service. We charge 1500JPY for fitness club use for our staying guests, too. Also considering hygiene problems, we ask everyone for wearing a swimming cap in the pool even after...

Love this hotel. Always have. One of the few issues I've had has been the slooooooooooow WiFi. Much to my surprise, WiFi seems to have been upgraded - complimentary and super-fast. About time! :) Free breakfast for Plats went away a couple of years ago, but the castle view almost makes up for that.

We had a great view of Nagoya Castle that was worth the stay. However, the hotel needs to be renovated--the rooms and public areas are very dated. Also, the restaurants are not up typical eating standards in Japan. We had room service, but it was awful. Would suggest that you go back to the train station to eat dinner.

Thank you very much for staying at The Westin Nagoya Castle. We recognize that our facility’s aging is one of the issues to be solved. Those issues will be prioritized and improved. I will share your comment regarding meal standard to our restaurant staffs to increase our food quality. We appreciate your valued feedback. We are looking forward to serving...

The Westin Nagoya Castle is a modern, Western style hotel across from Nagoya Castle. We had a room on the 7th floor with two beds and a beautiful castle view. We were surprised with the negative comments on the Starwood Hotels website as well as a few on TA. It seemed like the majority of negative comments were related to...

For a Westin I was expecting better. As always in Japan we shouldn't choose a single room because they are always minuscule. Its very difficult to open the bags and have some space to walk freely on the room. So. on the second night i ask for a better and quiet room. And I have it. Double room, castle view....

Thank you very much for staying at The Westin Nagoya Castle. We appreciate to receive your valued feedback. We recommend Twin or Double room on Castle side since single rooms are rather small. You can enjoy beautiful Nagoya Castle with cherry blossom in this season. Please visit Nagoya again in spring and experience a wonderful view at our hotel. We...

As others have posted, the hotel is old and tired and not cheap by Nagoya standards. Can easily get a much better room at another 5* chain at the same price. The bathroom was small and a bit smelly and there were water stains on the ceiling in the room. Having said that, the view is absolutely unbeatable; especially in...
