Business lodging in the coal mining town is best here. The big baobab tree is more than 600 years old. Order drinks and food to enjoy while sitting below the tree and get view of the town from this spot. See the colliery stadium, golf club and Coronation drive cut through the town's business center from Western side of the... More

Its a very good place for a business stay. Their food is nice and the drinks are affordable. It is also a great place for families....its location on the hilltop offers a very nice aerial view of the city's Western suburbs. Ohhh before I forget there are also frequent visitors to the place.....monkeys and baboons!!! Believe me they won't give... More

We stopped for a leg stretch and comfort break en route from Vic Falls to Hwangwe. It does offer a great view over Hwangwe and the toilets were clean. Never stayed there. There was no-one at the reception and there appeared to be few people around.

Untouched since the 1960's, it's faded grandeur was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We didn't stay but had a lovely freshly cooked lunch outside under the baobab tree. Toilets were clean, and we had a lovely walk around the area with views for miles. The radio mast is guarded but the guards were very friendly and happily talked... More

The location itself is beautiful as it overlooks the town. The rooms were waaaay over priced, had to change rooms 3 times, the standard was that low. I really felt robbed and deeply regretted stopping over enroute Vic Falls. I stayed in better hotels and paid less than I did at the baobab. Never again

We often have to stay overnight whilst doing business in Hwange - sadly the only place one can stay is at the Baobab. It is a pity that the rooms are so poorly maintained. The adaptor plugs in my bedroom were faulty. After asking for this plug to be changed I waited one and half hours before someone came to... More

Stayed at the Baobab Hotel en-route from Vic Falls to the Hwange National Park on a visit down memory lane, having left Hwange in 1959. Oh, how times have changed, the hotel was a sad reflection of the then hotel, although the views from the elevated position of the hotel were as stunning as ever. As previous travellers have stated,... More

Had to stay here because we were moved from our hotel in Vic Falls where a SADC conference was taking place and our hotel was double booked. The manager of our hotel in VF found this for us as an option. The hotel is okay for a night stop over but would not stay any longer. The restaurant is okay... More
