Where to start..... Just about every aspect of our stay was simply amazing and I have never experienced such warm hospitality, attentive service, wonderful comfort and hearty home-cooked food. You can just feel the magic in this magnificent home. Centrally located, it is so easy to get around and after many exciting day trips, it was such a treat to...

Stayed at Sondela in October for 4 nights. The warm BULAWAYO welcome shown by Rodney and Prudence was outstanding and from the moment we arrived, we felt like royalty. Prudence manages Sondela so efficiently that nothing is ever overlooked. Rodney is simply the perfect host. The house and gardens are grandiose and reminiscent of a bygone era. The interior style...

Beautiful manor-style house set in the large 4.5 acre grounds in the center of Bulawayo. Owner-manager Rodney is a warm friendly person who gets to know each guest personally and house-keeper Prudence gives great service and is consistently cheerful and full of fun. Thank you Rodney, Prudence, Julie and Grace for making our stay perfect.

From Prudence to Rodney and of course Buddy the dog... Sondela Lodge is a little gem in Bulawayo. Rodney's hospitality and generosity was exceptional. Prudence although humoured by our many friends who kept arriving made our stay in Bulawayo totally memorable - she helped with all sorts of trials and tribulations. If truth be told I didn't want to leave....

First of all the house is beautiful right when you open the gate . The crew was nice and very friendly . The rooms were big and very clean and cozy the only problem was that there was no wall between the bathroom so we didnt have much privacy. But the most beautiful thing was the garden, it was huge!...

Beautiful building, great breakfasts, warm and friendly host, gorgeous grounds, and walking distance to city center. In the cool of winter, the sun room is a pleasure. And there's a swimming pool for warmer weather. Even his dog Buddy is a great host--quiet, well behaved and loves to snuggle. I'll be coming back in October and March and I'm definitely...

This is an old, nice big House. Almost like a castle. We stayed in the red room. Even it was not planned the people in the kitchen could make dinner for us. And it was a nice dinner. The owner was sitting together with us in the evening telling us about the history of the House. Nice evening!! PS: they...

As a regular traveler to Bulawayo I decided to give Sondela a go after hearing good reviews. A very rewarding decision. The rooms are spacious, the staff friendly and the location ideal for my business requirements. A pleasant experience which I'm sure I'll repeat.

Look no further for a congenial home from home or rather, how you would like home to be. It's a gracious house in Suburbs with a glorious garden and a swimming pool. The accommodation is magnificent and the welcome from Rodney and Prudence is warm. There are all sorts of thoughtful touches like a hot water bottle in your bed...
