We visited in April and cannot thank Florence Cronje and her wonderful staff for their exceptional hospitality. We so enjoyed our 4 night stay and found the accommodation more than comfortable, the food excellent and the setting beautiful. Would certainly recommend!

It is hard to put into words how special this lodge and staff are. Florence and her team - especially Michael, William and Albert are exceptional in their service and hospitality, making all of us feel at home instantly. Walking with Lions, Elephant safari or even watching the resident hippos are all hard to beat or simply having a drink...

We visited in April as part of a small group. Beautiful setting, food, etc. but poor security. We were robbed in the middle of the night and had over $5000 worth of camera equipment, electronics, and clothing taken.

Thorntree River Lodge, Livingstone, Zambia. The warm welcome you receive from Florence Cronje and her wonderful team as you entry this cozy little lodge make you feel like you are coming home to a family. The resident pod of hippos with their grunting in the Zambezi River a few metres away and the cry of the fish eagle, sounds so...

From the warm welcome to the final goodbye this was an amazing three days. Chalets along the banks of the Zambezi watching the hippo's from the outdoor shower. Rooms beautifully appointed with attention to detail and beautiful touches from well trained staff. Meals great - elephant rides and interaction with lions, river cruise and the falls. Ideal spot to enjoy...

From the moment of our arrival manager Florence Cronje took us under her wing and made the success of our stay her personal project. But her staff were equally pleasant and attentive - and we would like to single out Michael for his quick wit and kindness. Our room was comfortable (although the under-blanket on the bed would *not* stay still!)...

The dining room flows into a private, temperature controlled wine cellar stocked with the finest wines. A gym and spa overlook the mighty Zambezi River, and there is a small library with WIFI for our guests’ convenience. The communal deck is set on the edge of the stunning riverside, and is home to a sunken boma area and an infinity pool. Wooden decking floats on the edge of the river, and moves with the water level to create the illusion of sailing a boat, and help to achieve a seamless feel between river and land. Activities include visits to Victoria Falls UNESCO World Heritage site, cultural village visits, sunset river cruises (on our own private boat), fishing, and visits to the Livingstone Museum.
