I spent two nights here, and my visit was purely to see Victoria Falls. The area itself is extremely expensive, largely down to its location and very little competition, and I chose this hotel because it was one of the least expensive options (although still pretty pricey!). I found the staff extremely friendly and the decor is interesting. Livingstone still...

The Protea Hotel Livingstone is comfortably located on the main street of Livingstone, Zambia. Although it is situated in the buzz of the tourist town it remains a tranquil, calm oasis. The hotel is a bit pricey for the cash-strapped or budget tourist but definitely worth while if you can afford it. Upon arrival one is greeted by a large...

The hotel is located on the main road leading from the city to the Falls, a short taxi ride from both. The common areas are attractive and well maintained. There is a pool, restaurant, gift shop and bar on the property. The rooms are good sized, clean and quiet and include a flat screen TV, toiletries, air conditioning, coffee and...

Really nice rooms, huge bathroom, unlimited wifi, what more do you want? Would highly recommend over some of the pricier options in the area as the customer service was about a hundred times better in protea than at another higher rated resort in the area.

After 5 awesome nights at Sanctuary's retreats in Botswana, we completed our short stay with an overnight in Livingstone so we could do the "Devils Pool" swim at the top of Victoria Falls. We had done the luxury thing in Botswana, and the Protea was a reasonably priced, well located hotel close to Vic Falls and to Livingstone. The staff...

I always stay at the Protea when in Livingstone. Great location, right on the main road but not too far into town to be noisy so you have a nice peaceful environment. This is a good hotel option for Livingstone, Zambia. Moderately priced, good, modern features.
