Seventeen villas line cobble-stone roads and verdant gardens built in the 1920s and 1930s. In the valley below is the French art deco city of Dalat. Beyond are distant mountains, a cool blue sky, and later, a starry night. Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa is well located for you to enjoy exploring the surrounding landscaped areas and local culture and farming countryside. Meticulously preserved and bursting with character, Ana’s villas aim to bring you back to bygone years and forgotten times when a day was spent walking along a grassy knoll or dozing off by a crackling fireplace.

Lots of very nice things about Ana Mandara. The location, some 45 minutes from the airport and up on the mountainside and tucked among the pines, was very peaceful and quiet. The villas are renovated from historical French military villas originally built nearly a century ago, so lots of character. The entire property covers an area of several hectares, so there is plenty of opportunity for leisurely walk or jogs. They have a small, but very well-maintained heated outdoor pool. The place is about 2 kilometers from downtown Dalat; we walked it once, but it is mostly uphill on the return and taxis are cheap in Dalat, so we usually took taxi.
"Old" villas mean character, but that comes at a price of some modern conveniences. For example, they have old antique tubs, which were difficult to climb in and out of for a shower, not to mention being a safety risk.
The complimentary breakfast was good, but not outstanding (actually, I expected a bit better). On the other hand, the staff were all fabulous: friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Each day, the resort also offers a complimentawry afternoon tea, with several nice finger foods.

If you want a lovely experience with charm, outside the city center, this is the place. It feels very rural though it's right at the edge of Dalat. You can walk from here to the center of town in half an hour.
We were upgraded to villa suite so we had two rooms and a huge bathroom. It's a little old fashioned in a good way. Old fashioned rather than outdated. Our king size bed was very comfortable, there are plenty of towels and amenities in the bathroom. The room is equipped with a fridge, a kettle, a safe and we had a plate of fruit on our arrival. Chocolates every night. Good ones.
The breakfast buffet couldn't be better, catering to eastern and western tastes. We were even offered a tasty cappuccino. The passion fruit here is extremely meaty and sweet, the pho delicious the French pastries flaky and buttery, etc. No complaints about the breakfast options. We didn't have a chance to try the complimentary afternoon tea since we were out all day.
My one complaint (which is why I rated this hotel 4 not 5 circles) is that because of the mosquitoes we were told to keep the windows closed at night. I don't understand why they can't put screens on at least one window so we can enjoy the cool night air. The room does have a fan which is very noisy (even at a low setting) and somewhat dangerous because the blades are very exposed.

This is truly a wonderful resort for me, everything is perfect. Friendly staff, quiet, airy and fresh space. However, you need to keep in mind a few things when coming here: 1. First of all, we can talk about the location: The resort is located quite far from entertainment areas such as night markets, squares.... and there are not many restaurants around there, so if you want to explore cuisine, then You will have to travel by walking, cycling or you can call a taxi. 2. Second, I can talk about the space of the resort: For me, this is a great point, maybe some people will find it inconvenient because there are residential roads in the resort, outside traffic and traffic. makes noise, but not significantly. 3. Third: I think you should choose a higher room category, the rooms on the first floor will be noisy from the floors above, and I really don't like that.
The resort offers afternoon tea from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is completely free for guests. Besides the resort, there is also a museum....
It's great to be here 🥰

After checking in, I was told that it would take some time for the room to be prepared, so I ordered tom yum goong and fried spring rolls at the restaurant, but they were not as tasty as I expected. The cakes (free) at the afternoon tea were not very tasty either.
At this point, I gave up on the food and was tired, so I skipped dinner that day. Even if I was tired, I would have gone to the restaurant if it had been delicious...
The breakfast was generally poor in variety and low quality.
The room had no problems with space, but there were many gaps. I was worried that insects would get in. There was a heater, but it was not very effective and the room took a long time to heat up. The bathroom was spacious enough and had two sinks, but the shower was in the bathtub, which made it difficult to use. I was relieved that the hot water came out without any problems. The bed was very comfortable.
The gardens on the premises were very well maintained and beautiful, but the stone pavement was quite difficult to walk on.
I only used the spa once. I asked for a body massage, but they didn't ask me what kind of oil I preferred. The massage itself was neither good nor bad. They served us tea, but the ginger? was too strong, and neither my husband nor I could drink it. The price was a little high. The staff was kind.
For dinner, we were tired after golf and didn't have the energy to go out to eat, so we reluctantly went to the hotel restaurant.
My husband wanted to order a set menu, but the local food was not tasty, so we were even less interested in a Western set menu. We didn't have anything in particular that we wanted to order from the a la carte menu, so my husband and I each chose a different set menu (there were two types of set menu), and we were surprised at how delicious both the presentation and the taste were. The appetizer was fresh seafood, the main meat was very tender, and there was a wide variety of vegetables on the side, and the dessert was completely different from the cake at the afternoon tea, so we enjoyed everything and ate it all. We ordered a set menu again the next night, but for some reason, the staff only brought the a la carte menu and drink menu when we sat down. They didn't explain the set menu at all, so we had to ask for it ourselves before we were given it. If I had known on the first day, I would have wanted to eat it even though I was tired.
My husband happened to notice that there was a set menu (it was just a small one on the wall near the entrance to the restaurant), but we looked around and saw that no one was ordering it. We should recommend the set menu more. The food was worthy of more than 5 stars.
The restaurant staff, reception staff, and bell staff were all very friendly.

French villas built in the 1920's and refurbished with the greatest care makes for a lovely, relaxing stay, especially in the cool climate of Dalat. The staff were amazing and ready to please 24/7 and communicated well in English. Breakfast provided was above average on most days. Bring you ear plugs as dogs bark at night.

Our family had a really great time at Ana Mandara resort. The guest rooms are grouped into beautiful ancient houses located on rolling hills surrounding pine trees. It was a perfect place for us to escape the bustling city life to relax and chill and get cozy with your loved ones. The customer services are five stars. Every morning at breakast, the resort General Manager Dung warmly welcomed and chatted with us about the history of the ancient houses built by French about more than 100 years ago. The breakfast has a variety of Asian and Western food. Strongly recommend this resort to everyone.

Definitely one of the best addresses for western foreigners in Dalat. Beautiful park, quiet, no street noise but we had a karaoke bar right next door. Rooms are rustic and historic, windows with large gaps where the wind blows in. Bathroom can't really be heated. The fan heater in the bedroom is a bit poor for cold evenings. But the beds are very good and comfortable. The most comfortable we had in Vietnam.
Restaurant is both good and bad. Breakfast is very busy and western food is rather limited. Local food didn't look very appealing either. Dinner, especially the menu - world class. It has to be said. We had the menu twice and it was absolutely perfect.
Spa therapists were rather unmotivated. Ambience is average, massage is acceptable but nothing special.

It was my 2nd time staying at Ana Mandara resort and I was not disappointed. I even like it more this time.
The hotel ground was peaceful and beautiful on a hill with pine trees and a good view of the city of Dalat.
The staff made a great effort to offer me other room options when I did not like the one I was originally assigned to. Finally I got a comfortable large room, with bathtub and separate shower, close to the swimming pool and restaurant where I dined for 5 days.
Although the restaurant menu did not have a lot of selections on local Vietnamese dishes, I was happy with my meals for 5-day stay. Breakfast was excellent with a lot choices.
The staff and services in all departments were outstanding. They could arrange me a local tour on the first day of lunar new year. Although walking to the city center was possible, getting a taxi from the hotel was very easy.
The hotel had both free and fee activities. Free activities were one-hour yoga at 7:00am or running/walking around Xuan Huong lake at 5:30am. It was not too early to run/walk at that time since there were a lot of runners at that time around the lake already. The pool was very nice, long enough to do lap swimming. The water temperature was just right.
I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed my recent 5-day stay. I am planning to return for a longer stay next year.

Signing up for a 3-day, 2-night resort at Ana Madara is impressive with a 5-star style. Special rooms, delicious food with classy service, cheerful and enthusiastic staff, poetic scenery, quiet and private. It is impossible not to mention the very thoughtful care of the hotel and also a very impressive highlight of the vacation which was a very surprising Happy Birthday gift from the hotel! All of them leave a feeling of satisfaction. Will return and introduce friends to experience.
