We stayed in Van Lan Riviera Villas for 5 days in December 2013. Our team consisted from 4 persons: me-Alan, my wife Anzhelika and my younger friends Aleksan and Aram. All of us were very happy of our staying in Van Lan. It was great time. The staff is very friendly, hospitable and professional. My birthday was organized very good and it was my best birthday. We show pictures and video to all our friends and they liked them very much. My best wishes to all our friends in Van Lan. Happy New Year.

The van lan consists of five small villas that surround a most charming yet small swimming pool in a flowering garden. The villas are beautifully designed with triangular roofs. The Van Lan sits upon a stream, with metal tables and chairs waiting for you to enjoy breakfast on or a cold beer at the end of the day. It's less than ten minutes on a bicycle from the center of Hoi An and the resort gives you complementary bikes. You can also take a boat or taxi to town. The villas are ideal both for couples and families as they have different sizes. The staff were all kind, helping and English speaking and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We forgot our purse in the hotel and they sent it to us express to Dalat. Highly recommended and great value for money. Thank you Lex and all the staff!

This is a new hotel in Hoi An, just a short bike ride to the downtown area. The rooms are beautiful and the staff wonderfully accommodating. It has very peaceful and relaxing ambiance, surrounded by lush plants. I stayed here with my twenty-five year old daughter and we both would love to come back to this hotel. It is perfect for families since there are kitchens in each unit with pots and pans for cooking small meals. The complimentary breakfast is excellent, especially the curry! Much to do in Hoi An and the best way to get around is on bicycles, which this hotel provided for free!
Only downside - hard for taxi driver to find. I suggest you mention to the driver that it is a very new hotel, or perhaps contact the hotel prior to arrival to see if you can arrange a pickup (they offered us a ride back to the airport for cheaper than we got to Hoi An for)

Horrible. What words can express my last night nightmare?
As soon as coming back to my country at 6:30 am in the morning, I am writing this feedback. Cause I want everyone who is thinking to stay in this villa to know my experience. Our family stayed here for 3nights. The staffs there are good. The villa was comfortable. First I booked 2 nights but I booked one more night in hotels.com because my flight was 12:30 am. I didn't want to get tired with my 6-year-son. So we were going to check out at 9:30pm.
At that time we try to check out, one staff who can't speak English called the owner of villa. He came. and he said "Our staff gave 5 towels but 2 towels are missing so I must check your baggage." Since I don't have much time for flight I opened my baggage with very uncomfortable face. He checked every baggage even my wife's underwear bag to find some cheap old dirty towels like immigration worker. But even say sorry. And the result, No towels are in my bag.
We were easy guests. Just relaxing in the pool. But only thing I did mistake I thought is I didn't use their shuttle to airport. so they might not get commission from the driver.
I don't know how they got a good grade in hotels.com.
Again the staffs are all good service even if they had a hard communication. But the owner of that villa is not a service man, but the police man who checks the guest's luggage to find towels.
To choose this villa is your choice. but be careful of the towel. Count the towel if you ask more or you must open your wife's underwear bag.

Villas are very comfortable and well laid out. We found all of the staff very helpful and efficient. Although it is out side the main town it was easy get there taxis were not expensive and easy to get. This made the villas a nice quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town. The breakfast provided was really good and set you up nicely for the day. I would definitely stay here again.

We are a family of 4 with 2 small kids and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at VLR. What makes this place is the friendliness of the staff and with it being quiet season it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. You can enjoy breakfast by the river every morning. It is a little far out however you are provided with bicycles that have child seats and it is a nice way to explore the countryside.
Highlight for the kids was the 2 guinea pigs they got to feed and pat each day.

Hotels and resorts all over the world could learn a few things from Van LAN Riviera Villas. The customer service was exceptional, the location beautiful and fantastic value for money. My family of five spent three nights here in May and could not fault the place. Beautiful breakfast every morning by the river, the villa was two floors, two bathroom with small kitchen. Very quiet which was nice after spending a week in hanoi. Push bikes available. 10 minute ride into town or 12 minute ride to a beautiful beach.
They make beautiful Vietnamese coffee.

Fantastic location at the river in the countryside, only 5 minutes by bike from the center of Hoi An. The manager and the rest of the staff was really kind and helpful, making our stay very enjoyable. The lodges were clean and nice. The swimmingpool was great. I hope to come back some day. I can highly recommend this great place.

we had a wonderful week in Hoi An and loved staying with the guys at Van Lan. Great rooms, lovely spot and friendly, helpful staff made it all easy and welcoming. We used the free bikes with our kids to scoot in to town or out to the beach, or just across the rice paddies to the market for a meal. The local restaurants, including the Dingo Deli, will deliver, be sure to try Restaurant 328 just up on the road to the beach, fish in banana leaf was worth the trip on its own. The staff at Van Lan looked after us and were only too happy to help with any request, booked a car for us to visit the My Son temples at a good price. The Red Gate restaurant is a few minutes down the road by bike and offers a world class dining experience

As a family of 6 it's sometimes complicated getting accommodation that suits. We had a lovely villa with two levels and balconies. The manager is amazing and will do everything to make your stay comfortable, interesting and happy. If you are looking for somewhere well priced and clean with charm this is the spot. Some minor improvements could be made to fixtures but for the price you just won't get better. The biggest charm is the amazing manager and the relaxed feel about the place. Plus the kids loved the pool and made lots of friends.
