Hostel is rather dark and old looking. Dorm for 8 ppl costs 380 pesos. Internet works well but only around the reception. Combination of slippery mattress and slippery bed sheets is the worst. After few minutes of lying on a bed you are already tired of making sure that sheet is not sliding all the way. It does anyway, even...

My girl and I are traveling already for 4 months through South America, but we never had such grumpy staff before. Not only the girl from the reception, even all the cleaners and the people that helps in the kitchen. The beds are too small, I'm 1,97m but even for someone who is 1,80m it's way too small and the...

We stayed here for one (cold) night in June. It is very central, only a couple of blocks from the ferry port and next to the old town. The 8 bed dorm was big and spacious, though cold in winter, as were the common areas. The shared bathrooms were on the courtyard which meant going outside to go to the...

We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff were not really friendly. The showers and toilets almost clean BUT the breakfast was basic and the baguette some of them old and from the day before. The useable kitchen is basic equipped. We hadn't had problems with bed bugs. We slept in the second room upstairs which was okay with air-co....

Pros: Good location, right in centre of Colonia. Dorm I was in had air con (although is controlled by owners, so is only on or off when they choose). One shower I used was hot and good pressure. Got free towels, changed each day. And they made your bed each day. Cheap. Cons: Not enough bathrooms, really hard to get...

Stayed for one night and came back for another two a few days latter. Nice place with good vibes. Seems like it´s owned by a family that lives there. Breakfast is simple and organized well (toest, butter, jelly, cofe, chocolate milk). Price was resonable and includes a towel and a bar of soap. The rooms are clean, organized and have...

I slept in dormitory but private accommodation is available as well. All guests receive identical courteous treatment; meals are in restaurant space or outdoor patio. Kitchen facilities are available for guest use and staff ladies shine and polish every minute, sweep up every dried leaf the minute it falls; maintenance is nonstop and impeccable.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable enough and there's enough (and clean) bathrooms for everyone. The breakfast is included, a bit basic, but nice. There's plenty of common spaces, both inside and outside, and because there isn't much to do in Colonia on a night most people stay in and you can really...

As always when it comes to a hostel the location, the staff and the price either make it or break it. This hostel provided excellent service for a low price and the owner is amazingly hospitable. She let me store my bag, use the kitchen and the showers again and tended to my request to change room in the middle...

We stayed for three nights in the cramped (but cheaper) 6-person dorm (310 pesos per person/per night). This hostel is one of the closest to the bus station and, given its price, is always going to be a decent option. However, they need to improve their lockers in some dorms (ours were very flimsy and insecure) and the breakfast offering...
