I have visited, Colonia several times. Initially staying at hotel’s (Sheraton, Radisson, Days Inn). This is de first time I’d stayed in a Posada. This one is very well located. In front of one of the old plazas and steps away from the cathedral. The hotel has a good infrastructure, but it stayed in the 1970’s. it needs to be... More

Used to be the house of one of Colonia's Gobernor's, so its historically interesting from the start Very well placed, in the historic district, right next to the church, this is a nice place to stay if you are planning a sightseeing trip. The room I stayed was nice, but the entire building could use some work. The bed consisted... More

Hotel is well positioned in the historic district and, at first glance, is charming. I was not crazy about our first floor room right off the lobby as it was noisy late into the night. Also be careful with the air conditioning unit. In our room it blew directly on the bed and both my wife and I got bad... More

Cenrally located and within easy walking distance of Restuarants and shops, this one time Government Building is within the original confines of the old walled town. The fact that it was once a government building [ residence] fires your imagination a little, and you tend to expect something a bit special. Our room was at the rear of the hotel... More

there are many hotels in Colonia, all good, most of them of standard luxury standard but mostly missing that little extra that makes a hotel a special experience. Pasada del Gobernador has that little extra. Do not expect the plastic and would standard items of many stars hotels. But enter the small hotel through a peaceful garden with a nice... More

My first trip to Colonia, and was greatly disappointed on the lodging, amenities, it's old and not kept up. Right next door, and incredible property called Posada El Capullo, a single went for ten dollars less than Posada del Gobernador. El Capullo was recently remodeled to the standards of a " boutique hotel " with all it's amenities. Good to... More

The hotel is lovely. My biggest gripe is that the lighting in the rooms is dismal. Our room on the first floor had a queen size bed and could have easily fit four queen size beds. The furniture is antique looking. The bathroom in our room was modern, however the design of the shower door (swinging inward) was awkward. Our... More

Hotel is centrally located in the historical town and staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a very large and comfortable double room/suite on the ground floor (i believe rooms on the first floor are smaller). Hotel was clean and quiet. Laundry rates are very reasonable and clothing returned within 12 hours! Recommended.

We really enjoyed our three night stay at this little hotel. Fantastic location, right on the old town village square and only a few minutes walk to te water and modern town centre. We booked a spacious family room, with shuttered windows and a quiet aspect. The rooftop terrace overlooks the old square and an ancient church with bell towers,... More

We stayed here for two nights for our trip to Colonia. It is a nice bed and breakfast, with a helpful staff. Our rooms were average, clean, warm, nice. There was some construction that started early in the morning our first night, so they switched rooms for us for the second night and it was much better. The bathrooms were... More
