From dinner (the food was stunning), to the setting, to the freedom to design our days as we pleased, Estancia Tierra Santa and Karen provided just what we were looking for in our time in Uruguay. As an example of Karen going above and beyond, she was booked up when we wanted to come, but she spoke to a regular...

We have just spent 2 nights at the estancia tierra santa. The location, grounds and people are superb. The estancia is owned an American couple, who are charming. The grounds in which the estancia is set are beautiful and green. A stream runs through the property. My wife and I did a delighful 2 hour walk along a back road...

We stayed at this lovely farm after spending time in Buenos Aires. We loved Uruguay and Carmelo. The property is privately owned and personally operated by Karen the owner. She's the proprietor, farm manager, and chef. The 3 rooms are large and beautifully decorated. We wanted to enjoy the large tub, but in this area of the world, water service/electrical power...

Everything about Tierra Santa expresses a high level of consciousness and esthetic. Karen, a consumate host, has created an oasis of peace and nurturance. Her intuition, her intelligence and her timing are all impeccable. She has a talent for cooking, for caring and for making you feel like her new best friend. She provides privacy, calm, comfort and care. A...

This place is that good. When I read all of the reviews I wondered how it'd be possible... Here's how: Karen is the ultimate host and she has an impeccable sense of timing. When to hang out with you, when to let you be, when you need a fire and a glass of wine, when you need your wine refilled,...

It very difficult to find a truly exceptional and luxury estancia for the holiday in Uruguay. Tierra Santa is the right choice if you are looking for: - Small (3 apartments only) and very quiet isolated location (but still 1hr drive from Colonia and only 15 min to Carmelo and the river), no TV present (but internet is there) -...

I just returned home from one of the most magical trips my husband and I have ever taken. Mainly, because we stayed at The Estancia Tierra Santa, a gorgeous inn and working ranch, surrounded by the most beautiful countryside in all of Carmelo, Uruguay. Karen and her staff are truly top notch. The food each morning and night was exquisite....

I was fortunate enough to stay here during my birthday and had a fabulous time! Karen, the host, is an american lady who really understands the meaning of the word hospitality. She's around when you need her and discreetly disappears when you don't. The rooms are high quality (5 star) and huge, the bathrooms are even bigger, views are amazing...

This is an amazing estancia in a very special part of the world! We were very fortunate to discover Estancia Tierra Sante prior to our visit to Carmelo. A little off the beaten track - though it is the countryside after all..... but this is a truly delightful spot. Karen and her husband Charles have truly built an oasis of...
