This is a wonderful if simple experience. The rooms are clean and large with good beds and better than average mosquito nets on the fourposter frame. Breakfast (the only meal we had) was good and cooked as we ordered. The manager was most helpful even though we arrived on a late flight. It is an African rather than a European...

We used Banana Village for a small work retreat. It's not a luxury hotel, but was clean and very good value for money. The staff were courteous, very responsive and well organized. They had some electricity outages while we were there, but were able to turn the generator on. They have a lovely garden and small swimming pool.

We spent only one night here but will go back again if we are in the region. Prices for residents (non locals) were good. Foreigners pay a bit more. Diana in reception was wonderful. She even helped us to find the best Thai restaurant in the area. The gift shop has African made gifts for really good prices. There is...

The pricing for Banana village is advertised 'really cheaply' but this is ONLY FOR UGANDAN residents. Typically £25 per night is advertised. The room rates for international visitors is typically overpriced at about $80 per night. Its very average and food is typical Ugandan with little choice or availability. They even ran out of potatoes and/or chips during my stay!...

We appreciate every review. We however regret that your expectation was not met during your stay with us. About the pricing, you booked through an online agent and they charge an extra 20% percent on the advertised rate. You are correct our room rate is $80 but that is for a double room bed and breakfast, wifi and swimming. Thank...

I have been to Uganda four times and each time, I end my trip with 2-3 days at Banana Village. Why? It's a serene place, a wonderful venue to relax and a place where I feel pampered. The property is gorgeous (banana trees, gardens). There is a large family of monkeys that hang around and the property is kept very...

Clean stylish rooms; room service; great staff; friendly and very helpful owners; good African food, everything was fresh; taxi to the airport even at midnight for reasonable price; home made presents at the reception; simply wonderful place to stay before or after arrival at the Enteebe airport. There was no problem to get boda boda or matatu to shopping mall...

We stayed at the Banana Village with 5 Ugandan couples for two nights. NOTE: this place is not for those who like the high end amenities of hotels, but perfect for those who like a down-to-earth, rustic, authentically African feel. Our friends all got the break they desired with the local foods they like. We got our fill of the...

Hello, we appreciate every review and the positives and negatives as they help us to up our game. Indeed we are not high end and I like the way you brought that out. Sorry about the barking dogs we try and keep them in control as much as we can, some seasons are worse than others. It bothers me and...

I spent 8 nights at the Banana Village on a recent trip and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff are amazing - particularly Joshua in the restaurant and the management team. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with a troupe of monkeys to entertain. Lovely swimming pool, quirky and individual rooms - far more spacious than other hotels...

Had a one night stay here before flying home. I wouldn't go as far as to say it is superb the rooms are very basic and in need of some loving restoration especially the en suite facilities. Dogs barking at night disturbed our sleep, though free Wi Fi was appreciated after two weeks without contact. Food is good and there...

Hi there, we appreciate every review. As you saw, we are located in a village setting to be able to offer our guests an African experience the red soil is a natural feature in most of Ugandan villages away from the suburbs which are tarmacked. Nestled in Nkumba, quiet, clean, elegant, and personal. Amid the hustle and bustle of Africa, you are treated with personal kindness and understanding. Semakadde Jemimah (owner) is a wonderful and understanding manager who has created an extraordinary hotel/resort for those who are looking for western amenities, which are almost non-existent in Uganda. If you are visiting with family, kids, or...
