This is a 300 year old Greek house converted into a cave hotel just 5 mins away from Urgup town centre. The rooms are small because of the cave structure but not wanting in any of the services that are available in star hotels. We had a standard room on the ground floor near the reception. It had one large... More

After my third visit to the Melis Cave Hotel, I felt I should review how lovely it is. This hotel provides a memorable experience of staying in Cappadocia complete with rooms reflecting the decor and cave style of the region. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious, the owner's presence always a special delight. Tours can be... More

The Melis Hotel is a traditional Ottoman style hotel located a 5 minute walk from the centre of Urgup. Many of the rooms are positioned around a lovely pool and adjacent to a lush garden, perfect to relax and enjoy breakfast or dinner. We stayed in an ottoman style stone room which was simply yet traditionally decorated and was gloriously... More

Our large cave room was actually a suite with its own Turkish bath and was the poshest we stayed at in our one month in Turkey and at a very reasonable price. The gardens are huge with private sitting or dining areas everywhere and there is a lovely huge pool, all of which are maintained daily. They serve dinner there... More

By far the most luxurious of the hotels we stayed in on a whistlestop tour of Turkey we were so impressed with everything here. the gardens are meticulously maintained, the rooms immaculate, spotless and beautifully and tastefully decorated. my only disappointment is finding out other rooms had saunas and turkish baths where ours didnt!! the owner was a lovely man,... The highpoint of our trip to Turkey was our two-day stay at the Melis Hotel, an authentic 900-year-old vineyard converted into FIVE STAR luxury suites . . . at a most affordable price. We were permitted to videotape each suite by the owner, an artistic designer, who took us on a guided tour. Over 30 years ago, he decided to... More

This is a beautifully restored hotel with lovely terrace and garden in which to have breakfast or to lounge in the afternoon. The staff are very helpful and good-natured, and the rooms have been superbly outfitted. We stayed in a cave room which was very large, with a separate salon area and even its own Turkish bath, all for a... More

When our tour bus pulled up to Melis Hotel, it was without any great expectations especially after the low budget ones already experienced on our pre booked Turkey tour. The hotel offered clean rooms with private bathrooms, opening out onto a crystal clear pool, beautifully manicured garden with many arrangements of seating areas to choose while enjoying a buffet style... This was the highlight of our budget tour in Turkey. Although no air conditioning, the room seems to stay cool. Lovely pool area and gardens to sit in. Perfect location for access to the town and a brilliant Turkish bath at the end of the road, which I highly recommend! Good selection for buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Only down... More
