The hotel was neat, a minute walk from the ferry, which was perfect.. our room was nice and clean. The staff was very welcoming and supportive when we were asking about things to do and how to get around. I liked my stay and would recommend the place.

Excellent little hotel, perfect for a visit to Gallipoli and Troy. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom clean with toiletries provided. I especially like the bigger bath towels. Everything scrupulously clean. We visit after Turkey had just come out of total lockdown, so COVID-19 restrictions were still in place which severely restricted the provision of meals. Breakfast was pre-ordered and tasty, but other meals were only available as takeaway. The normal menu in the room promised delicious meals from the restaurant next door, which was Covid-closed! Best of all at Arthur Hotel are the staff. They couldn’t do enough for you, were very knowledgeable about ever changing rules re Covid and best of all, the cost was extremely low!

Room Tip: Not much parking , there are 3 spaces near the back door so a smaller car is advised.

From check-in to check-out and everything in between we had an excellent experience. We can’t say enough about the staff who are incredibly friendly, helpful and their English is excellent. We were delighted to find a plate of baklava and chocolates waiting for us in our room. The hotel lobby, rooms and breakfast area are tastefully finished. The bed and linens are very comfortable. The bathroom has a roomy rain head shower and comes with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower cap, hair dryer, bath sponge and even a disposable toothbrush and paste. One bottle of complimentary water was provided daily in addition to a small mini bar with very reasonable prices. Breakfast is included and is traditional kahvalti. We were in room 502 on the top floor which had a large terrace with a nice sunset view. The hotel is a 5 minute, 20 lire drive from the airport and right across the street from the ferry terminal. It’s a 5 minute walk from a replica of the Trojan Horse and is surrounded by many restaurants and shops. We booked 2 half day tours through the front desk the morning of our arrival. One to Troy and the second to Gallipoli to visit the ANZAC memorial sites so there’s no need to rent a vehicle. Canakkale is a lovely city and we look forward to returning to it and to the Artur Hotel.

We can’t quite work out the star ratings in Turkey. This hotel was rated 3 star, but we believe it was a 4-5 star. Granted, it doesn’t have a swimming pool or spa treatments, but when we go on holidays, we don’t go to spend our time in hotel amenities. We have also stayed at the Kolin Hotel in Çanakkale, and believe the rooms and service was on par with that. We stayed with our 16yo and the room was plenty large enough for us all. Toiletries, robes and slippers provided. Great air conditioning. Beds comfortable and clean. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Most spoke English, and if they didn’t, they got someone who did. Staff were very helpful in giving directions. Room was quiet, even though our room was facing the Main Street. Once the windows were closed, you got very little street noise. No noise from other rooms in the hotel. There was a lift to the upstairs rooms, so luggage is not a problem (although porters took bags to the room anyway). Stairs also available for those who don’t like lifts 😁 Breakfast was a typical Turkish spread including pastries, cereals, hot foods, cold meats and fruit. More than enough food continually topped up and fresh. We didn’t dine at night in the restaurant, so can’t comment on that. Dozens of kebab shops, pizza stores, cafes and McDonalds within the vicinity of the hotel (McDonalds is literally next door) and easy to walk to. This hotel is a stones throw from the ferry point and the Dardanelles waterfront. The trogen horse replica is a 5 minute walk. An ideal location. Highly recommend this hotel if you are in Çanakkale.

Stayed two nights at Artur Hotel. It's very accessible from the ferry, and valet parking is free. It's located between McDonald's, and Mado Cafe which also sells French pastries as well as the local sweets. You don't have to drive into the crazy Canakkale traffic at all as Artur is practically at the ferry exit. Recently and extensively renovated, the hotel is very clean and modern, but rooms tend to be on the small side so we requested a corner room which looked out on the main street. (The double paned new windows blocked off any noise.) Breakfast is so-so, but still an improvement over brand hotel breakfast buffets in Canada. Great coffee!
