Average hotel that is starting to show its age, wallpaper in room under window starting to peel, shower floor flexing when walking on it, couldn't work out bed reading lights, tried all combinations of switches, nothing worked to get them on.

The best thing you can do when you go to Turkey and European countries is to carry a power socket (to covert the flat legs used in 110 v countries to round legs needed in 220 v countries). They cost less than $10 in the US... More
The best thing you can do when you go to Turkey and European countries is to carry a power socket (to covert the flat legs used in 110 v countries to round legs needed in 220 v countries). They cost less than $10 in the US and more at the airports.
Please, check if your laptop, razor or other appliances tolerate 220 volts.
