We enjoyed our stay at the Captain Visger House Bed and Breakfast this past summer. It is a beautiful, old Victorian home, yet quite comfortable. The owner is friendly and helpful, and serves a delicious and quite extensive breakfast. We stayed three nights and the owner, Sam, was very informative about the best tours of the Thousand Islands, places to...

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this one will rank as one of the best. The owner is gracious and very welcoming. Captain Visger is located within walking distance of the St Lawrence Seaway and the boat ride to Boldt Castle. While we always appreciate a clean, nicely decorated room, the food here was the highlight of...

We never stay at B&B's but based on the reviews of this place we decided to give it a try. What an amazing experience! The house is beautiful but not intimidating--it quickly felt like home. Of course Sam had a lot to do with that. She is warm, welcoming, engaging, and filled with spunk! And boy can that girl cook!!...

We stayed 2 nights at this B&B to celebrated our 24th anniversary. Although it wasn't directly on the St. Lawrence River, just a short walk down the street is a scenic park on the river, where I took a number of pictures of the many small islands. The house was very comfortable & clean. The innkeeper, Sam, was very inviting...

We stayed at this B & B for four nights earlier this month. I booked online, based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. The house has been lovingly restored, with great attention to detail. Every room is beautiful, and very clean. But, it was Sam, the innkeeper, who stole our hearts. She is candid, honest, funny, sincere, outspoken and we now...

As a B&B owner myself, I enjoy staying at other b and b’s when I travel. I expect them to vary widely in design and décor but my standards are high when it comes to cleanliness and service. Our stay at Captain Visger’s was a delightful experience on all accounts. The house itself has been beautifully restored. Our room, Harmonious,...

Just had a two night stay over Labor Day weekend. Had never been to Alex Bay before. As previous reviews point out, Sam is one of the main selling points of this B & B. She tries to please you with your breakfast choices and what you do and do not like. This B & B is very very conveniently...

I selected this B&B based on other TripAdvisor reviews... and we were not disappointed! The inn owner, Sam, has enough personality for 5 people; she is so warm & open & friendly. And she truly makes the most delicious, inspired breakfasts we've eaten. We stayed in the "Catherine July" room, which is small but very nicely appointed. Since we basically...

This B&B is above and beyond. Definitely stay here!! We had a awesome stay and will return to this place. Food, room and owner was fantastic. The best B&B we have ever stayed at. Sam is the best hostess. After eating her gourmet breakfast, you do not have to eat another meal. Sam prepares her breakfast taking in all the...

My husband and I visited 1000 Islands for a long weekend "get away". We have stayed at many B&B's over the past 15 years and would rank Captain Visger House among one of the nicest we have stayed at. The room and bathroom were gorgeous, furnished with beautiful antiques. The bed was extremely comfortable. And we just cannot say enough...
