The Napalai Hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment. It seems that they've attempted to mask issues with layers of paint, but now it's peeling off, revealing underlying problems. Even the supposedly "superior" rooms are anything but, with inadequate lighting and cleanliness concerns that necessitated a room change. The attention to cleaning detail is lacking throughout the hotel.

The standout aspect of the hotel is its reception staff, who are commendable. However, the pool area is disappointing, with cold water and uninviting surroundings. Attempts to improve the area, such as painting the floor, have only made it look worse. The beds were comfortable.

Located approximately 1.6 km from the city center, the hotel's pond also requires attention. Our stay, lasting only three nights, was further marred by the subpar club experience at the Rhythm Bar. Despite offering an English menu, the bartender struggled to understand orders and service was sluggish. Reserved tables were often left empty, contributing to a lackluster atmosphere devoid of a dance floor. While the DJ was passable, the MC's performance left much to be desired. Staff members seemed dispirited and unapproachable, creating an overall somber atmosphere rather than a lively one.

I am somewhat bewildered by the previous reports. What do you expect from a provincial 4 star property?

Of course the prices reflect this and i thought it was good value at £25 for a deluxe room.

The rooms have everything you need, shower, bath, minibar tv, wifi. yes they are a bit dated, but mine was clean.

Will stay again.

Established 4 star hotel for UT, but seen better days with some outdoor facilities bit jaded.

Deluxe room with great breezy outdoor corridors, and city view. But the reception upon check-in (and check-out) needs to improve. On check-in, she was handling a general inquiry (on available different room rates) from a Thai lady for a good 5mins, whilst halfway checking me in. This was on a quiet evening at 1915. Worse off, I had to remind her to return my passport from the copier!

And what happened to the Thai smiles too? Perhaps some training is in order.

TERRIBLE Hotel I would say 2 star at the most..when first checked in had to relocate to another room as the shower had only hot water! Then checked into 1108 room where the beds are so uncomfortable & then COLD shower.
Also the breakfast is NOT nice at all. The staff are unfriendly & unhelpful & wouldn’t stay in Napalai again as it’s worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

After I read many reviews, I felt nervous about the hotel accommodation. But I have no choice because this hotel is cheap and near the city. However, this hotel is in the good average among the hotels with same price! Even room looks a bit old but very clean. I think it's ok for me and my family. The most impressive thing for me is it has a great view of the city. Good for people who want to stay in Udon for a short period.

Stayed here for a few nights, we really enjoyed our stay. All the staff provide a friendly and very attentive service.
We had a Deluxe room, our room was spacious and very clean.
The hotel is a bit far from the city but it was easy to get a ride. The hotel offers free transport to and from the airport which was very handy for us.
We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Udonthani!

I have just spent 4 nights at this hotel and the staff let the hotel down.
The hotel is nice and has good facilities, decor is good and the rooms are spacious, nice bathroom and good size bed.but the staff could not speak English I only found 2 that could.
I sat in the lobby hoping some one would come and ask me if I needed any thing but the 2 girls sat behind the bar on their phones, after 5 minutes I went and asked them for a cup of white coffee but as they could not speak English they did not understand what I was saying.
when I arrived at hotel it was already pre booked with credit card, I gave them card but their card machine would not work and they asked me to pay in cash plus leave them deposit incase I had anything from mini bar. It took all of my cash so had to go and draw more next day from ATM
When it came to cleaning our room I found that the staff had not taken our dirty towels away on one of the days and did not leave any coffee for us.
The hotel is 4 star but staff only one.

First I looked at the revieuws and I did not want to stay
Finally I booked a room for 2 days.
Compared to the price you pay it is a good hotel.
I don't understand why it has so many bad revieuws.
It is much better than I expected.

As stated by a number of reviews, the hotel foyer is about the only highlight here. Sadly you don't spend the night there although it was considered (joking) What I was really annoyed about was that on the web site I booked this hotel through(Agoda), there were pictures of a beautiful pool. Udon can be very hot so a pool was a priority. When given my key we went to the 11th floor opened the door to the room, immediately thought a 4 star rating was a trifle high ( at best 2 and half) My friend went to the window and the comment was, great view of the city and what a unqique pool, no water in the pool and from all accounts has'nt been for along time. False advertising at its best. I had booked for 3 nights at close to 1000thb per night. I was not happy, subsequently I contacted Agoda and after some discussions I was refunded the 2 nights that I was not going to use and was discounted a further 40% on the night I stayed. This price which was around $18 AUS and thast about where it sits price wise. I moved to Paradise Hotel, which had a 3 star rating and I can say it was fantastic, beautiful pool fully renovated room, central to the city(Napali is way out) and good value at around $25 per night. Sorry Napali your days are numbered unless you do some huge renos or drop your own rating and sell rooms for no more than 500 THB

This hotel would have been considered to be of a really high standard back in the 90s, perhaps it was even the best in Udon Thani. So yes, now it's a old and dated, both in terms of design and style. The look of the lobby may mislead you into thinking it's a 5 star hotel.

Everything in the room worked, staff were nice, and the price was really good. I don't know if you can actually find something more modern in Udon Thani. Everything about my experience there was average, but room was really big for the price I paid.
