Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The breakfast buffet was very ample and delicious with many Thai and Western choices being available. The hotel staff were very attentive and communicated well. The hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful. The room was well maintained, and the hotel's location is very convenient within the city of Udon Thani.

Lots of positives! Big room in a quiet location on the perimeter road. Close to the Big C and Thaiwatsadu if you have shopping to do. Free airport shuttle. Excellent breakfast buffet with fresh made omelettes! I will for sure be staying here again!

A new hotel outside Udon Thani but still close to everything with their bus(8 seats) available.
Wonderful decor, conference and dining area are big but comfortable as is the entrance. Complimentary buffet breakfast (continental) was normal with limited choice, other meals I chose to have outside. A beautiful big pool and gym to wind down at the days end with staff eager to assist to your needs. One thing though, you need to ask for a safe if you desire as there is none provided in your room.

Stayed here just one night after a long trip from europe. The hotel is not quite finished outside with some building materials and waste piled up.
Also they are still Landscaping the pool area but you can swim.
The breakfast is terrible and they do not encourage international visitors as only Thai food is available which usually is ok but even my Thai wife said it was bad. All the food labels are in Thai only.
The Hotel is on the outskirts of the city. Stay at the Centara for just a little bit more cash.
The Siam Grand has potential but the managment need to wake up to how many westerners visit Udon.

From the exterior it's grand the pros, big rooms and bath it's just new so it's nice and free wifi but for the price well not a value
Cons, it's a ways to center of town the breakfast was like a one star thai hotel cold eggs and verity is low. I checked in as wanted to swim but you have to walk way far to it across parking lot and it was green! It's a two star at best

The hotel is new and has large well furnished rooms and public spaces.
Finishes are of quality as are soft furnishings and other aspects of presentation.
It is not a Town Centre Hotel but the usual transport facilities are available to take you the short distance to the town.
There is a large Supermarket within 5 mins walking distance.
The Hotel is on the Ring Road giving easy access to other major Cities and is only 50 km from the Border Crossing to Laos.
The only weakness is a very restricted Menu but what is available was presented well.
The issue regarding Safes in the room has been resolved as I found mine had the usual room safe that looked new.
The swimming pool and gym are clean and well maintained and as the trees mature around the pool area there will be shade.
Excellent value and in Low Season the discounted price is amazing.

Great stay, situated at the beginning of the ring road leading into Udon Thani.
The staff are very polite and welcoming, there is a lot of parking at this premises.
Check in is quick without delay and staff are very accommodating.
Rooms are huge, clean and well appointed.
Food is absolutely magnificent either ordered from the restaurant or room service.
Breakfast is very good starting at 6am.
The pool is great and a small pool attached for the kids.
The gym is lacking in heavy weights.
Town is not far from the hotel and “BigC” is just around the corner
Good family hotel.

What can I say. it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It is rated 3 stars but it looks and feels more like 5 stars hotel. The staff are friendly. very spacious clean rooms. Excellent breakfast and the Maitre D of the restaurant couldn't do enough for us.
The Big C shopping center is 5 minutes walk away. Such a friendly place, it was a pleasure to stay there. if in Udon Thani again I will definitely stay there.

Pros: Large rooms, good price, quiet, relaxing
Cons: Only BigC shop nearby
Location: Car or tuk-tuk taxi need to get to city-centre

Stayed 30-Apr-2017 for 4 nights in 3nd floor deluxe double rooms with breakfast. Our group stayed in 3 rooms. We changed from room 3029 as it had ants embedded in the window frame.

4th time I am staying here (previous stays Aug-2016, Oct-2016 and Mar-2017)

Avoid the ground floor as we got bitten by mosquitoes every night.

A huge hotel with spacious bedrooms. During my earlier stays I hardly saw other guests and breakfasts were cold buffets with a hot-dish to order e.g. fried rice etc, but no second helpings of hot food. They always had a dedicated chef for the eggs.
On their busier days, with conferences, the buffet will also include a selection of hot Thai and English dishes.
Recent stays I have seen more guests and the hot breakfast dishes are on the buffet more often.

The rooms now have mini bars, previously they did not.
Sheets are changed daily for existing guests.

They have a children's paddling pool and a bigger adjoining pool.
The big pool is usually quiet until 5pm when the local kids and parents pay to use it as well.

The hotel also has a small kids playroom with plenty of toys.

There's a BigC 7-mins walk away, but you need to cross a busy road.
We phoned for tuk-tuk taxi's to take us into the town for 100-150Baht each way. There is a huge, very popular Mongolian restaurant 5-mins drive - away from the city centre.

Hotel provides a free airport pickup and drop-off, however trips to the closer city-centre are charged (cheaper to get a tuk-tuk taxi).
Checkout day - had 6am breakfast and arrived at airport with hotel mini-van at 8:10am
