New Hotel on the edge of Nong prajak park and lake. So great environment a little away from the city centre. Hotel has car parking spaces and a lift. Rooms fine, clean and en suite. You can get breakfast for 90 baht in the top floor restaurant which has great views. Problem free stay, all staff very courteous. Great value !

THE LAKE UDON ! Remember this name when you visit as this is best hotel in Udon Thani! For me, best means the right balance between money and price. It was the best value for my money. The hotel has just been totally renovated, and everything is brand new. After one night at the Lake, I knew I would be a regular customer from now on. Starting from the lobby, with the help of very nice, friendly, and professional manager Khun OH, he gave me the keys to a spacious room with a view of Lake Nhong Prachak and already I got pointers on where I am going to have my dinner for the night. I felt special from the very beginning to the end. The lobby, though small, is beautifully decorated with a coffee and tea at your disposal – all free for guests – where you sit, relax, and have a chat with the friendly staff, making you feel like home. The room is tastefully decorated, brightly lit, and the bed is very comfortable! The bathroom and shower are very clean and nice. Next morning, I had breakfast. It was a simple Vietnamese bread with pork and vegetable, but it was better than the one I had at the famous place near the train station I usually go to when I come to Udon Thani. Overall, I had the best stay ever in Udon Thani, and definitely will come back and will without reservation recommend The Lake Hotel to anyone.

I were there for two nights. This is brand new hotel with very clean room at reasonable price. It’s very close to the Nong Prachak Lake in central Udon Thani. The staff is very friendly especially Mr.Manager , you can ask him for good street food in Udon Thani. He is an expert.

It’s not a five star hotel with full facilities but I can feel like I have got those facilities from the location. There is no fitness room but I can go running around the lake with very nice view or you can enjoy aerobic dance class with the local people there.

On the walk way around the lake you can also visit many most attraction place like museum or temple in central Udon by walking distance or even borrow a bicycle from hotel and ride around the lake to visit those place.

The hotel also have a lovely coffee shop in front of the hotel building. You can have a cup of coffee with your most favourite book or taking a note on about your journey in Udon. You can also going to the top roof to have a breath with a good view of Nong Prachak lake.

For me , I think it’s worth on your money to if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Udon Thani before going to next destination. I’m sure I will revisit The Lake again next time in Udon Thani.

This small hotel is truly lovely, both premise and staff. Breakfast is not much choice but simply good.

Visit Roof deck to see the view of the surrounding lake.

Really good value if you looking for cozy hotel with friendly service.

The saddest thing about The Lake Udon is that I really liked it....except that it was very tough to sleep there because the rooms were so noisy. Anyhow, let's go with the positives first:
- incredibly friendly and helpful staff that helps to call places, arrange cars, etc. Such nice people!
- great location next to the lake. And the lake is a wonderful place, especially in the evening. You can stroll in the park, go jogging around the lake, get food or coffee at the chic places around, and have massages. Absolutely a lovely area. Even at night, you can walk a bit to go for food
- a very hipster & chill cafe/work space situated right next door

The not so good...
- ants in the room
- very, very loud inside the room - from the cars outside to the neighboring guests, you hear everything, which makes it hard to sleep
- the shower was not great - it was very hard to get the water warm, and especially in the morning. Taking cold showers at 6am wasn't ideal...

Super sorry to the lovely staff of the hotel! I really would love to at least give it 4 stars, but I just didn't sleep well there....

Thank you for your review. We are really sorry about your inconveniences. We will improve our housekeeping and get the ant problem solved. On the noise issue, we plan to install door seal by next week to reduce noise level in our guest room. Regarding the shower, we are using small water heater which takes sometimes to heat up the water. We apologize again for your inconveniences. We hope that you will give us another chance . We are looking forward to welcoming you again.

This is a really lovely hotel, great rooms, super comfortable and with a fabulous roof terrace for breakfast or just enjoying the view of the lake.

The staff are lovely and there are some good eateries nearby. We really enjoyed staying here and it's very reasonably priced! A great option for Udon Thani!

This largish hotel is ideally situated near the lake. Reasonably priced, rooms are large with desk facilities and fridge, comfortable beds and pillows so soft, the writer had no option but to buy one of them, and take back to Bangkok !

A charming small boutique hotel. New rooms with stylish decoration. Friendly and service minded staffs plus a super nice view of Nhong Prajak. Surprisingly low price that you should not miss.

Highly Recommend for those who looking for a place near Nhong Prajak where there are many nice restaurants and street foods.

Well, I go to Udon Thani quite a lot. But, you see, I stay at a number of different hotels. Over the past ten years, several hotels have popped up.

This is one of the best ones, if not, the most chill one in the city.

Why? Well, as people have mentioned, it has the 360 degree view. That's lovely just to go up and read, especially at night, when it's nice and cool outside. You can see people jogging, the big pond, and enjoy the sunlights of Udon Thani.

Also, the rooms -- some people have complained about the thin walls. Well, in Udon Thani, all hotels have relatively thin walls. Welcome to Thailand.

People have also complained about the showers. Well, if you have ever gone anywhere that has one of those water heaters that are quite small, that's next to where the shower water head, then you'd realise that's just the way it is. Believe me, I've been to the expensive ones and I've been to the cheap ones, they all have that kind of generator. There are no central boilers in Udon Thani's hotel scene (for one, no one has a basement due to the kind of soil is simply too watery to let that happen, as the building would begin to sink). It's also hard to have a boiler on the top of the building, because, during the summer it might overheat.

But what is important?

The air conditioning is great. Top model. One of the best you can possibly buy.

The breakfast is lovely.

The bed is really nice.

It's a very reasonable price.

It's in a quiet area (believe me, even the best hotels have bars and discos behind them in Udon, this is by far one of the quietest in the city).

So, overall, I highly recommend it! 5 stars!

I love the Hotel The Lake. It is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is amazing: you get a menu with 4 different dishes, including a great Thai rice soup. You don't have to choose one, you can order several.
I would also like to highlight the cleanliness of the hotel. The view on the upper floors is very nice. There are 12 rooms with a lake view. These rooms are on the 3rd to 5th floors. The roof terrace offers a gigantic panoramic view.
I also appreciated the peace and quiet, as there are no bars or discos nearby.
You can't hear the elevator and the air conditioning works perfectly.
We stayed at the Hotel The Lake for two nights and the location is great: the hotel is very close to the Nong Prajak Public Park with the great lake.
In the morning and evening you can jog around the lake and ride a bike on a special road. You can rent bikes.

There are many nice cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and there is even an architecturally great ice cream parlor around the corner.
I can highly recommend the hotel.
