I spent a week there and I was highly impressed by the super friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms and overall relaxed environment. 5 star! Would recommend to anyone seeking a budget yet very clean and safe location. Only 10 minutes walk from the main Rawai Beach road which includes all restaurants and bars

Very Nice stay with a lovely staff, they also helped us finding transport in rawai on our first day, which were a Tuk tuk service by the man called Mr A, who we ended up becoming good friends with and he gave us a very special tour around all Phuket. Both Sandy house and Mr. A and his wife surprised us with a birthday cake to my little sister on her birthday. This stay was so special, and we definitely recommend you using Mr A and maybe get a sightseeing tour with him. These are the warmest people❤️

We spent three nights at the Sandy House and cannot speak highly enough of the experience. A seamless check- in process and a very well appointed spotlessly clean room, with all the necessary tourist requirements: good bed, great aircon, hot water, excellent wifi and a safe. The room did not have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but in the reception/dining area hot water, tea, coffee and milk are available 24/7, so no issues there.
Breakfast was included in our booking and offered a choice of Asian or Western, which we considered was more than adequate for the tariff.
The owner, Mon, and his family and staff were just superb and could not have been nicer or more helpful. Mon and his son in law speak excellent English and are knowledgable about the local area.
This is a real gem, and clearly has been for a long time, based on the consistently high rating it receives from TA reviewers.

While I'd love to give this hotel a full review, my experience was abruptly cut short. I booked online 1 week prior to arrival and received confirmation of the booking via email. I was instructed to pay upon arrival at the hotel.

I arrived and found the hotel to be full. The manager tried to find another hotel for me and checked 1 hotel (clearly one belonging to her friend). This was also full.

So basically I was left with some shrugged shoulders and left to find a place myself. Fortunately I had friends staying nearby and they were able to help me.

This was booked direct through the Sandy House website too, not through a booking agent. So they definitely received my email. Very disappointing experience!

Stayed here for a night as the guesthouse on the opposite side of the road (Good 9 at Home) was fully booked. The layout and overall look of the Guesthouse is lovely and very inviting.

However, the service and cleanliness of the bedroom and surrounding area of the guesthouse was questionable. Maybe it's because the owners were not around as it's low season now in Phuket but whatever it is, it was just so-so.

The staff were not that friendly and the rooms were dusty, towels smelt like they have not been used for a long time and the sheets were lined with tiny dead insects. The supposed 'queen size bed' were just two single beds pushed together.. Disappointing..

It's sad, because all the previous reviews regarding this guesthouse are great but again, I am assuming it's because the owners are not around so the staff did not really bother that much. We were after all the only guest in the entire guesthouse that day...

Hope it runs well just like the reviews have shown, even if the owners are not around..

Only stayed one night but the hotel is really nice. Staff is super friendly, price is great and the rooms are well-designed and clean.

They have cheap motorbike rental and also free bicycles available.

If you want to visit some of the nearby islands they also offer organized and fair priced trips.

10/10 points to Sandy from me!

We have just come back from our holiday in Rawai. We stayed 12 days in this guest house and I can say it was the best choice we made. The location is very peaceful and the hotel surrounded by a nice well maintained garden. The first thing I have seen when I woke up was a palm tree and I was just listening the birds song. The room was modern and what is the most important cleaned every day. Towels were changed regularly without asking it. The breakfast was lavish and delicious. They even made breakfast for take away for us when we went a tour in the early morning. Every member of the staff were extremly friendly especially the owners. Always welcoming and smiling and very helpful. They gave us a map and explained where we can find the most popular places and beaches and arranged boat and taxi and everything we needed. Fang (the owner) was so attentive that she even gave us aloe vera when she saw we got sunburnt.
Summary it is a very good hotel and good value for money. It is not a busy, party location so it is perfect for families and couples. But you can hire a motorbike and explore the whole island. Highly recommended. I loved every single minute I have spent here.

We stayed here for a few days and really enjoyed it. If you're going to Phuket, Rawai is a great place to escape the crowds and trashiness of Patong. The staff at Sandy house was really accommodating and the rooms were well cleaned and maintained. It's in a good location only a few minutes from the beach. My only complaint is that our room had a definite mildew smell that was quite strong at times.

Quiet location, cheap pricing and always clean. Short walk to Rawai beach, restaurants and bars, nothing flash but feels like home. Breakfast is basic but tasty. Motorbikes and pushbikes are available for rent

How much does it cost for transportation from the airport?
Answer from roadtrip57
British Columbia, Canada134 contributions46 helpful votes
Taxis are not cheap from the airport In Phuket. It is a 45 minute drive, at least, into Phuket. I rented a car while there, from Avis, near the airport. No problems with the rental. I hear you can catch a public bus from the airport, but you have to walk a long way out of the airport with your belongings, and find it out on the main road, somewhere. Too much walking in the heat, for me.
