The Shades Boutique Hotel Patong Beach has a decor and service that sets this hotel apart from the competition. With its luxury gilded wallpaper to custom gold/black wood trimmings in ALL rooms, The Shades has one of the most stylish room decors in Patong Beach. The hotel also has breakfast at the ground level restaurant, which is absolutely charming. The bar onsite can make delicious drinks as well. All rooms are air conditioned and offer FAST free Wifi which is a definite plus if you need to do some work. But, the biggest benefit of the Shades Hotel In Patong Beach is being very quiet at night despite being so close to the action of Patong Beach, Phuket. (1 Minute walk to beach front, 7 Minutes walk To Bangla Walking Street).

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Do not be fooled by these photos, they’re at Least 10’years old. We booked 3 rooms and all rooms are awful, decor falling off the walls, broken furniture, lights not working, mattress’s stained, sheets that don’t fit the mattress’s and keep pinging off the corners, double duvet for super king size bed, tv doesn’t work even if you autotune the list goes on.. if you want a hostel stay here if you want a hotel I’d stay well clear. Its in a poor state and at the end of a dirty road. The receptionist Bebe is cute she’d get it…

I stay at this hotel because the rooms looks clean and spacious and I love my air condition cold. Their rooms is perfect. The reception lady is always very friendly and the western owner cater the details need. Another plus is the great price and very close walking distance to the beach and walking street. Safe money on Tuk Tuk!! Lots of great restaurant on the same street and Landry and massage is 30 seconds walk. 😍😍

The Shades Boutique Hotel are close to the main beach, approximately 50m with only one road to cross, in a quiet cul de suc. It is also within walking distance from Jungceylon shopping mall, Bangla road for nightlife and Banzaan and Otop markets. (As well as numerous markets with stalls along the way) Banzaan especially in the evenings for affordable and clean street food. But there are a Burger King and a McDonalds close too, as well as numerous restaurants serving all kinds of food, At the beach you can catch the local blue bus to Phuket for only 30baht per person or at the police box opposite Bangla Rd you can catch the Smart bus to the airport or do some beach hopping. The staff, especially BeeBee will go the extra mile for their guests and are very friendly and helpful. They will also assist with booking tours or giving advise. The room we had were comfortable with a very good aircon, a must have in any Hotel in Phuket due to the extreme heat. We had a king size bed and all the amenities we needed. Take note, you have to climb stairs, but there are only four floors. We had a balcony, but due to the heat never used it. Rather stayed indoors in the cool room when we were not out and about. The beach close to The Shades had some massage ladies, the jet ski's were near as well as the paragliding guys. So for location, 10 out of 10!!! They serve a good breakfast from 08h00 to 10h00, consisting of a fruit juice, eggs, (done baked, scrambled or as an omelette) sausage and two slices of toasted bread with butter and jam. You can help yourself to coffee or tea afterwards. If it is not your thing to lie next to the pool but to explore and swim and relax on yhe beach, The Shades will be for you, as well as the price for what you get.

We stayed here for 2 nights the location is amazing literally 1 minute walk away from patong beach and sea. And 7-10 min walk along the prom the the nightlife of Bangla walking street! No taxis required. Millions of shops and restaurants around. Hotel located at the end of a quite street. The room was luxury and bed comfy. Staff amazing and breakfast was nice too! Thank you.

During my stay, I returned to my room to find a single size duvet cover on the double bed. The duvet cover was filled with a folded blanket. Also, only one pillow was supplied on the double bed. (photo uploaded) When I called the front desk to ask for proper bedding, they said the correct bedding was not available. I asked the front desk to contact the manager to remedy the situation. I was told the manager was also unavailable. I insisted the situation was unacceptable, front desk said I should email the manager myself. I again insisted that was unacceptable. Eventually the front desk staff arrived and supplied the proper bedding. However, they were very rude and blamed me for being unreasonable. Finally, when I checked out, I accidentally left an expensive phone charger and 2 meter USB cable in the room on the bed side table. I telephoned the hotel to ask hotel staff to keep it until I returned. However, I was told the cleaning staff 'didn't find it'. The manager offered no apology. Please be warned

Everything was fine at the beginning; room was nice, Bebe and Lee were nice, location was nice. But on our 5th day, We realized that some of our money which was in the safe was stolen. We informed Bebe and Mr.Sacha who is GM of the hotel but there was no response. We informed Sacha and at the beginning, he was fine then later on he even didnt answer our mails. They didnt do anything to cover our loss. Sacha told us his staff doesnt steal money but we lost it somewhere else. We know that we left the money on safe but he blamed us. Rest of our holiday was destroyed by their attitude and this thing. We later om realozed this is not the fiest thing; there were some other comments in Booking.com. If you want to stay in the hotel, yes rooms are fine but NEVER and EVER leave your valuable things at the room; even in the safe then they will also blame you.
