Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa is located on the hillside of North Patong. Only few minutes away from the Patong downtown where you can enjoy night life and shopping. We have a plenty of great choice of restaurants and bars within the hotel grounds, really impressive and well designed pool areas over looking the sparkling blue sea of Andaman. All rooms type are fabulous including our Pool Villas, all well appointed and furnished in gorgeous typically Modern-Thai furnishings.

Diamond Cliff Resort and Spa is often celebrated for its prime location, nestled between the liveliness of Patong and the serenity of the beach, offering a tranquil escape. While opinions on value differ, with some guests highlighting good deals and others pointing out higher costs, the hotel's amenities, including the well-maintained pools and diverse breakfast options, generally receive high praise. The hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness are frequently commended, although the charm of its traditional-styled rooms is occasionally marred by outdated decor. Service is largely acclaimed, though experiences can vary.

From start to finish this was a fantastic ten night stay in the most beautiful surroundings. We travelled as a family of 4, two adults and two kids aged 6 & 9.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted at reception by the pleasant staff. We were offered a cooling drink and a cool towel which we were all in need of.

Our luggage (as ourselves) were taking to our Diamond Jacuzzi Suite (5305) which was halfway up a steep hill.

Room
Beautifully decorated with warm wood in an opulent Thai style. The room consisted of a small double (sofa bed) and a huge queen size bed, separate jacuzzi bathroom, separate toilet, separate shower and a balcony with beautiful views over the Andaman sea. There was a daily stocked minibar (at a cost) and water bottles, coffee & tea replenished daily. The cleaning staff were fantastic and the room was serviced every day.

Pools
We spent the majority of our time at the Waterfall pool which had excellent pool bar food, cocktails and soft drinks. This pool was a lot cheaper and cooler than the Ocean View pool next to the restaurant. The staff here were amazing, so polite and helpful making fresh cocktails at the swim-up bar and table/subbed service was excellent. This pool also had a great water slide which entertained the children greatly! Never an issue getting sunbeds at any time of day and plenty of shade if needed.

Restaurants
We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was exceptional. Freshly cooked omelettes,, Thai food, continental selections, fruits and cereal. Kids loved the waffles and pancakes with Nutella!

Location
Despite being on an extremely busy road (staff will stop traffic to cross) the location is fab, two minute walk to north end of Patong beach and a good 20-25 mins to the “crazy street” (Bangla Rd) there is a 7/11 about 5 minutes away, turn left, down to Patong Neach sign and turn left. Well stocked with everything you’ll need. We used the shuttle to get up to our room as lots of steps for tired little legs and it was always quick and available to use.

Kids Club
This is a small set up, our youngest used it on a couple of days when the heat was unbearable and it’s quiet, cool and the staff are lovely.

Overall this is a fantastic hotel to use as a base to explore what Phuket has to offer. This was our frat trip to Thailand and we certainly were not disappointed. Thank you Diamond Cliff for a fantastic holiday!!

Stayed at this hotel from 01/03-01/10/2024. Overall I liked the hotel. We had a spacious sea view room with three huge beds. The room has a minibar (Plano), water is brought free of charge every day. Large bathroom with two sinks and a bathtub. There is a clothes dryer on the balcony. The hotel is located on a slope, so it will be difficult to get to the rooms that are located on the mountain, but there are cars that will take you to your room.
In the territory. The hotel has two large swimming pools, a small pool for the little ones, and a children's water slide. The children's club is open from 09.00-18.00. The breakfasts are good - there is everything that is usually prepared for breakfast in hotels and even more (miso soup, chicken soup, sushi, hummus). Fruits, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, vegetables, salads, juices, cereals, baked goods….
The only negative is that to get to the sea you need to walk along a road with practically no sidewalk for about 7 minutes. The beach is not bad. We chose this hotel solely because of its location in Patong.
I recommend the hotel if the first line to the sea is not important to you.

We could not have wished for a better hotel experience, the room was great , the pools were spotless and cool enough to enjoy without getting cold, the staff were always polite and responsive, we did not bother to eat at the hotel apart from breakfast which was always very good, rather we ate on the beach front at various places which were inexpensive and very good . We had no tummy problems at all. The beach area is noisy but the hotel is quiet and calm, although there are many steps within the hotel area there is also a small bus that moves you around if required.

Poor customer service provided by staff operating shuttle service and pool towel service is rude. There is so many stairs at this property so avoid staying here if you can’t climb stairs. Tuk tuk and taxi charge hire rate from this resort unless you haggle. Shuttle service won’t drop you where you want them. Staff at resort have poor English and seem to only understand American English and it’s very hard to ask for basic items like toilet paper as they expect you to use their bidet system.
Be prepared to tip if you want good service otherwise they don’t provide basic customer service like greeting you or smiling at you. I noticed friendly service to Caucasian’s compared to enthic guests unless you give good tip.
However the catering staff are wonderful and delicious food is served at this hotel. Luxury escape deals place you in outdated rooms so this property needs an update to their rooms.
The rooms have many doors in the bathroom which make it tricky to get around with kids, would be better to implement sliding doors. For a better experience there is many resorts in Patong beach which is closer to everything to reduce walking up the big hill.

Dear Ashwini, Thank you for your recent review, we value all feedback from our guests. We do apologize if you had a less than amazing experience, but we would like to offer some clarity also. We do not offer Tuk-tuk/ Taxi services, we do assist in calling these from the street & informing the drivers of the guest destination as such we have NO CONTROL over the pricing. We can only advise of the price given. I will also refute the claim that Caucasian guests are treated preferentially, we treat each and every guest with respect and pride ourselves on doing so. I will also highlight that over 68% of our guests are NOT Caucasian annually. We do hope that this offers some clarity to all and thank you once again for offering your perspective. Best regards, Philip Walker Hotel Manager

The pictures do not do this place justice - it is gorgeous! We were welcomed with a coconut drink and a refreshing towel and got a free upgrade to a sea view room. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were approachable and very helpful throughout the stay. Both of the pools were fabulous with the waterfall pool having a bit more shade, a swim up bar and QR codes on the umbrellas so you can order to your sun lounger (I highly recommend the lemon and lime frozen Daquiri). The restaurants are lovely too - more expensive that some of the places in town but they do a few deals and its still cheap compared to Irish standards. There is a sunset bar above the ocean view restaurant which is lovely and not advertised much. The location is great for getting into town and to the beach its just a short 5 min walk down the hill. Nearby, I would recommend the Sea salt restaurant (also owned by the hotel) - great views and delicious food, the Massaman Curry is the best!
If I had any criticism of the resort it would be that you can't get the welcome drink anywhere in the hotel, I would have bought this from any of the bars and on checking in you have to pay a deposit of 7000baht which i felt was a bit steep.

I feel that the Diamond Cliff resort should be more transparent about the location of the resort and the number of stairs required to be climbed or descended whenever moving about the resort.
I had just had a total knee replacement 8 weeks before and this was to be a relaxing holiday. My sister with whom I was travelling is not good on her feet and uses a walking stick.
We had booked the luxury rooms which turned out to be at the top of the hill. The resort provides shuttles from the lobby to a stop halfway up the hill. Because of our disability we were told to ask the driver to take us all the way up the hill to our rooms, but this is not accorded to most of the guests.
The problem was that there was no way to get to the dining room, bar or swimming pool without walking up or down 40 stairs, or the alternative walking up or down 60 stairs from the Lobby. I was not able to partake of the 3 massages as part of the plan as there were approximately 60 steps down and 60 steps up fro the spa.
The "luxury" rooms were large and did include a spa bath, but the decor was VERY tired and worn.
The meals were included had a good variety but the same menu lunch and dinner for the 9 days became a bit boring, especially as on different days (maybe a different cook) sometimes it was cooked well and others over cooked.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
We all returned home exhausted and tired, not refreshed as we should have been.
If we had known about the stairs we would have never booked our holiday at the Diamond Cliff resort, that is why I am writing this review

We chose this hotel as it looked fantastic online and it was to be a special holiday for myself and my wife .On arrival @ 9am our room wasnt ready(no problem) until 2pm so we were given a key for a lounge area but we opted to just go into town. When you arrive you pay 1000 Bht per night for a security depost and you are sent to the ATM in 7/11 to get it if you arrive with no or not enough cash.We paid when we came back @ 2pm.(We stayed for 8 days so that was 8000bht or 216 euro).
I inquired about all inclusive and was just told check online which i did but it was working at 40 euro per day per person and did not include food which was not good value in my opinion.
The room(2205) was spacious, bed comfortable but we noticed that the aircon randomly increased temp to 28 which caused the room to get very uncomfortable and when this happened at night time you woke up at 3am to the room being full of condensation making everything includind the bed feel wet.
This was obviously an ongoing problem that had never been addressed as previous guests had drawn male genitals on the mirrors which could only be seen when the room was full of condensation.I also noticed what seem to be a leak in the wardrobe of brown water which went onto the floor.
The floorboards in the room have also had some water event as they are lifting up and painted a different colour
I went to reception and informed them 2 days later nothing had been done.
Only for our key cards stopped working and we spoke to the manager again(Yuki) we managed to get something done.
They sent an a technician to fix the aircon but it still woke us up at random times at 28 and when you lowered it to 18 it stayed there for 10 seconds and went back to 28.....annoying to say the least. They gave us a complimentry dinner in the sea view restaurant.(Food was nice I just had fish which maybe could have been bigger)
I discovered that the TV while having a few international channels it cannot smart view with your phone which would have been helpful as I was ill and bed bound for 2 days.(nothing connected to hotel).
The pool area was lovely and the pool itself fantastic just sign for towels and leave them back when finished.
The pool bar chrages are nearly double of down down with chang beer 140bht and only 70 on Bangla rd for example.

Overall I think the hotel is very tired and could do with a major refresh.
This can be seen with paint flaking off the walls in areas and even mould coming through the paint on the balcony. The floors on the balcony were filthy and around the white doors obviously hadnt been cleaned in ages as the were black.
The balcony also had a piece of concrete missing were the glass partition goes in which looked horrid.

It looked alot better online than in person and as this wil be our only tIme to visit Phuket we were disappointed. Its shows a great 5 star hotel online that we had a 3 star experience in.

Maybe just unlucky as the reviews are generally pretty good but we wouldnt go back here even if we were in Phuket

Wow. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Not cheap by any means, but the service surpassed anything we’ve ever had. Our rooms weren’t ready when we arrived (10am), but we were given given vouchers for the restaurant and a drink at the bar.
The rooms are huge, and the bathrooms are spotless and well stocked with all you need, ie, razors, toothbrushes, moisturiser and plenty of shampoo and shower gel (top quality products too.)
Drinks are expensive, but it’s a 5*, so be prepared to pay a bit extra. It’s built on the side of a steep hill, but there’s a shuttle service that will drop you at your room any time of the day. There’s two pools, spotlessly clean and pool towel service is available.
You can also take towels from the hotel reception if you’re going out on trips, no charge. All in all, a wonderful hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.
Patong is just a short walk (downhill) if your fit, or just jump a tuk tuk from outside the hotel 200 baht.

We are now 1 week in the Hotel enjoying one of the Diamond suites with a Great View. The Staff is very friendly and addressing anything mentioned to them instantly. This is a local 5 Star Hotel with a lot of frequency - understandable that some things may Look used, but we can‘t complain, Even our room was made late on Sunday, some complaints on cleanliness were addressed quickly
The Pools offer a lot of space and good services from the Staff
The Location is ideal to Go for the beaches or the City- a 10-20 min walk or take a tuk tuk.
Breakfast is good, space is made quickly .
We will now check the restaurants andxreport later

This hotel is an oasis of calm in amongst the madness & noise of Patong Beach. Its grounds, pools etc are modern and lovely to spend time in. There were usually sun loungers free throughout the day but tended to be those with little shade. Despite the pool notices there were a few people reserving the shadier loungers with towels & not showing up until hours later which is annoying at any hotel but thankfully not too many of these people. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially those in the Ocean View restaurant. They all try so hard to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the room stocked & clean. We stayed in a diamond suite which was a paid upgrade & huge in terms of size but if staying again I’d definitely opt for a more modern cheaper room even if it had less space. Our room was a bit tired, needed some attention & smelt damp but not sure if it was the air conditioning that was causing the smell. Also needs more power points beside the bed for plugging phones into. There are a lot of stairs in this resort but I don’t feel unless you have mobility issues, this is a problem. We only used the shuttle when we had luggage otherwise we just walked without issue. We loved the location of Diamond Cliff, wouldn’t have liked to have been any closer to Patong as it’s very loud. Our package was via luxury escapes & excellent value for what it included.

Dear Julie, Thank you for choosing Diamond Cliff resort & Spa for your stay in Phuket and thank you for taking the time to rate your stay with us and provide us with such rich feedback. We take our guest satisfaction very seriously and we always strive to improve, rest assured that our engineers have already made their investigations about the smell from the air-conditioner and took proper actions to prevent this from happening in the future. We also found your recommendation about providing extra power sockets besides the beds very useful and we took heed of it. We really look forward to welcoming you again in the nearest future. I really have no idea about booking an All Inclusive package as the price of food outside the hotel is so reasonable. If you go onto the hotel website, no doubt they can advise you. The are literally hundreds of restaurants in Phuket, every nationality is catered for. We always book bed & breakfast and either eat out of go into the hotel restaurant if we are tired. It's a beautiful resort.
