What a great find. We usually stay down the southern end of Patong but I decided on a change this time and we could nor have been happier. We sayed in a pool access room which was perfect. Nice spacious rooms decent bathroom and shower pressure was just right.
No breakfast is included in the price but they do have a buffet breakfast if you choose to do so. They have their own little coffee shop on the premises as well with a great selection of coffees to choose from.
The pool is a little on the cool side but super clean and inviting.
All staff were super friendly and always ready to help.
Easy walk to the beach area and Loma Markets, plenty of choices for restaurants around as well as massage places.
We were so impressed we have already booked for next year.

It is nice, quite' family hotel. Clean and very friendly stuff. Basicly in center not far away from the beach. We stayed in room 102 and 202/kids and we really like the rooms. (Maybe the rooms inside the building are not so good located but also there is more than enough space and the bads are also ok. Food in hotel restaurant is good not expensive and you can try also some europe food like pizza' steak in case you've enough Thai food or your kids..

Terrible place! Even in jail one will not be treated this rude and respectless like they do in this hotel.
Staff is yelling all the time. Speak nor understand any basic English.
Rooms are old, smell unpleasant and in the bathroom most fixtures are broken. There is hardly any water from loose fosset/showerhead and filling the bathtub would likely cost you a full day. Cleaning was always half done and very late in the day. Multiple times needed to request for clean towels/drinking water etc. This hotel and employees don't deserve any star. Service and hospitality is completely absent.

Rude staff and they don’t make any effort to understand English. We booked a triple room and they gave us a room on the back of the building, which has rooms like aparthotel.
The rooms and the common areas are not correctly clean at all. The bathroom smells bad. You can hear everything from other rooms.
The swimming pool closes at 19 so if you do a tour during the day can’t use it after.
I had another reservation with them but cancelled it because it’s not worth the price.

Indians should not be booking this hotel as staff is very racist toward them. During checkin, the staff actually shouted on us because we asked for all 4 rooms on same floor. Finally, 4th room was given in a different building. Staff again shouted on us when they saw us wearing disposable slippers in lobby as they are meant to be worn only in rooms as they use the same slippers for next guest. Pool cannot be used post 7 PM. For everything they had a fine applicable. Hotels normally have policies but they had rules. We actually lived in fear as if we were in a hostel with a warden. And even if you still want to book this hotel, please don't book a superior room.

Room: Deluxe Room on 2nd floor
Periof of stay: 25/6/2010 - 28/6/2010 (4 nights)

Bad Experience:
One of the reasons we select this hotel because the hotel staff "Tim" promised to offer us a deluxe room type with sea view in the 5th floor. He also gave us some discount for successive stay of 4 nights.
Upon our arrival, however, Tim said that the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor were not opened in low season. He insisted that he already told us via email and I immediately vertified that he hadn't told us about this. He apologized for the mistake because he had too many emails to reply.
There were only few people stayed in the hotel but still many emails to reply? He hadn't mentioned any words in the email that the deluxe room in the 5th floor would be closed in low season. It appeared to me that it was just an excuse to attract us to stay in this hotel. We did ask for further discount or compensation but nothing was given except apologies.

Except the above bad experience, there are some PROS of this hotel and the rooms we stay:
1. The deluxe room is large, clean and new
2. The deluxe room has balcony
3. The hotel is quiet, you can enjoy peace and silence even in Patong area.
4. The hotel is convenience in location
5. Generally, the staff are nice

CONS:
1. No free internet (need to pay 100 Baht/hour)
2. Need to wait at least 10 minutes for hot water to come.
3. Very few choices of breakfast, once in 9:30am, there are only bread and fruit.
4. The water in swimming pool is not clear

Except the breaking of promise, Thanthip Villa Hotel could be a nice budgeted hotel. But for us, the hotel staff did disappointed us by making fake guarantee.

To start with.... Worst place lace ever i stayed at. Awful staff doesn’t know how to speak to guests. If you ask anything, most un-helpful people. Always warning against fines and what not to do on premises.

Now welcoming at all.
Lots of ants in the room, housekeeping services are very average.

Not recommended for stay at all.

I'm very impressed by the hotel even it is rated as 3*. This is a real good price-quality ratio. Firstly, its location is very convenient - hotel is hidden inside the quite narrow street where nothing except hotels and small shops located around. At the same time, Patong beach is in 200 meters from the resort, plenty of restaurants on the next street Ratuthit Songroipi road, famous Bangla road and Jungceylon shopping center in 15 min by feet.
I stayed with my family in two Deluxe rooms, one with pool access. Both are very good and provided with all you need - full set of bathroom amenities, hairdryer, flat TV (if you have time watch it), sofa. Bathroom is clean, no issues with water inside the shower cabin and bath tube.
The hotel staff are very friendly, they smile frankly and ready to help you all the time. Many thanks for the good service!
I recommend this hotel to anyone, family or friends.

DO NOT GO THERE!
After we checked in Thantip beach resort and got a "standard" room our problems began. The room was very small, no balcony, not even any WINDOW. It was quite dirty, the place was full of someone's hair, and toilets were dirty. It was quite stuffy (which I assume is normal because there are no windows). We asked the staff to bring two chairs to the balcony on our floor so we could wait there until our room is air conditioned- we did not get it.
We asked the staff for something to put/dry our wet clothing from beach / pool we did not get. They just waved with their hand NO, NO, that does not go with Standard room. After a few hours, they managed to provide us with a hanger.
We booked Hotel on Orbitz, so after unsuccessful “talk” with the hotel staff, we sent an appeal to Orbitz. Nothing changed, the hotel was still dirty, and the staff was still rude. Orbitz only gave us a voucher for 50$??!
The worst thing about hotel is definitely the staff, no matter what happens in life a kind word can fix everything. And the Thanthip staff is not unkind, they are extremely rude.
Photos say more than a million words, so here it goes…..
