Spent a weekend at Sabai@Kham in February 2020. The most impressive feature is the staff: lovely warm, friendly and helpful people. The rooms are basic but comfortable. We had two rooms, one had ok wifi, but the second, at the end of a corridor had little or no wifi service. Could be improved. The hotel has lush, tropical gardens and is only 10 minutes walk to the famous bridge. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent; a good selection of western and Asian items, bread and pastries. One odd feature was that because of the grade of our room, we did not get hand towels- yet this is not a budget hotel.

We travelled here together with friends in December 2023 as a base to visit the Bridge on the River Kwai and the Erawan National Park, I wasn't expecting that the hotel itself would be such a highlight.

Literally within walking distance of the Bridge and associated museums, the hotel is beatifully and unobtrusively designed, with a layout that extends around a central garden area an pool. The rooms were spacious, with comofrtable beds and with the extremely valuable inclusion of a fridge. Our rooms overlooked the pool and gardens and were a joy to stay in, especially at night when the sounds of wildlife penetrate the air.

You are close enough to the main road to walk, but far enough for the area to be quiet, even with the numerous restaurants and bars located close by, catering for local street foods up to higher qulaity international fare.

The kids loved playing in the pool, while the ladies luxuriated in massages on a daily basis. This left the men sitting by the pool supervising the kids and even this was a comfortable, pleasant experience.

Breakfast has a nice variety of local and international foods and it was very easy to eat your fill every day before starting out on your adventures. On that note, the staff were extremely helpful in facilitating whatever you needed and the drivers etc they called seemed to be very reasonably priced.

So yeah. a beautiful place. there aren't many hotels that I leave thinking 'I must come back here', but this one hits the spot in every way.

Comfortable bed, large shower. Large room.

Helpful & very pleasant staff.

The rooms 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 & 105 looking over the gardens & pool are the pick.

Good location, 10min walk to River Kwai Bridge & a reasonable selection of cafe's & restaurants all close by.

Fab little hotel . Breakfast really good . Staff extremely helpful and great location. The only problem was the swimming pool as the water was not very clean and other guests noted the same . Despite this , as I’m not a lover of swimming pools . I would definitely book this Hotel again . Request ground floor swimming pool . Really nice to sit outside your room and chill with a couple of drinks .

This is a great little hotel/resort. Peaceful garden area with swimming pool, nice buffet breakfast with pleasant staff. Rooms very clean and bed very comfortable. Mini bar very reasonably priced. Excellent value for many. Can’t ask for much more considering the price. Near all the major attractions as well. Would definitely stay again.

Very well appointed and lovely staff. The gardens are lovely and the pool setting excellent. Breakfast was ok but wholesome. This definitely worth a look and quite close to everything especially the bridge and markets. Good restaurants not too far away,

First up, I didn't pick it as it was part of a tour we did with Bangkokdaytours.com and was included in the price. So, expectations were limitted.
Well, from the road I though it looked a bit average. Once inside it's really cute. Not elaborate or modern by any stretch but neat, tidy and friendly helpful staff. And the mini bar was resonably priced (surely a glitch in the Matrix?)
Nice little swimming pool, pretty gardens and a reasonable buffet breakfast. You couldn't go wrong.

We recently stayed at the Sabai - an excellent family run hotel and well worth it. This is our third trip to Thailand and second trip to Kanchanaburi. We are familiar with the good, bad and backpacker ghettos of Thailand and have a good sense of value for money. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children).

From the outset, the staff were so nice - even driving us to the bus station last minute so that we didn't miss our bus to Erewan!

The garden and pool make the hotel truly an oasis. Evenings sitting in the garden having a drink were some of our best memories of Kanchanaburi.

Thankfully the hotel isn't in any Lonely Planet guide...

There were 4 of us who booked in for 6 nights and had the most wonderful stay. We were greeted by a number of staff, all who's English was really good which was helpful. One of the party had a broken foot and her leg was in a moon boot so getting around was a bit difficult. The owners son drove my friend to a pharmacy so she could buy a walking stick. Extremely kind. The rooms were simple and very clean. Our beds had fresh linen everyday and there were clean towels as well..
The gardens were lovely and vey well tended. They even had rabbits which were put to bed at night (sometimes by the security guard!). There was a mango tree with ripe mangoes which they sometimes cut up for us. The pool is very refreshing and clean.
Breakfast always had eggs, fried rice, sometimes noodles, salad and fresh fruit and of course cereal. I thought it was pretty good.
The staff booked 'songtels' for us whenever we needed one and we always got the same driver who was fantastic and extremely patient with us. He was very caring of our friend with the moon boot.
They staff also booked our trip to hellfire pass on the 2 occasions we went. They also booked me a foot massage in my room and it was amazing. Well worth doing.
The hotel is about 1 kilometre from the Bridge over the River Kwai and is easily walked to especially first thing in the morning when the weather is a it cooler. In the other direction is the pub and restaurant area and again easy to walk to. There is also a very handy bar next to the hotel run by a Dane who is very hospitable.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel as it is an oasis of calm in a very busy area (especially around ANZAC Day.) and the most friendliest and kindest staff you will ever find.
