Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Boutique Raft Resort is better than the pictures. It really is a beautifully presented property right in sync with nature. I stayed in a River Kwai Suite which was spacious and nicely decorated with huge windows facing the water. I agree the bathrooms could do with a freshen up, as other reviews have suggested. The fridge was well stocked and priced, however there was no tea or coffee making facilities which was disappointing and I was charged 100 baht for a L coffee. That said the staff were exceptional, each and every one of them, even with their very limited English. The General manager who owns and runs the resort was super helpful, spoke excellent English and was very hands on. The food was well priced, presented and tasty, although a little basic. I was led to believe it would be easier to book my tours from the hotel on arrival. Unfortunately this really was an expensive option as a solo traveller, as everything was a ‘private’ tour with the resort van. The bike tour was also unavailable. The other thing to be aware of is there are dogs outside the property and they were not friendly. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day :/ I decided to go for a walk and they surrounded me barking aggressively. I love dogs but this meant a quick exit. Unfortunately I felt confined to the property from then on, which wasn’t necessary a bad thing but I would have liked to go exploring. I highly recommend this property you won’t be disappointed and I would love to come back.

Really beautiful place with fantastisk view. Awsome to sit on the deck and listen to the Sounds of nature. Good bed and nice room. The door to our room could not lock, so that was a bit uneasy. On the other side of the river there was a generator (or something like that) making noise for hours. On the Down side, the service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow, and the staff looked like they rather be somwhere else. We had a set menu and there was not enough food, it tasted fine. There where insanely many bugs (ants and other tings flying in the air) so We had to cover food and drinks. The prices in the minibar very good (not expensive like in many other hotels). The hotel it self would have been perfect with a normal pool (i’m scared to go in the river “pool”). Breakfast was a la carte and again maybe a bit more food, but tasted good and no bugs at breakfast.

Hotel is a distance from town area but it relatively near to nature spots like Erawan waterfall. Hotel feel very cozy and rustic, all the rooms are floating on raft, you cannot feel the wave though. Great river view. You can actually dip your leg into the river from the balcony side of the room. toilet is spacious and there is usually 2 beds in each room. I knock my knee twice on the protruding bed frames so be careful about this. The hotel staff is very hospitable and friendly and there is some activity you can book via the hotel reception, like rafting and nearby day trips. Highly recommended to join the rafting activity which takes one hour up and down the river and you can see many other similar resorts. Breakfast is provided FOC but lunch and dinner you have to pay , there is no restaurant near by so mostly have to eat at the level 2 restaurant or you can order to your room, price is reasonable though and quite tasty. Highly recommended if you want to experience an outdoor stay

The good: The staff is lovely, the food is ok but plenty for breakfast & good coffee, the view is stunning! Breakfast was upstairs with a gorgeous view of the River, a suspended bridge and dreamy mountains. The room’s deck was a floating raft where all of your worries seem to be swept downstream. Fish were swimming around us, and beautiful wooden deck chairs positioned just right for the best view. We were lucky to have a room next to other family members, because

The Bad: privacy is non existent, but it would be very hard to do with those type of rooms anyway. The room is large, but dusty, filled with spider webs and in need of repair. Too many dirty areas with peeling paint, stains on chairs, peeling furniture, a leaking a/c (I mean water streaming down).Every corner something clearly neglected (dead bugs included). Aging and dirty furniture, broken bathroom faucet, and nowhere to hang your towel or clothes in the bathroom. We only stayed for one night, and honestly, we could care less about about the rest because our morning was magic!

Staff not friendly at the check-in and very eager to upsell you another room type, we paid already 2300 thb but they wanted 300 baht more.

The room is old and dirty cobweb on eyesight, I can understand if its high on the ceiling but this was bedside bed. In the middle of the night the aircon stopped working, because it's so old and no maintenance. Be aware there's no tv in the room. And very far from the center of Kanchanaburi. This raft hotel is not worth 2600 thb there are much better options.

The only plus is the breakfast that was okay nothing special.

I stay on the raft R17 if I’m not wrong.
Everything in the room are super old, blanket, towel etc.
The smell in the toilet are terrible, wanna throw up every time I used basin. The toilet is broken, it’s about to fall apart, so scary.

Not the accommodation, I will return for sure.

The plus.
Food! We had dinner at the resort (group of 5), every dishes are yummy.

The welcome was super friendly! The 'rooms' on the water are absolutely amazing! With a Chang on the deck enjoy the view and the longtails on the Kwai. The room is very neat and equipped with everything you need. The minibar is well stocked. Our room was suitable for 3 guests. Enjoyed breakfast with a beautiful view.

The first thing you need to know about this place is that it is not in the town of Kanchanaburi...it's about 50 kilometers northwest of the town of Kanchanaburi. We actually didn't know this, but it turned out to be just fine. It's actually closer to two the things we wanted to see (Hellfire Pass and elephant rides), so it turned out great.

We rented a moped and drove out there, but the hotel does have a shuttle.

The hotel is actually ON the river. They have "raft" rooms that are floating on the river. It's a pretty cool experience. There were several families staying there and all of the kids seemed to have a great time.

You can book various activities through the hotel, but they are a bit pricey. I'd recommend, if you have your own transport, to go to things on your own. Get a good map and drive yourself. However, for convenience, the package deals from the hotel are OK, too. The more events you book, the better the price.

We really enjoyed staying here for one night. I'm not sure I'd want to stay much more that two nights. It's pretty much right in the middle of the jungle, so that was neat. If you have trouble with the sound of water all of the time, they have rooms up on the land, too.

The actual facilities in the room were pretty meager. It's pretty much a rustic cabin on the water. Not a luxury place, by any means. They have a restaurant, acceptable food but nothing spectacular. We actually walked down the road for one meal and went to a family-run restaurant that had great food. Breakfast was pretty good, though.

Nam Tok Railway Station, 10 minutes from hotel by taxi.

Hi there Naomi ! I guess you are arriving to Nam Tok train station. Thats about 2,5 kilometers from the hotel. The town/village is quite hassle free. This meaning that you should have no problem in getting the transportation from the train station (might take some minutes to get a taxi but this part of the country is specially friendly and relaxed -so no probs). The other option is that you ask a pick up from the hotel -its a well run hotel with very capable management -better to call them if you wish them to handle the transportation ;) According to my understanding Nam Tok is the end station on this route. So just enjoy the ride and take it easy :) You can check the web pages like: kanchanaburi-info / train to get further information Have a great trip ! Kaj
