We thought we were going to elephantworld but ended up here instead. It was quite a rushed experience. Elephants were maybe not badly treated but not well treated either. It was a great experience to meet the elephants and to "bathe" with one. But I would pay more for the peace of knowing that the elephants were treated better and...

When I booked my birthday trip to Bangkok. The first thing that comes to mind is to be able to visit the elephant camp and ride/bathe them. So I asked the staff in our hotel to arrange a package tour of the River Kwai and Elephant Ride package. Kanchanaburi is about 2 to 2.5 hours away from Bangkok depending on...

We booked a day tour including lunch buffet, bamboo river rafting and elephant riding. The elephants seem well treated here. We got to ride for about 30-45 minutes. In comparison to another elephant riding tour I did in Chaing Mai this one is much shorter. It's a quick walk around the area with great views of the River Kwai. This...

We went here as part of our day tour, and I am really awed when I saw the elephants. They have chains on their neck and 1 also have chain on his feet. I was really happy with the experience of riding on an elephant, but after that, I felt guilty. but still, this experience is a memorable one.

We were here as a part of a round trip. I strongly recommend Somnuk Elephant Camp, we were excited! It's amazing experience, to ride an elephant. Animals are very calm and cute. I know that many people who love animals can be against these camps but don't worry. The thing is that these animals were previously used for work in...

Went here as part of a day tour of activities in Kanchanaburi - thinking we were going to ElephantWorld. It was the saddest place I have seen, elephants in chains, walking round and round in circles with tourist and too much weight on their backs. The trainers sitting on the elephants heads with big metal hook things on sticks to...

I was directed up the steps as soon as I arrived and was put straight onto the seat and the elephant bumbled off around the river side scrub for 20 minutes. It would have been nice to meet the elephants first as I didn't see its face so it was a rather a hurried affair.

We had an afternoon at the camp, first we rode the elephants then rafting. Elephant ride was ok felt a little short changed as we stood in the field for sometime while the drivers had a conversation in Thai. Felt the hitting of the elephants was a little excessive. The raft ride was relaxing following the high speed boat ride...

An excellent experience with the elephant and his handler. A once in a lifetime thrill to be up and close and interact in the river with a gentle elephant while he played. A highly recommended experience that Gould be taken up if you have the opportunity.
