Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin first opened its doors in the early 1920s at a time when Hua Hin was still a sleepy coastal village. This beachfront resort was built along the classic lines of that era, with phenomenal gardens and spacious rooms and suites (up to 170 sqm.) with high ceilings, polished hardwood flooring, period furniture, and Thai silk. The 42 villas offer privacy, space (up to 120 sqm.) and a terrace with Jacuzzi or plunge pool. The resort has plenty of leisure options for adults and children: 4 swimming pools and children’s pools, a spa, a fitness centre, 2 tennis courts, Muay Thai and Tai Chi classes, and 2 kids clubs. Plus, the town is outside our door, and some of the best golf courses in Thailand are within easy travelling distance. The dining venues include a colonial style café, an all-day dining restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, a Thai restaurant, and the modern COAST Beach Club & Bistro. The resort is a natural for dream wedding celebrations.

The Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin garners praise for its colonial elegance and tranquil gardens, offering guests a serene retreat with a historical vibe. Nestled in a prime central location with easy beach access, it's a stone's throw from lively markets and dining venues.
Guests have called out the spotless premises and meticulous housekeeping, though some believe the rooms could benefit from modernization. The hotel's exceptional service and staff receive accolades, as does the value offered through various benefits, despite some remarks on the cost of food and beverages.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed for 8 days in a pool villa. It had the charming feel of a cape cod beach cottage, high ceilings, large window which made the room very bright, The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom quite rustic that retained a cottagy feel. Inside shower was pretty small, but we enjoyed the private outdoor shower. Our private pool area was the perfect place to hang out after a whole day at the beach. With the pool villa came special services such as a free cocktail hour at the club, which served a nice array of hors d'oeuvres from 5-7. A nice breakfast was served at the club as well as at the villa campus' poolside. Great little buffet and eggs and pancakes to order. The hotel has beautiful grounds, plenty of different pools to suit everyone. Service was superb throughout our stay. The hotel has a large campus with green lawns, cool topiary, great little restaurants and bars. It felf very separate from town, but is actually adjacent to town which is easily walked to.There were plenty of sunbeds at the pools, but the hotel doesn't supply sunbeds on the beach. This proved to not be a problem because there were private areas that provided beds and drinks and amazing thai food for a very reasonable fee. We shopped around and wisely chose to use the sunbeds at Madame bPOO's which is in the #6 slot. Madame Boo is a great cook and a warm and welcoming host and made us feel special and pampered. She and great

Hua Hin has been the destination for our annual winter escape from Europe for close to 2 decades. Each of the four hotels (three in top category) we have stayed at have had its pluses and minuses, the latter eventually inciting us to try a new hotel. Centara Grand, in a category of its own because of its history (and the cost of staying there), has lots of pluses.
The old colonial style of the sprawling hotel, and the vast gardens, virtually a park, beautifully maintained, along a wide stretch of sandy beach, provides the ideal setting for a peaceful holiday. As soon as you enter the imposing gate to the property, you quickly forget that you are at the centre of crowded tourist destination.
The high ceilinged rooms and associated verandas and balconies are larger than in most hotels, and we were hardly ever disturbed by the occupants of neighboring rooms.
We had taken a club option, which we did not regret. There were free drinks during happy hour time, with delicious canapés, and the breakfast was particularly good. Throughout the day the service in the club was extraordinary efficient. The essence of Thai hospitality.
Very familiar with the many golf courses in Hua Hin, we had asked the hotel to reserve tee times according to our preferences. It turned out that the hotel subcontracts golf logistics to GolfAsian, which provides hassle free service via a permanently manned desk at the hotel, taking care of reservations and transportation to the various courses. In contrast to a private golfing arrangement with GolfAsian, in this case there is no advance payment, and you can change or cancel a tee time reservation with just a day’s notice.
We appreciate the availability of a decent internet network, usually a weak point in Thailand. However, for the first time in Hua Hin we found a lightening fast fiber network. Fast internet was included with our Club room but there may be a charge for other room categories.
Among the hotel’s four restaurants, we avoided the gastronomic Railway restaurant with its French menu. Living in Provence, we come to Thailand to enjoy Thai and other Asian cuisine, which has so much to offer. We also soon gave up on the bistro, Coast, with its strange menu of international fast food. Given the predominantly senior and even super senior guests of the hotel, the disco music at Coast did seem out of place.
Instead, we often visited the Japanese Hagi and the Thai restaurant Suan Bua, both probably among the best in Hua Hin in their categories. Hagi is located outside the main hotel complex, and easy to find, while the Thai restaurant is tucked away in the next door villa resort, which is also part of Centara (so well hidden that few guests seemed to venture over there).
We are already looking forward to returning next winter.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the on duty manager Jan who welcomed us back as returning guests. It was our third stay which resulted in an upgrade to a ocean view room. We’d previously stayed in a Spa Villa and also in a large room overlooking the quiet elephant garden pool area. As it was a room change we were escorted to the room and asked to approve it before our luggage was delivered to us. Upon seeing the room and it’s fabulous view it was a definite yes.
The room was spacious, airy, beautifully decorated and had many little extras that we’ve come to expect of the Centara. Bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast selection was plentiful with daily egg specials. Service throughout the hotel from reception to Gardner’s to pool staff or cleaners was top notch.
New for this year was the free walking tour of Hua Hin which we took with Ant who was great company so would certainly recommend.
Highlight for us was the turning on of the Christmas lights in the Elephant Topiary garden. Stunning.
The hotel location is great with it being in the centre of Hua Hin when you leave the large grounds and the customer service provided is excellent .
My only criticism would be the gym which is quite small and the equipment provided is in need of updating. I used a local outdoor gym and with the large grounds available it would be a great
If something like this was added at the hotel.
We would return in a heartbeat.

This hotel is the first seaside resort that built in 1921 by State Railway of Thailand. So this place is historical remarkable by itself.
This place has been modernised by 21th century standard and you can enjoy cleaned, large bed, air conditioning and modern facilities as regular 5-stars hotel. Three swimming pools is large enough for relax and chill out but some swimmers may prefer square shaped old pool.
This place is alao great for urban explorer due to its location in the centre of the town, you can walk to night market, main streets for anything.
Tea time at the Museum café and Dining at the Railway restaurant is quite good during the stay, outsider can come to eat there too.
However, buffet breakfast have variety of choices from Eastern to Western food. But the deliciousness of food could be better.

We had a garden villa with pool and club benefits. Was an amazing stay and would say one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The hotel itself is stunning with beautiful botanical grounds and 3 public pools although we stayed in our private pool most of the time. So relaxing and the biggest bed ever! Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. For an extra treat and a small charge we had a floating breakfast in our pool one morning which had so much food with it we had it for lunch too. Worth using the private access on to the beach and trying the local beach bars. No.11 stand, Toy and his wife are lovely and serve great food. The staff are all lovely and very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a perfect location for walking into town, its on the doorstep and yet provides the peace and tranquillity of a beach side resort.

I had stayed in the Premium Deluxe on the ground floor of Garden Wing, the room features with 2 double beds with high ceiling and colonial design the bathroom is specious and clean, there is the large dressing area, this is one of the first resort in this country but they maintain the room, ground, public areas in the good condition, no defect in the room at all (no dust, clean and well grouting in the bathroom & cool A/C)
Service at the front desk, club lounge and reception are world’s class, staff are courteous and always welcome the guests and visitors with genuine smile, this really represent Thai Hospitality.
We met the director of rooms Mr. Kitti in the club lounge and ask for feedback during stay which I gave some points which the resort can be improved.
The breakfast offer wide range of selection although was quite busy but staff kept calm and did the great job.
The charm of this hotel are many things such as the historical colonial design, 4 big pools including public pool in Villa Side, beautiful garden which gardener look after well, but the great asset is your staff.
I will definitely come back very soon, this is one of the best hotel in Hua Hin and one of the best memory in my life.
Thank You Centara Hua Hin Team, keep doing the great job

As always the Centara has again excelled with the presentation of their resort, beautiful gardens, 2 pools and lots of activities to do like chess, table tennis, 2 pools.
We spent 4 nights and was not disappointed with the service provided by staff, the rooms, the facilities and breakfast which offers you Asian and Western selection and varies slightly each day.
I feel this resort caterers more towards people who have a family (as they have a kids club on offer) or retirees (there was a lot of regulars who come same time each year and stay 3 weeks to 3 months and have done so for past 10 years plus, was told be a regular they even get the same room, same seat at breakfast and by the pool). A few in between but mainly over 60's age group.
Great location you can walk to restaurants, bars, mini marts, local stores and massages.
They do have a problem pigeons which was a bit off putting especially if you sat outside to eat or have drinks. We had room 106 which had no balcony just garden area to sit which had lots of mosquitos so we couldn't utilise this area.
I do recommend this hotel but for either for families or over 60's.

If you want a typical five star hotel, then this is not the property for you. This beautiful heritage property - the old Railway Hotel is now run by the Centara group and is beautifully maintained and with great service from check in to check out.
The precautions for COVID are duly maintained which is a key factor in modern times.
The shout out to the staff at the club room who remembered the name of my daughter and gave her a shout out whenever she was walking past the club. ( The personal touch makes the experience sweeter).
Another shout out to the room cleaners who offered a ballon to my daughter which became her favorite accessory during her entire stay.
They know how to provide service and I will be visiting them again soon.
The beach is good but not great due to the rocks but the low tide makes for some great photo opportunities and get up early for the sunrises.
Hua Hin has many properties but I will recommend this property without any hesitation.

This is the 6th time I’ve stayed at this great hotel & it still maintains the highest standards it had back in 2015 when I first had the pleasure of staying for a week.
On arriving at the hotel, they provide automatic temperature checks & hand sanitizer before entering the lobby & all staff at all times are wearing masks.
Before entering the restaurant for an unbelievable breakfast, they have automatic temperature checks, disposable gloves to wear & ask all to please wear masks while collecting your food.
The service you get from all the staff from the lobby, restaurants, cleaners and the pools are excellent. I find that all the staff are very friendly, attentive at all times and are willing to help if you have any problems or just to find a certain shop down town.
I have to mention the breakfast as I said above it’s an unbelievable smorgasbord of food from so many different countries & the chefs & other staff who are working very hard are always ready to help you if you require it.
My room is spacious, clean & tidy. The cleaning staff also work very hard as they restock the room with all the amenities, dust, change the sheets, towels & sweep the floor.
The garden staff need to be mentioned as they keep the gardens in an amazing condition with plenty of quite areas to read or to relax in.
The pools & the gym are well maintained & the grounds have a dart board & a great large chess game set up ready to be used at any time.
Down town Hua Hin city is only 5 to 10 minutes away from the hotel, either a walk or a quick ride in a Took Took for a price of 100 to 150 Thai Baht will get you to either of the two big supermarkets, the night market or many restaurants to eat in.
I would like to mention the GM of this hotel who always makes you feel welcome as he walks around the hotel and talks to guests during the days.
I’m sure I’ll be back for my 7th time with my mates next year & would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Hua Hin.

I would like to mention the GM of this hotel who always makes you feel welcome as he walks around the hotel and talks to guests during the days.
I’m sure I’ll be back for my 7th time with my mates next year & would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Hua Hin.

You are right in the middle of town, a short walk from everything.
We found All the staff at this hotel were polite and friendly, very professional, from the hotel entrance, to the bell boys, reception, maids, bars, breakfast, and gardeners. A joy to interact with staff that have been properly trained and schooled in customer service.
Reception was very smooth and slick. At first a bit reluctant to show me the rooms, understandable in present Covid climate. Trust was quickly gained and they even allocated me a room on the 3rd floor with a super view from the very large balconies.
The rooms had everything you could want, big comfy beds guaranteeing a good nights sleep. The Buffet breakfast was an excellent choice of Asian and European dishes, great way to start the day.
We really enjoyed our stay, so much so we extended another 2 days

Nein, dass ist nicht wahr. Trinkwasser wie Singha Wasser ist kostenlos, aber Mineralwasser wir Evian muss bezahlt werden. Diese Evian Flaschen haben aber auch diese Info am Hals hängen.
