It was a different experience staying at Donkey's Rest. Andy and his wife were very friendly and pleasant and their two little daughters were a constant joy. We went as a 9-member group who really enjoyed the stay. It will be a lasting memory staying in Donkey's Rest.

My girlfriend and I booked a king-size room for 9 nights at the start of May. We were informed by Andy (the owner) that the price would be 850 baht a night, which was low season price. Very reasonable. On arrival, Andy kindly helped us with our bags and showed us to our room. The room was big and spacious,...

After reading other reviews, I expected a great deal from Donkey's Rest. I liked it, but I don't think it lived up to what I came to expect. The room was nice and clean, and having a refrigerator was handy. I enjoyed the swimming pool next door. There were some nice restaurants near by as well as Market Village, a...

Large, pleasant air-con room, with a big balcony set us back $30 per night, decent value in over-priced Hua Hin. The trains are pretty loud but, to my surprise, in the night I slept through them. Andy and Duong are likeable hosts. I think the beach is more than the 500 meters suggested by others, but it's walkable, and certainly...

Big clean room with good aircon, big comfortable bed, good shower with plenty of pressure, tv with english stations, a balcony with chairs to relax on, a nice pool next door. People comment that it's far from town but all you have to do is walk to the main road and flag down a passing green songthaew (truck/taxi) and you...

I stayed here last December and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was only booked in for 4 days but ended up staying for 8! Andy & Duong are great hosts, perhaps a little too great as i ended up having a few too many with Andy on the last night and almost missed my train South. The hotel is a bit...

The room was large and cleaned daily, there was air con and a hot shower as well as complimentary toiletries, access to a pool which is a stones throw away, a well stocked and cheap mini bar, cable tv,a downstairs bar and excellent massage palour next door and great restaurant down the road (the only thing...

“The room on the top floor left hand side of the building (if you are facing the railway tracks and inside the room) is where I stayed and seemed to be the best of the ones I saw. It had the largest balcony and most windows. Beware if you are a light sleeper, a train passes every hour or so throughout the night within a few metres of the hotel. I was so tired I didn't hear it much!”
