Our family with 2 young boys decided to visit the beach again, but on a weekday. This is probably our 5th visit to this hotel in 3 years.
We chose this hotel because of its location away from Central Hua Hin. The hotel to Central Hua Hin is about 25 kilometers.

We checked-in on Sunday and checked-out on Tuesday. On the second night, we chose the package with 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), but excluding drinks. We chose the Lanai room, which is on the lobby level with access to the garden. The big pool is under renovation and would not open until August. However, there is a smaller salt water pool on the other side of the hotel. The room has been somewhat renovated.

Breakfast was great, where we could order eggs, bacon, ham, and sausages by writing it on the paper that is provided. Getting bread or drinks, you would have to walk over and the staffs would get them for you. During breakfast, there were a couple of guests who did not wear a mask while choosing the food and walking around in the restaurant. We complained to the staff that they should not allow guests to walk around without wearing a mask. We saw improvements the following day where they insisted that all guests must wear face masks when entering and walking around in the restaurant. The following morning, we saw a family of 4 who wanted to have breakfast but came without face masks. The staff politely told those guests that the policy is that you must wear face masks to enter the restaurant.

The lunch set and dinner set were a bit disappointing as there were only 3 choices for the main course. For lunch, you could choose between pizza, Pad Thai fried noodles, or beef masaman curry. For dinner, the choices were beef cheese burger, spaghetti seafood, or noodle with chicken curry. Since we had young kids and don’t eat beef, the choices were limited. Once back at the room, we had to order additional food through room service. We wouldn’t recommend booking the room with the food plans unless you fancy their choices. It may look reasonable, but don’t forget that drinks are not included.

One of the good point of the hotel is that it is connected to the nice beach. The sand was quite nice in color (white to light-brownish). The kids enjoyed playing in the sand and the beach.
The other good thing is that there was no crowd since we chose a weekday. Occupancy rate was likely below 50%. On a weekday, it took us about 2 hours and 15 minutes to cover the 175 kms from Bangkok. On a Friday or weekends, it would have taken us slightly over 3 hours because of the traffic.

Dear Journey_Delight, Thank you for once again placing your loyalty and trust in our ‘Lovely beach resort’ for your latest seaside escape. Our location, just 10 kilometres and 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of town, does indeed allow peaceful family relaxation by day and, whenever required, lively nights in Hua Hin. We are delighted that you enjoyed the new-look breakfast arrangements and thank you for highlighting the social responsibility of all diners to proactively protect everyone in the prevailing climate. Please accept our apologies that you were restricted by the set-dining options. Rest assured that your comments and preferences have been noted by all concerned should you return to Dusit Thani Hua Hin in the future. Nevertheless, we are pleased that your family, on the whole, enjoyed your latest visit though we are committed to ensuring we provide the 5-star stay we always aspire to deliver on your next visit, by which time a new state-of-the-art chlorination system will be in place in our Olympic-sized Salathip Pool and the completion of roadworks should ensure an even smoother journey south from Bangkok. Dear Journey_Delight, in closing and on behalf of the entire team, we would like you to know how much we value your continued patronage and all look forward to welcoming you back in the not-too-distant future. Until then, we remain, Graciously yours, Chantima Homneam Total Quality Management Manager

I had a fantastic stay at this resort. The room was large, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, although a little expensive as I hadn't included it when I reserved the hotel. The main pool was huge and everything I expected at a resort, and there was a smaller, quiet salt water pool too just outside my room. The restaurant for lunch and dinner had delicious food and was not expensive for a resort. Every single staff person was so gracious and helpful. The public areas of the resort buildings and the grounds are just beautiful, and the gym is well equipped. The hotel is a few miles north of the center of town but there was a frequent shuttle, sometimes free and sometimes inexpensive, which I used to get downtown when I wanted to go. I also used the shuttle to get to the hotel when I first arrived at the train station, and after I checked out the shuttle dropped me off right at the airport bus station for Bangkok airport, which is very convenient. A benefit of not being right in the center of town is that the Dusit Thani's beach is really wide and clean and I enjoyed swimming in the sea every day. The beach in town is not as nice. Overall, the Dusit Thani was everything I'd hoped it would be, and more!

Dear Victor B, It was our pleasure to serve you on your recent visit to Dusit Thani Hua Hin and we are glad you had a “fantastic stay”. Your kind words will be shared with the entire workforce as motivation to continue delivering the 5-star levels of gracious Thai hospitality we have become renowned for over three decades. We were given an upgrade to a sea facing room and the view was immaculate, overlooking the main pool and the sea, wow!! Property is beauiful if you want to do nothing and just unwind and let yourself be.However its about 10-15 min from main city center and the hotel charges 50 Baht/person for 1 way drop. The hotel has almost every activity imaginable from a huge olympic size well landscaped swimming pool to beautiful virgin beach, tennis courts, excellent spa, a bit pricey, well equipped gym, DFIT its called. The property can also arrange Golf lessons on request.

Dear Aman J, We appreciate you choosing to stay with us at Dusit Thani Hua Hin recently and subsequently going to the trouble to post a 5-star review on Trip Advisor. It is nice to know that you enjoyed the uninterrupted views of the Olympic-sized swimming pool and Gulf of Thailand from a popular sea-facing room. As you rightly say, an eclectic mix of rest and recreation awaits visitors and we are delighted that you found the time to take advantage of so many of these. Our committed and caring staff are always glad of every opportunity to demonstrate their ‘can-do’ values in arranging unscheduled activities or requests, such as golf lessons, as all in a day’s work. Thank you for giving us the chance to clarify that we offer an hourly shuttle bus for the short journey to and from Hua Hin city centre. This service is provided complimentary at all times for our guests opting to pay a small supplement for the numerous ‘Club’ privileges, and three times a day for others, while passengers on the remaining 10 round trips are charged a nominal 50 Baht fare. Dear Aman J, once again, we are grateful for your kind words and trust you returned home feeling fully unwound, eager to return to Dusit Thani Hua Hin once again in the not-too-distant future. Until then, we remain, Graciously yours, Chantima Homneam Manager - Total Quality Management

I joined the corporate event at the hotel in April'2022 and was made aware that the charged rate for my room was Club King Suite room but in fact we're put into the Family Suite room where it's smaller/cheaper than the corporate paid for. I can stay in that room but I think the hotel took advantage given the guest was not aware of the agreed rate which so ashamed. I request the hotel to change the room but they keep saying that this is the last room while I still can find the available king suite room on Dusit hotel website!!.

I did not tell our contact staff as I saw them headache with so many horrible things managed by the hotel eg. check-in not ready for our groups (20persons), some received welcome drinks some not, changed the booked activities, daily cleaning for our group (8 rooms) not performed until we returned from outside tour at 4pm and we had to call the housekeeping and waited outside.

When I know that the event will be held at this hotel, I was so afraid of their poor operation management as I had direct experienced in Sep'2021 when my family stayed there for a week in club king suite room where I booked direct on hotel website. At that time the hotel was quite crowded and the restaurant was not able to handle traffic of any meal. Jam breakfast, slow lunch and shortage dinner. I tried to ignore as it's still during heavy COVID19 period and they might lack of staffs. However the recent trip advised me that I was wrong, my kid asked me if this is called a poor management and wondering why they still exist?

Dear RakTalay, Thank you for staying with us at Dusit Thani Hua Hin recently. We are sorry that your stay appears to have fallen short of expectations. The Club Suite and Family Suite are actually same side at 75 sqm and difference of these suites are the views. Family Suite is facing to our Garden swimming pool and ocean view and Club Suite is facing to view of endless ocean sight of gulf of Thailand and our main swimming pool. Your comment has been brought up during our internal meeting and the respective department has taken action to rectify the problem to avoid recurrence in the future. However, do please feel free to contact me at worapot.pw@dusit.com to provide us with any additional information of your name and room number that will help us investigate further. Dear RakTalay, we do hope to hear from you at your convenience, as we are always anxious to improve on any shortfalls in our usual levels of gracious Thai hospitality. This beachfront hotel is nicely located in a very large garden with lakes between Cha Am and Hua Hin. It was probably a top class hotel 40 years ago when it was opened. It is still very good, but it would need a refresh to meet current expectations for a modern 5 star hotel.
Rooms are overall decent and clean.
The big pool is fine, but with almost no shade, with only few trees around. There is no staff at the pool offering beverages or anything else. This is a general issue - staff is polite, but could be more proactive.
The second smaller garden pool with a pool bar is currently closed.
Breakfasts are served in the restaurant or in rooms, both options are rather expensive.
The hotel has several restaurants, a beach bar (currently closed), spa, a good large gym (equipment old, but functional), four tennis courts, squash courts, table tennis and even a big grass football pitch, which is unfortunately not maintained.
The hotel organises various activities, e.g. cooking for kids, outdoor movies, tai-chi or joga on the beach. Surprisingly no kayaks or paddle boards available.
Beach is shallow and comparable with other hotel beaches in Hua Hin, but should be cleaned from time to time.
All in all a good hotel, but I personally prefer newer hotels in Hua Hin, e.g. Marriott or Anantara.

Very welcoming since I've arrived to the day I left. I've booked the room in Thai gov. project which has 40% discount the room rate and every other 5 stars hotels push thier price higher than usual but not at Dusit Thani Huahin. The room is extremely clean with best view. However, instead of getting 1 queen double bed, I've got twin bed that has been pulled next to each other. Btw I love the bathtub, its ergonomic design was super comfy, I almost slept in it twice!!

The breakfast is satisfying. Variety of food and service is phenomenon due to the covid-19 moment. The pool is great too, very refreshing with serenity.

I havn't requested for late check out in advance but when I asked the front staff, she promptly mannage everything like magic.

I'm impressed and enjoy every moment here.

Last week i stayed at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin to celebrate a birthday. The sea view room was a good size at a reasonable price. The dinning experience was great as the hotel was able to offer a good selection of wines. All of the staff were very polite, from the security guard to the house keeping staff. The following morning i had a workout in the gym before breakfast and a walk on the beach which was again excellent.
If you are looking for a beach location in a quiet location in large grounds in the Cha-am/Hua Hin area, i recommend you checkout the Dusit Thani.

We arrived in celebration of our honeymoon and my Birthday. We were welcomed by a warm staff with drinks and fresh towels. The hotel is beautiful!! Very well maintained and luxurious, looks a few years old although is 30 years old! We were personally shown to the room - clean, spacious and beautiful with a great view to the pool and sea and minutes later a cart with a cake and a greeting was delivered. Room service food is delicious, prices as to be expected in a 5 star hotel but not too bad. Hotel facilities are clean and maintained, staff is amazing , always smiling and very helpful. We highly recommend and if we visit Hua Hin again we will definitely stay there!

The location of the hotel is great, with a long beachfront that provides stunning views. However, I have to say that the hotel is a bit old and could use some maintenance work to improve its condition.

The sleeping room was clean and comfortable, but there was only one plug on the headboard for two people, which was inconvenient since we couldn't charge our phones at the same time. The restroom was spacious with a separate bathtub and shower, but the shower room lacked a rain shower, and the hand shower head was quite old and released an inconsistent amount of water. Additionally, the water temperature was not stable. There were no price lists available for snacks in the minibar. Guests had to scan a QR code to see the price list, which was located on a table away from the minibar.

In terms of the pool, there were no towels available at the garden pool, and we had to get them from the main pool.

The corridor lighting leading the room was too bright, especially when the walkway from the lobby to the elevator hall was dimmer. Moreover, one of the doormen was unable to answer a simple question about where the fitness center was.

The breakfast was overcrowded, and there were queues for entering the breakfast room. It was difficult to collect food as the buffet lines were too packed. The staff should inform guests to avoid peak times for breakfast so that they can manage the situation better. It would be great if the hotel could expand the buffet line to create more space between the food lines.

Other areas that require improvement include the check-in procedure, which was not smooth. The front office asked me to pay THB 300 extra per person as they explained the booking made via trip.com was only for one person, despite my booking being for two people. However, after I showed the reservation and forwarded the confirmation from TRIP.com to their email, I did not have to pay the extra fee. It would have been better if the hotel had checked the reservation more carefully before asking their guests for confirmation, as this created a bad first impression.

Finally, I forgot my phone charger at the hotel and contacted them to check if it was found. While the hotel did offer to post the charger back to me with a charge of THB100. I would have appreciated a call from the hotel as soon as it was found, as I was still in the area and could have returned to the hotel to collect it before going further away. I am not sure why they kept my phone number if it was not used in such cases.

On a positive note, the hotel's restaurant, Nómada, was exceptional. The food was great and delicious, and the cocktails were good too. The staff was attentive and provided excellent service. However, this positive experience was overshadowed by the issues mentioned above.

Overall, while the Dusit Thani Hotel has a reputation for exceptional service and being a well-established hotel in Hua Hin, I did not experience that level of service during my stay. The issues mentioned above did detract from my overall experience, and I hope the hotel can take steps to improve and address these concerns for future guests.

We are 2 families traveling with 4 kids. This is our first visit to Dusit Thani Hua Hin, and definately not the last.

Apart from the hotel exterior that gave 20-30 yr building vibes, the rest of the hotel is updated.

We booked 2 family rooms. The rooms were recently renovated. The kids really love the extra space in living room & bathroom. The room is very nice.

Swimming pools are clean. Kid pool is where we spent most of our time :)

The beach is long, but full of shells (and some broken glasses)…..still better beach compared to the Sheraton next door (no beach most of the time).

Breakfast was delicious, but not so many choices to choose. Have to pay extra if you want Iced latte.

The only downside we saw here is the service inconsistency. Some of them are so energetic…the housekeeping team keep filling our water, ice all day, while the staff at the pool just look and never gave a hand with the sun bed or beach towels….same case with the staff at the restaurant that we have to approach them if we want coffee/tea. May be it’s the COVID that the newly hired staff still need training.

Overall, Dusit Thani Hua Hin offer a great value, we highly recommended the family room.

Hi! Actually we drove from Bangkok to Hua Hin. It’s about 2-3 hours depending on traffic conditions. I heard that Dusit has a shuttle service between Bangkok and Hua Hin. You can check their website for details. Hope this helps.
