We stayed for 2 weeks over both Christmas and New Year. Cannot fault this gorgeous hotel in anything other than the beds were very hard so slept badly. There is no full legth mirror in rooms either. Don't use hotel laundry which is very expensive. Laundries in town cost 60 tb per kilo, done in 24 hrs.Get a taxi at the gate for 100tb as taxis charge extra 50tb to drive onto hotel premises. Don't take an empty suitcase as people used to do, expecting cheap clothes etc in town, Matalan is better and cheaper so take your own. Everyone reserves sunbeds which is really annoying but if you monitor them, staff will remove unattended towels after 30 mins. There is a very steep walk up to the top rooms, but staf will send for a buggy to ferry you up or down to the beach and restaurant etc. We didn't use it but accompanying friends did and found it prompt and helpful (it's free). The grounds are beautifully kept and the staff work endlessly and with good humour to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. The food was plentiful and endless variety. Breakfasts included and were amazing value. We ate in the evenings a few times and though a bit more expensive than going into town the quality was excellent. We used some or all the 3 Happy Hours every night which brought the cost more in line with drinks in town. The restaurants in town we recommend are Qcumber, Pam's, Little Italy, Spinach. Book on line - we were a party of 9 and these are the most popular restaurants so if we all wanted to eat together booking was essential!

We’ve just returned from an amazing 2 weeks at The Moracea, we went all inclusive . We picked this hotel because we liked the look of the tropical garden surrounding the hotel. We weren’t disappointed. It’s a bit like staying in a lush botanical garden full of beautiful plants and trees. There’s always loads of gardeners working hard to keep the place looking fantastic. Unlike most hotels, they haven’t cleared the grounds of trees, but built sympathetically around them.
All the staff are so friendly and polite, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel where every member of staff was so exceptional. From the momentous arrive, reception team are very efficient .
Particular mention must go to Ji, the Bamboo restaurant manager and Ju (waitress).
The hotel occupies a large seafront with a beautiful beach. We enjoyed walking along the beach looking at other hotels, though we didn’t see any that compared to the Moracea. We were also impressed with the food. Breakfast is as good as any high end hotel. Lunch and Evening meal have a good choice with a huge Thai menu available, about three nights a week there is a chance to try the themed buffets, superb food, chefs do a go job. The Bamboo Restaurant is located on the beach, it feels so special eating outside on a hot tropical night. The hotel is wonderfully quiet with little entertainment and early closing bars. If your looking for a late night rowdy holiday, this isn’t the place for you, but if peace, quiet and relaxation is your thing this is just the destination. The resort is built on a hill, older or less mobile people may find some of the rooms located towards the higher end of the resort difficult. The beach bungalows are on the same level as the restaurants and the beach,so would be a better bet for some.
Our bedroom was a grand hibiscus room, cleaned to a high standard each day, it was very large room , well appointed with a traditional Thai feel to it, huge comfortable bed and a wonderful view through the trees of the sea and the amazing sunsets.
On departure we had a 5am start, the hotel provided a breakfast box, it seems they think of everything.
We enjoyed our time so much we are already planning our trip for next year.

We just came back from 12 days staying at this resort, for Christmas, it was a fantastic experience! We had accommodation and breakfast included. Just what we needed..located in the middle of the nature, silent, nice swimming pools, a great beach where you can have long walks, fresh coconut, you can find good price massages on the beach (at the hotel is expensive). There is a little town, at 10 minutes walking from the hotel, and you can find many restaurants where to eat, shopping, 7/11 supermarket, massages, etc, for reasonable prices (some of them are more like European prices, but definitely cheaper than the hotel). It is really practical, if you want, to rent a scouter and explore around , very easy and pleasant to go to. A food market is also open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday , really nice to explore for local food, lots of fresh fruit and souvenir .
We had a Hibiscus double room, it was big, cleaned every day, and with fresh water bottles. Towels were a little worn-out (maybe this could be improved in the future ?), but we were ok with it, as we also brought some personal things. We would have preferred, for practical way, to have some drawers in the room, where you can keep your clothes (we had to keep almost all our stuff in the luggage for the entire stay). We were impressed by the staff, its amazing how much they work and thanks to them the resort looks impeccable every day. All helpful, smiling, and always available. Amazing people!
The breakfast was OK, many things to choose from, but as we love fresh fruit, and being in Thailand, we expected to find more fruit options, every day.
If you love nature, you need a quiet place to relax, we recommend this place, for its location.
Overall we had a lovely and peaceful stay at Moracea. Thank you all !

Stayed in a bungalow near the beach. This gives you a stylish bedroom with a sitting area, a good balcony, an entrance lobby and a bathroom. It was comfy and the bed was good; but wardrobe space is limited, there no full length mirror and ther one in the bathroom is poorly lit. The grounds are beautiful and kept immaculate while the pools are also well maintained and clean. Notices about not bagging sun loungers way before you need them are ignored. We didn't see the management enforce this rule - ever.

Breakfast is OK, but not great for quality. Staff in all departments are smiley and willing. Spa is notably good - more expensive for a massage than what's available in the local town but they are highly skilled and the surroundings are clean and pleasant.

This hotel is an oasis of calm. We are a family of 4 with two children aged 22 and 16 so we booked two rooms for 7 nights over the xmas period after visiting Bangkok and Elephant Hills. We stayed in the Hibiscus rooms on the third floor which meant we had the lovely vaulted ceilings and great views. The hotel is situated on a hillside and there are further steps up to the rooms so be prepared to walk a bit during your stay, definitely not for people with mobility issues. Breakfast was great and plentiful and had everything you would expect. We were there at Xmas time but did not go to the gala dinner, it was too expensive for us and we were happy with the great variety of bars and restaurants outside the hotel (easy to get to). We had lunch most of the days we were there as we were too lazy to go elsewhere as our beach was gorgeous and never busy and we could always find a sun lounger in the afternoons. Lunch was very reasonably priced and most of the time was spot on, only once did we have to wait a very long time. This hotel were almost full whilst we were there, but due to the layout, it never felt it and made our stay very relaxing. The staff are great, always smiling and friendly, especially the Front Reception and at the Spa. We all had massages on the beach on Xmas day which were great and were fun. There are many massage huts to choose from if you go left from the hotel from the beach. Cost us about £30-35 for 4. My Hubs and I also had a massage at the Spa for around £35 for the two of us. They were incredible, much better than the beach (to be expected) and at a fantastic price, really worth it. The mattress were a little hard in the room and when I mentioned it to the Desk they immediately offered to put a topper on our bed which made it very comfortable. There is an on-site shop where you can get large bottles of water, coke, beer, crisps etc. We loved our stay here and for the first time ever, really wanted to stay for a few more days. Would highly recommend

We came to Moracea from somewhat basic accommodation on Koh Phi Phi and could not believe how quiet and comfortable it was. We stayed in one of the bungalows overlooking the pool and could also see the sun setting over the sea from our veranda. The bed was heavenly comfortable and spacious. The choice at breakfast was second to none - the difficulty we had was dragging ourselves away from the table every morning. The situation of the hotel is ideal if you enjoy walking. You can easily walk to a good range of different restaurants and bars on the main street, accessible either by the beach (when it's light) or by the road. If you don't feel like walking, you can get a tuk tuk (we paid 150 baht for a single journey for 4 people). This hotel is not cheap but it's worth it!

We asked for a quiet room and we’re given chalet 229 We had a partial sea view from the balcony and could hear the sound of the waves at night. The chalet shares a small pool 4 other chalets and was peaceful during the day. It was a joy to watch the kingfishers in the trees and a monitor lizard wandered past on its way to the beach. The beach is shared with a number of other hotels all of whom try to clean up the flotsam that comes ashore. The waves are strong here. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is good however we choose to walk into town in the evening where there were two good restaurants, Mojo and Bussaba these are only a 10 minute walk or 100 baht in a taxi. We booked an extra package that included transfers and a cocktail each evening. Well worth the money we paid

The Moracea resort is gorgeous, it felt like paradise. The pictures & reviews just don't do it justice. The surroundings are stunning. Manicured, lush gardens, dotted with beautiful pools, all accessible by a variety of well-kept paths & staircases. Every day we'd find staff tending to the plants, sifting the sand & even using a floor cleaner to wash the paths. Then there's the beach - it's on the Andaman coast so couldn't be more beautiful. Soft sand & warm, clear water, with the perfect sundowner sunsets. My family & I kept remarking that we felt like we were in a James Bond movie! The rooms also have such attention to detail. Sumptuous furnishings & beautiful lighting. Fresh bottles of water were provided every day and we even had our own umbrellas, occasionally needed for the passing monsoon rain. The bedroom and bathroom were huge and despite being at the back of the resort we felt we had the best rooms overlooking a stunning pool, with waterfall that flowed outside our window. We went as family of four & the staff were very helpful giving us rooms side by side, with a twin for my boys. Our block had three floors, with two rooms on each floor, so we felt very contained. Every day we could walk 5 minutes to the beach, or it was a 1 minute trip down the stairs & around the side to the pool. Breakfast was full of endless Asian & European options and you could sit in the restaurant, or on the beach to eat. Lunch & dinner were delicious and affordable, but we could also easily get a waiting taxi at the entrance (100 baht for four passengers) or walk the kilometre to the local strip where there are plenty of other food, shopping & massage options. All the staff were accommodating. Ordering a van to promptly collect us when we landed, providing the easiest, friendly check-in and even organising a massage after we checked out. Best holiday ever, such a tonic after lockdown. I cried when I checked out because I didn't want to leave!

BBQ very good value, Happy hours very good. Lots of shade to be found. Breakfast was very good the coffee bar needs to be looked at as all my coffees were at best warm not hot as should be. Would like men to have at least a vest on when selecting food from the buffet at breakfast food hygiene must be a concern.
